Very Disappointed
Summary:
The controller broke, after about a month of use.
I purchased an upgraded model from another site,
and it's been working fine.
Details:
I originally wanted a K9 CLASSIC EDP2 but I got this product instead.
I didn't notice the difference in the model number until later.
The parts between the two models have a similar design,
so they are compatible with each other.
But, the K9 is a newer model.
I was using this to replace an older omega alarm, that the
controller broke. The omega tech support told me the K9
controller would be compatible with my current sensors,
with some minor wiring changes on the controller side.
I found they were correct.
I installed this crime guard controller about a month after I
purchased it. I knew it would take some time, so I had to wait
until I had the time, over a weekend.
It worked fine at first- but then after about a month,
the controller got kind of flaky about responding to the
two transmitters. After another week or so of use, it got
to the point where I couldn't operate it, most of the time.
That's when I went back and looked at the purchasing information,
for return policies, warranty information, etc.
I then found the difference in the models.
The sensors and transmitters work fine in the crime guard system,
but not the controller.
So, don't buy it. Get the K9, instead.
