Review of this 8 guage wiring kit

I bought this kit because of the price! I read some of the other reviews first and noticed some of them talked about the guage of the wires were not accurate? but I thought I would try it out anyway's? After receiving this product, I noticed immediately that the wire guage is not accurate at all! In fact on the box it even says that they measure the guage on the complete "outside" of the part. This includes the wire's plastic insulation!!! after reading this I took an 8 Guage wire that I had from an old amp and noticed that when I striped off my insulation of my old 8 guage wire it was indeed the same size of this kit's "total" size of their 8 guage power wire! This could be dangerous in most aplications where a true size is required for your system? The only thing I will be using from this kit is the RCA cables. They are very nice!!

Would recommend to anyone looking for a 8 gauge amp kit, especially for the price.

Alright

This wiring kit is not a 8 gauge it is more like a 10 or 12. The power wire is not long enough to go from the battery to the trunk. And cheap remote wire. But hey you get what you pay for. I don't recommend this.

Not the Best Ever

well i got this just as a temporary kit for my PS2-800 and it actually did alright. its much closer to 10 AWG but u get ure money's worth.

8 Guage is Not Necessarily 8 Guage with this Product

The actual conductor (wire), both Power and Ground are MUCH closer to 10 gauge than 8 gauge however for $11 this kit is hard to beat.

Good Amp Kit

Everything you need to wire your amp is in this package worked great for me.

Not the greatest kit...

The acutal wire according to my wire strippers in 12 AWG. Power and ground. The RCAs were probably the nicest thing in the kit. The split loom is really thin, but it works. The terminals are also really nice. My fuse holder broke right away. The remote wire is a joke, its definately not 16 awg, more like 22. I could pull on it and break it. The speaker wire is also incredibly small.

I guess this kit will work but you mine as well get the actual 12 AWG kit for 8 bucks.

GREAT kit for the price, Works well

This kit is excellent for the price. Sure a few things are lackluster, but you can't beat it for you pay for it. I have this hooked up to a four channel, 300 watt amp and it works very well with it. No problems with installation or wire shortage. There was plenty of wire to do all of my wiring. I got exactly what I expected when I ordered this from Sonic. I am pleased with this purchase and reccommend this to anyone who wants to save money on wiring a low watt amplifier. The RCA wires aren't the best, but they are great for what you pay for them.

power wires

This is a great kit with the exception of the power and ground wires. The wire plus the insulation is 8 gauge but the wire itself is not, which I was very disappointed in. So just be aware of that when looking at this product.

get what you paid for

I would recommend this for an entry level system that won't be upgraded in the future. The gauge of the wire is very thin. But item is as described. Comes with everything necessary.

Hated it!

Purchased this kit and could deal with maybe 1 problem, but I had 2. The remote turn on wire gauge is too thin and will break at connection point even when using connectors. The RCA wires are low grade and do not stand up to too much bending, as they will break continuity and give you interupted feedback from your receiver. I will replace this kit immediately with a higher quality amp wiring kit.

Great value

I bought this wiring kit from sonicelectronix and is an excellent value. The gauge is probably not accurate to specs but for the price is worth it.

Good for the Price

As state in other reviews, this is about the cheapest wiring kit out there. Although it may not be the 8 gauges it touts, it definitely gets the job done, and for simple (not too high powered) systems, it has everything you need to get the job done. Excellent if you're on a budget and you're not pushing a lot of power.

Cheap and it works

You get what you pay for. I am using this on a Kenwood KAC-6202 200 watt rms amp and its working great. Cheapest deal you will find. Wires are not actually 8 gauge unless you include the plastic shielding. Be careful about overpowering this amp wiring kit.
