Easy to use and saves time

If you install a lot of alarms this bit writer saves tons of time programing features without the need to count chirps hoping your in the right menu program all features in minutes!

The directed 998t will make programming all your D.E.I alarms and some amps very fast and painless. Unlocks many options that you wouldn't be able to access without the programmer. The only cons are the plugs on the programmer seems a little fragile. A absolute must have if you install alarms.

Worth its weight in gold

For setting up and installing any DEI car alarm this is a must have. Makes going thru the options much easier and quicker. Change settings otherwise locked out when setting up via the Valet button. Couldnt ask for an easier and more simple way of doing things.

Handy tool for alarm install

Worth picking up if you are doing a self install. Allows you to set up the alarm much easier and make quick adjustments. In the high end model alarms you would need this to program the feature's.

Directed 998T a must have for Avital remote starter

I would strongly recommend this item for programming any remote starter which has the port for programming.

The cables needed to hook up could be made better. The connector to the remote starter came off after the few times it was used. You need to be very careful in removing, and be sure not to pull on the wires. This can be difficult depending on the location of the remote.

The unit should be able to program additional remotes. It doesn't have this feature. You must go to the remote starter, and program using the buttons on the remote starter unit.

Easy to use, worked just fine to easily access all the stuff on my alarm.

A need to have for install

the bitwriter has made my DEI install so easy. Read / Write and save your system configs. Mine came with version 2.9 (site says 2.7) which was perfect to install my 5906v system. Every programmable option was avail, and some only with this. Nice tool.

As an aside, Sonic shipped all of my products fast, accurately and I could not be happier with them as merchant. I will be back for more products as needed.
