why pay more, good cheap wiring kit

no problems, does what it says. don't bother getting an expensive name brand wiring kit, this one works like any other.

Perfect.

No need for spending 60+ dollars on a wiring kit. This kit rocks! and the price is the lowest you'll ever find for such a good kit. Has very thin threads of copper (which for those of you who dont know is a very good thing when trying to get a good connection) in all the wires that even some expensive kits cheap out on.

Buy this kit before all others.

The only con i could ever note with this is the speaker wire could be a little bigger if you are running a big sub.

Save your money

I needed some additional heavy gauge wire and was tapping my budget so I cut a corner here. I should have just bought what I really wanted to begin with. I got what I paid for.

Good kit at a GREAT price

Comparing this kit to other kits, this is probably the best kit you can get for the price here. I ordered this kit from Sonic and used it easily to install my amp. It works very nicely, This only issue I had with it was the ground wire. I wish that was just a little bit longer, it is very short. The connectors are a little bit off as well, but that is very minor. All in all, I HIGHLY reccommend this kit if you are trying to save a few bucks. The RCA wire is very nice and the power wire is very nice. I am VERY PLEASED with the kit. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

pretty good for the price

this kit is pretty good for the price, but not the greatest. the power cable isnt as thick as you think, just highly insulated.

ok

i had this kit for like 4 months and it is holding up fine with my Hifonics BXi 2010D 2000 watt rms amp only thing i needed to get a better fuse other then that it is a good kit

Exactly what i needed!

I would definitely Recommend this product! If you are looking for a cheap and easy to use amplifier kit then i would buy this. Only thing that u might want to think about is the fuse connector is round and all plastic which sometimes they have a tendency to melt completely and then u have to replace it and its a pain so i would personally go out and buy a different one. I didn't personally use the one they provided so it might work but I did not want to take the chance.

Great Value!

This wire kit looks and works great for a great cost. I have an Alpine amp wired for 500W to a Rockford P3, and it sounds great. The only thing you should be warned about is the fuse holder. Make sure everything is lined up properly before tightening the seals on the holder. I was messing with it one day and ended up cracking the casing because I didn't realize the parts fit together a certain way. Other than that, this is a great buy.

4 gauge or 8?

I was surprised that I received my package so quickly. The power and ground wires were thick but only because of the thick insulation. The actual wiring looked like around 8awg but the outside diameter was measured to be 4awg. I returned the product.

Works..

This kit is actualy not to bad.. the power and ground wire are of fine quality. the speaker wire isnt any thing special but isnt bad at all. the hard wear is good.. over all i would recomend this kit to any one.. thought i would go with a bit more high quality if your going with a higher power system...

Good for your money

I have had this for about 6 months now and it does the trick. The remote wire does kind of suck but it works for a daily system.

Not to bad!!!

I bought this product since i was a little tight on cash. I would only recommend that you buy this if you cant afford the more expensive ones. The wiring is a little cheap buy you get what you pay for i guess...

Not exactly what I was expecting

This is yet another mislabeled or otherwise misadvertised amp install kits out there. None of the wire gauges are correctly advertised by the company that made this kit, nor are any of them of any kind of quality. I've been in the car audio business for several years now, and have seen virtually every trick manufacturers use to minimize costs on items such as these.

Realistically, the 4-gauge power and ground wire included in this kit is actually 8-gauge, with enough insulation added to make it the same diameter as your typical quality 4-gauge cable. The speaker wire included, advertised as 18-gauge, is barely thicker than a piece of pet hair at what I would estimate at 24- or 22-gauge. The remote turn-on lead is the only cable that is even close to its listed size, supposedly being 18-gauge but really being more like 20. The inline fuse holder is actually not bad, and looks to be fairly waterproof as well as durable enough to sit under a hood. The fuse that it comes with, though, will probably not stand up to its rated amperage, especially not with the sub-par power/ground wire included in this kit.

The RCA cables, although they do feature a good amount of shielding and a twisted-pair design, feature equally poor construction. I actually managed to rip the head off one of the ends when pulling it through a hole in the floor carpet that was plenty big. Had to make a run to get another set of RCAs...

Bought this for a friend who needed some work done on his Blazer (relatively small amp on his subs, so an 8-gauge kit would have been fine), and I must say that I'm glad I went with this kit instead of the comparable "8-gauge" kit, which no doubt would have come with 12-gauge or lesser power/ground wire (after looking at the photos I made the determination that this was not going to be a quality amp kit).

For an affordable 8-gauge amp kit, this will get the job done. If you actually need 4-gauge power wire, stay away from this one and buy one that comes from a reputable manufacturer that doesn't lie about what gauges its wires are.

4 gauge amp kit

this kit is reliable and affordable, i have 4 12 inch kicker cvr's and 2 kenwood amps, and the amp kit is holding up pretty good! i would recommend this product to anyone who wants to put some serious bass in their ride!!!

Not a true 4 gauge kit

This kit has everything you need but it is far from a 4 gauge. The wire insulation is thick but the wire it self can barely be called an 8 gauge. If you are looking for a 4 gauge kit stear clear of this. Otherwise this is fine.

By Nathan on August 11, 2008

does the trick.

i admit that there are some flaws about this kit. the wire itself is almost like silk, and doesnt hold when you bend it very well. theres a little too much insulation to all of it. the remote wire is really like 24 gauge, and the power and ground are more like 8. but for the price, ill give it a good review because it gets the job done, and its actually copper wire, not aluminum. nice thing is it comes with plenty of connectors. if your cheap like me, this'll work for a system up to around 800 watts... any more might be pushin its limits.

Fairly good product

Having bought this product along with a capacitor, it works quite fine. Some of the wires are not the best, but hook up is not bad and with a capacitor no problems with dimming lights. Not too bad of a product especially for the price.

not to bad

it was not to bad but the whole kit could use a larger gauge instead of being all insulation i bought a audiobauhn 8002t amp and this kit to power my 2 12" spl competions subs and they work just fine its good for the money and will do the trick

Everything in One Box

Well this is the best deal i've seen anywhere for a full amp install kit, so you really can't go wrong here.

My only complaint is that the power wire is mostly rubber and not the actual wire. They beef up the surround to make it look like a bigger wire, ALTHOUGH this does not impact how the amp performs. So really it just comes down to the wire is just though to bend.

By alex on July 27, 2009

Good overall

The actual wires in this kit worked as they should, as does the fuse, but the accessories (clips, spades, etc) leave much to be desired. Almost everything in the accessory package is second rate, and I ended up using my own equipment for almost all of those. Still a great value though.

By Jeff on July 11, 2008

Not impressed

I would not recommend this amp kit to somone who is looking for actual 4 guage wires. The wires are 4 guage in diamater but half of it is insulation. I was very disappointed with this product and i would not recommend anyone looking for a 4 guage amp kit.

decent product for the money

i bought this wiring kit for my two 12" alpine type-r's and a hifonics 1600watt mono amp. this kit is good for the money, but i found that it is mostly insulation and more close to an 8 gauge kit than anything. I was constantly replacing au80 fuses in it (their hard to break) i had to replace the fuse holder from the battery bc it melted. I also now am faced with the fact that the rca terminal broke off inside my amp and i have to find a way to get it out. Not a high quality kit. Do yourself a favour and spend a little more money, it'll be worth it in the end.

Good Product

I had this with my JL 12W6 and 500.1 and I must say there are no problems, sub hit very hard, no reason to get a more expensive kit, they are just wires that work how they are supposed to, what else do you need?

By John on June 16, 2006

3 found this helpful

Not bad, but not 4 gauge

I got this kit because I didn't see the need in spending $80 + on one of those fancy install kits...well now I wish I would have. The only part of the wire that is 4 gauge is the outer jacket, the actual wire itself is 8. The remote wire is a joke. The RCA's don't look too bad, and the fuse holder is pretty nice. All the connecter peices that come with the kit are junk/cheap. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money on a quality kit.

GOod price works great

Was a cheapest i could find. Even better then ebay. Works great. 80amp fuse got it hooked up to 1800 watt amp. Works great. All the wires are highgauge. But speaker wire could have been a little thicker. But no complain stilll makes my ears hurt

Good deal, but cheap fuse block

First off, for the price you pay, you are getting a great deal. The power wire alone locally would cost me over double the cost (canadian). The only problem I had was the fuse kept coming lose in the fuse block. Got a new one, wired it all back up, and haven't had a problem since. Got over 1000+ watts running with no problems.

Good kit

Sonic electronix gave me this kit free with my order. So I though, well it must be crappy since they gave it to me for free. But it isn't, it is a 4 guage kit and I have more than 1000 watts runnign through it and it works like a champ. There is a lot of speaker wire which is really good because I had to use my imagination to wire a quad voice coil sub with. Very good kit for the money, don't waste your money on expensive kits, this has all you need and more.

Great

The guy who wrote the first review is not too smart, this wiring kit is awesome, the speaker wire is perfectly fine, and the power and ground wires have to be the best i have seen in a long time, i previously had a rockford fosgate 4gauge kit and paid around 85 bucks for it, sonic only charged be 25 and this is a lot better. Keep it up sonicelectronix, keep it up

Don't waste your money

As many others have said previously stated, (wished I'd have listened) the main power and ground wires are 4 ga. in appearance only. Used this kit to install amp and subs purchased here also. Sounded TERRIBLE. I suspected the cables right off because the actual copper is FAR smaller than 4 ga. Ran to the local O'reilly's and purchased actual 4ga. wire to replace these junk cables. The subs immediately began to thump as expected. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS KIT.

This kit sucks

Do not use this kit if you want a true 4 gauge wire. The power wires are more like 8 guage. Also the speaker wire that comes with it says its 12 gauge, and its barely 16. Spend the money the first time and get a better kit. I had to run out and buy speaker wire and power wires after recieving this kit.

Good for Price

It is a good basic kit for the price. If you buy you will need to upgrade the fuse it does not handle a 1200 watt amp well. Fuse lasted a week. But overall it is good price for the wiring.

nice 4ga amp kit, very complete with all the extras u might need, everything in it was good, connectors and all, only bad thing is i dont think the 4ga positive/negative wires has as many strands in it as it could have but definitely unbeatable for the price!

Improperly labeled

The 4 gauge wiring kit has a 4 gauge OVERALL diameter, that is the diameter including insulation and copper core center. I was expecting a 4 gauge wire, which is the main copper core. The copper core that I was expecting to be 4 gauge is only an 8 gauge at best. The connectors that were supplied would work well with a 4 or even 6 gauge wire but are entirely too big for this wiring kit, but he RCA cable that was supplied seemed to be very good quality and is externally shielded which is a plus. The other plus to this product is the wiring is long enough to support larger vehicles.

By Clint on December 21, 2009

Do not buy!

The only useful thing in this kit would be the power cable. I had to run out to Lowe's to buy new connecting ends. The fuse is a joke, it doesn't hold the wires in place, screw gets stripped out easily. I wouldn't trust the speaker cable for more than a remote cable from headunit to amp. Don't buy this, just spend a little more and get something that you won't have to hassle with.

4 Guage Amp Kit

I received this amp kit free with the Kenwood 7251 amp. Its nice but the speaker wire that came with it is weak so if you purchase this kit, be prepared to spend on some better speaker wire! Otherwise, great product.

Why ppl say the accessoris sux? maybe one or two

I dont get why most ppl say this kit sux... okay, i admit, some do sux like Remote wire. But that is about it. Everything is colored coated so it is very easy to hook up. The speaker wire is very nice quality. I recommend people to get it, but if you got a small battery and alternator in your car... man... recommended to get a cap. or else you get dimmed light when sub(s) hit each time.

Gets the job done

This kit provided more than enough wire and connectors to install my Hifonics BXi 606 in my 2001 Chevy 2500HD. All the wires look good, if that matters, and it is a much better value than other options.
