good value
you can't beat the value. This is the second Coby CX-49 I've owned. It provides good service and good sound quality. I dropped the first one several times and the cassette finally gave out though the radio still works. Wouldn't hesitate to buy one again if needed.

it's okay
this is a good product for the most part the only complaint i have is the tape recorder doesn't always work, the ones i have experienced is sometimes in order to get it to work you have to hold the play button down and you shouldn't have to, maybe the quality control department could look for this in every player.

The Coby CX-49
I own two players. Did not expect much but I was wrong. On the radio, the AM was quite good & nighttime reception is superb. The FM band was average but sounded decent. Tape player is smooth running and has clear sound. The Stop mechanism works well.

Waste of Money
I recently purchased the Coby CX-49 portable cassette player so that I could make use of some expensive Spanish language learning tapes. This turned out to be a waste of my money. With even a fresh set of batteries, this player makes my tapes sound like a 45 record being played at 33 rpm. In other words, the speed slows way down and it sounds like it's about to die. I would not recommend this product.
