Great amplifier

I have this amplifier running a Hifonics 12" dual coil sub. I'm running at 2 ohms. The amp DOES NOT GET HOT. The sound coming from the sub is amazing; clean and clear with plenty of bump.

The below review is what convinced me to try this amp, and I am very happy because of it. Functionally, this amp has everything you'd need: line out for system building, very responsive low pass crossover all the way up to 250hz, an eye catching cover plate or the versatility to put in a tight spot with the cover off, etc. etc. etc.

I don't have the guts to try to run this amp at one Ohm (for the dual 12's i have for the truck) so I'm going to move up to the 1200 amp, but I'm going to use this amp and one sub in my car. I highly recommend this amp to anyone looking to run a 200-400 RMS sub @ 2-4 ohms :)

More than you'd expect

I have this amp, and let me say that it pushed my two type R's hard, and sounded awesome and clear for a small amp. Highly recommend Directed Products.

Great Little Entry Level Sub amp

I first started dealing with Directed Audio amps about 2 years ago and have continued to deal with them, and recomend them to people. I have noticed that they hold up very well, don't tend to overheat, or shutdown for various reasons. I am yet to hear a complaint about one, or have one have any type of problems. I recently hooked one of these amps up to a set of Polk MM104, the new Polk Momo single 4 ohm voice coil 10" subs. Replacing the old MTX 311D 300 watt sub amp previously used. The subs sounded better, cleaner, and stayed in much better control.

Now for the heck of it, I decided to try and put this amp under a 1 ohm load in my shop, I ran 4 Polk GNX 12" subs on it! I let it run for about 30 minutes or so before I turned it down. The amp never so much as got hot to my touch. I don't recomend this because DEI says it is not built to do it. But I think it does say something about the quality of their product, and how they rate thier products.

I have been an avid fan of Directed Electronics equipment across the line for many years, and continue to this day to purchase thier products, and strongly recomend them to anyone.

Reliable amp , wish Directed could of continue making these amps , these amps are basically a cheaper version of Orion but dont get me wrong cheap as in price . Not alot of people have theyre hands on these amps but trust me they are great!
