Worth the cesh

Great amp for the price. Slim and compact, it fits great under the dash of my 05 Silverado. This amp provides more than enough power to run my 50 (rear) / 60 (front) RMS speakers. Since it was a short run from the battery to the cab, I went with 10ga power wire and have had no issues. The manual recommended 4ga

Works perfectly under the Dash of my 02 Avalanche.

This amp actually fits perfectly in the stock amp bracket that came with the vehicle. Wiring was easy, T taps are amazing, and the increase in power, volume, and clarity over the stock amp is incredible. I have two Polk Audio DXI speakers with tweeters and individual crossover's running my front doors and two Kicker CS' running my back doors. Well the factory amp only increases power to the tune of 20 to 30 watts per channel, so you aren't gaining anything from it if you replace your head unit. Also the factory amp has an inherent crossover that kills the low frequencies for the front speakers. So here I was with front door speakers that have tweeters that have their own crossover being fed a source that's already crossovered. Inception level car audio there. So you can imagine how those Polk DXI's woke up after they A. weren't being neutered by the factory amp's crossover and B. were given three maybe four times the wattage that the factory amp was giving.
Only thing I could question or quasi complain about is the way that the Constant (+) and ground are hooked up. This amp uses a wiring harness that has 6 wires. Well what they do is two of the wires, 18 or 16 AWG, are for the Constant (+), three of the wires are for the ground....those two things seem a little A$$ backwards to me but okay.....and then one wire is for Remote turn on. Maybe it was something they had to do to save space....it is a small amp...., but I have seen Dual produce another tiny amp that had 4 or at least 8 AWG wire receptacles. So go figure. Haven't had any problems with it so far so I guess the two 16 AWG power wires really do equal one 10 AWG power wire. That 10 AWG wire wouldn't be a problem for the 4 inches that the harness supplies, giggiddy, but I would go with a dedicated 8 gauge wire from your battery terminal to the amp. Again, it just seems like they could have just given the amp 8 gauge receptacles. Oh well, the amp is under my dash so I don't have to see it. Anyways I really like this amp. If fits perfectly in the stock amp bracket, so no need to finagle a new mounting setup out of legos, dreams, and zip ties. Sound quality is fantastic, though I did notice that I was getting the alternator feedback when both front and rear gains were maxed out. I ended up encasing my RCA plugs in insulator and turned down the gains a smidge and all is perfect. So cheers and happy thumpin.
