Good camera

Nice colors , good image quality. The camera can be rotated 360 degrees internaly to acomodate any available mounting position. It come with a hole saw for easy installation. I wired it directly to the reverse light and starts up in almost no time. No waiting for the camera to show the picture while you are in reverse.
I would recomend it.

Great Camera

Great flush mount camera....looks like a factory rear view camera....I wired directly to the reverse light wire, and since I have a pioneer head unit you must also wire the purple/white stripe wire off the head unit to the reverse wire for the camera to work properly, its a trigger wire.....installation was pretty simple and I used GE silicone caulk around the inside and outside to fay seal the camera to the body of the vehicle to prevent water from getting in....

useless for trailering, good for cars or towing vehicles that fly upside down

Pros: works, good watertight DIN connector, quality image.
Cons:
1) The notch that allows one to further the angle of the camera is cut towards the upward direction in respect to the vertical viewing plane. So, if you have this in a tailgate, you can't direct the camera down further than the circle allows, which is relevant because...

2) The built in distance lines put the word "stop" right where your hitch is and cannot be bypassed. The distance line are permanent. I have it paired with a crimestopper mirror/dvr with monitor which also has distance lines which also cannot be bypassed. The camera could have been designed to have the DIN hooked up at one "degree" with a notch to bypass the lines, or have a wire you can cut to bypass, as with the mirroring. And, if they are moth made by the same company, make them communicate.

2.5 Crimestopper could have prevented this frustration by hiring one of their engineers for three days to rectify these problems. But, they most likely just found one part that worked with another on AliBaba, ordered a few thousand and left the end user peaved so he or she would write reviews like this.

3) The prongs used for tight installation will not work with anything big from detroit. The previous model and this one do NOT snap into a tailgate from any Chevy truck or SUV built before 1999, and possibly later (I have a 97), the metal is too thick, and forget about it working in a steel bumper. You'll have to glue it in with silicone or loctite, and then it's in, so make sure you have it lined up right. So the clips are useless on older vehicles. Late model vehicles might have thinner metal, I don't know.

4) The din is not universal with the same model from a year ago.

I summary, flaws in initial design could have been prevented with 90 seconds of thinking. I cannot make any claims as far as durability, so I gave them a freebie there. It is inexpensive and the picture quality is good, great for cars. For me, it could be 4K picture quality and it would still be useless for hooking up a trailer because of the oversight of the vertical plane and the lame text they thought would be great in the exact place that you need to see what's going on. In the end, I will probably patch the hole and use a different camera, as installing this on my tailgate was a waste of time equivalent to putting fake tits on a bull. Maybe there is a place in China where the cars fly upside down. That place probably sells a lot of these.
