Great stereo, poor support!

I bought this stereo after going over countless reviews for other stereos and I have to say I'm really impressed by it. It was the only stereo that offered everything that I wanted at a GREAT price:
* Front USB, AUX, and memory card inputs
* Rear HDMI and USB power inputs, multiple AV inputs including backup camera support and passenger DVD output
* DVD & CD support
* Bluetooth support with microphone for phone calls
* Dual Mirror Support
* Removable faceplate
* Slide out 7" display
* Analog steering wheel control interface built in
* Remote control

It also has multicolor support so it's a very colorful unit! I didn't really need that, but it's nice to have and very pleasing and catching to the eye.

Anyhow, it's a lovely device and I would highly recommend it. The only negative things about it are the display on the faceplate is hard to see during the day and their customer support is awful (the same guy answers the phone every time, plus he sounds about as thrilled as Ferris Bueller's teacher to help you). He's also quick to say there's no help for the issue you're having. Funny thing about it is that when I had an Axxera stereo, it was the SAME guy who answered their customer support line too! =) Anyhow other than those two things, there's no other negatives about it!

Great stereo, great price!

A Waste of Money

A Big waste of Money. Had to buy extra, Antenna Adapter, Dongle Extension Cords, Radio Dash Adapter twice, and Radio Wiring Harness Adapter.

PROS: Touch Screen, Large Icons, Removable Face, Color Selection, Bluetooth Phone.

CONS: First, You have to buy the Radio to get the Website to download the instruction book.
CONS: Very Specific on Flash Drive, SD Card, won't read any of Mine and they are basic MP3 and Very Specific on Phones for Dual Screen, and all this info is only in the downloadable instruction manual. Dongle won't work behind Radio, so I had to buy extensions for it to go down under dash and attach to bottom of dash for access to reset button. The dongle is needed for the Bluetooth to work, Bluetooth won't work without it. There is no Clock, if the Radio is turned off, there is no Clock, You have to have the radio on with the screen out to have the time. There is no Memory for Phone Numbers, once You turn of the ignition, You lose everything. I had to buy an Adapter twice to get it to fit properly first time the screen would hit the dash, second was out so far it would hit the shifter, I modified the second adapter so it fit just right. The Dual Screen won't work with My Phone, and I even bought the Hard Wire Cable (Per Sonic) to see if that would work and it doesn't either, and besides, You need the Dongle for the Bluetooth to work. The Radio is a PIA, trying to save stations is a nightmare in it's own right.
I bought this Radio so I could use My GPS off the Phone on the main screen, that doesn't work. I was better off just buying a GPS separate. The only advantage I have over My old Radio is the Hands Free Phone, But then it doesn't save My frequent numbers,. And I still haven't gotten to the Back Up Camera, I don't even know if that works. By the time I got all the proper cables and adapters, is was past Sonics 60 day return policy. I would have returned it otherwise. Save Your Money look for something different.

Looks great - for the short time it worked...

This seems like a great head unit from the looks of it. Bunch of fancy features. Decent power. Pretty visible screen. Fairly straight forward OS.
Only problem is - the flip out screen is terrible. At the least - the screen will come out slowly, with some issues, like the motors constantly spinning even when its fully extended. At it's worst it won't open at all under cold conditions. I was making a road trip too during said cold conditions. Having no tunes for a 12 hr drive pretty much sucks.
I would NOT recommend this unit to anyone. If you want a screen, play it safe and just get a double-din unit. None of this flip-out crap.
