Horrible
Not even close to the quality of my original Clarion
If exposed to direct sun or heat the screen will go blank

Good stereo
Good stereo with some good features. Once you get the hang of how it operates.

Great performance, not the same footprint as older Clarion Marine HU's
The unit looks great, performs even better, but isn't the easiest to use out of the box without training. When in multi-zone mode, it's even more difficult to use until you break out the manual. My only real complaint about this unit is the footprint isn't the same size as Clarion's older XMD1 or XMD3 radios, forcing you to either build or buy an adaptor. The unit is also much deeper than the older radios. This forced me to build an adaptor that is 3/4" deep for clearance in the console. No other review touched on this fact. Some boats may have the extra clearance, but mine doesn't. Had I known this, I would have opted for a single DIN marine radio with protective housing instead.

Excellent replacement for XMD1
The M606 is an excellent replacement for the XMD1...Same overall mounting dimensions albeit the mounting screws are in different locations. This unit will not interface with older CD changers or the older model wired remotes but with Bluetooth. Technology the CD isn't needed... if you are pairing to a smartphone, can be adjusted via your phone. At that point the wired remote really is only useful to change radio stations. At least the way I have mine set up. I would recommend this unit as a direct replacement
