GREAT DVD/CD RADIO

Bought the dual xdvd8183 to install in my 39 chevy coupe hotrod, the look & layout of the buttons & radio face, when the screen was in the closed position are excellent & well thought out. The screen is super for watching dvds, the touch screen is every well layed out & easy enough for anyone to figure out in just a few minutes. Has all the options for radios 2 or 3 times the price. The dual radios are the best priced radios on the market. Would reccommand to ANYONE WANTING A GREAT HIGH END RADIO, FOR HALF THE PRICE AS A RADIO WITH THE SAME FEATURES!

Decent Value

I would recommend this product if you want a monitor but don't want to spend to much money on one. There are few options to tune your system which is a disappointment.

Dual 8183 dvd

I really like the ipod feature on this unit. I had an 8181 and I had to control the ipod through the actual ipod but on this one I can control it through the touch screen. Also this unit seems to be of a higher quality than my last one. My last one, the 8181, broke after about a year and it wouldnt play a cd any more but this one is still working fine after about a year. People alwayz say dual brand products are cheap and break easily but mine is still working and i will keeo buying.

This Dual XDVD8183 is a good buy, i would recommend it. It is not the best you can get though, but for the price its not bad at all.

all around good unit the only things that it lacks is the ipod control display its very slow not to many options takes long to refreash. also EQ options not very many.. but i give it 7.5 of 10

Just as good as Kenwood, Alpine and Pioneer

I have this hooked up in my SUV. I has a great design. The faceplate draws attention. I have it running everything subs, amp, and it is great. The monitor shows a crystal clear picture and it give my full range speakers a crystal clear sound as well. The EQ on it is superb my subwoofers Shake the earth when turned up. Great head unit. Thanks for allowing me to keep the extra 700.00 in my pocket !

where to start

ok, so i bought this unit because i've always seen good things with friends who have dual decks, i installed an 8182 in my friends truck and it works great, good reception, good pic, but bought this for the bluetooth, so here it is, the bluetooth works decent, like others say you have to speak up, but hey its a speaker phone in a car, so no big, the real problem is you cant adjust the contrast on a dvd, im in my car right now typing this, and the owners manual even says you can only adjust color and tint and contrast on ipod or camera and aux input, so for watching a movie with dark scenes, completely unusable, could just be mine, but still no adjust other than brightness, number 2, which im sure is a prob with mine and not the product, my radio stations are all fuzzy, the stereo light turns off and it sounds like crap unless your sitting still in an open parking lot, now ive swapped a couple decks in including my old uv8 and all radio works good, so its not the car, bottom line, im sure most of my problems are just mine, but if you like to fine tune your picture, (its even dark on the headrest tv's) then this is not the deck for you, go with the 8182, much better setup, why the removed the contrast control is beyond me, but thank goodness for RMA, returning this week and getting an 8182 or my money back, good luck to all of you out there

Great Unit

I bought this unit back in may and it has worked perfectly ever since - very easy to install by yourself and very user friendly. It is a little hard to see the screen in direct sunlight, but other than that no complaints.

i was kinda skeptical about buying this being that its so cheap but wow i was amazed its an amazing product the ipod controls work great and the bluetooth i can hear loud and clear great buy i would recommend to anyone

Deck sucks!

I bought this deck thinking i was getting great deal, turns out I was wrong. First problem I had was the screen kept cutting out I sent it back to dual and they replaced it. After a little while it stopped playing CDs it just ejects them instead I called dual and they said it was going to cost me close to 200 dollars because the warranty had just expired. Don't go with dual buy a better brand that knows how to make quality decks and someone that will work with you instead of just wanting money for it.

Would recommend this product (if it can fit your car) to anyone who is looking for a flip out touch screen in-dash. Very durable and easy to use. Comes with everything Sonic says comes with it. Absolutely no worries when buying from this site and it won't be my last time either

Great BANG for your BUCK!!!

The Dual XDVD8183 Headunit is an outstanding product for the price.

The layout and display of the face when the screen is closed is very smiple yet very effective and stylish at the same time, a rare feature unless you're paying top dollar!

The motorised 7" touchscreen is another additional bonus usually only seen in very expensive Headunits. I have had this product over 6 months now using it everyday and I have never had a single problem with the motorised screen (which I still use today) which came as a surprise as I've had several units in the past with motorised screens that have lasted a month or two before becoming manual pull-outs (very frustrating when you pay top $$$). The ability to not only adjust the viewing angle but also storing your prefered position and also the automatic opening (which can be enabled/disabled) and closing upon the accessory power being 'live'.

The user interface is well layed out and easy to use even for the technologically impeared. The ability to control your iPod (see iPod Compatability) through the 7" touchscreen is very convenient & simply awesome. Alternatively if your iPod is not compatable you always have the option of the 3.5mm stero cable which you can plug into your iPod or any music player through the headphone jack.

The additional accessories provided like RCA extension unit make thing easier for those who do not install the unit themselves as they can easily "plug & play" any RCA device without have to fish for the connection points at the rear of the unit once it is installed. The remote is great for anyone who loves to show off their sound system in the boot but still like to have the head unit at the front of the car, the remote will even work through 10mm plexiglass so perfect for that custom install.

For those security concious people you have the ability to add a Security Code to the unit.

The addtional features such as Bluetooth Connectivity & Rear Camera input make this unit a all-rounder.

Overall I wound recommend this unit to anyone on a tight budget who wants a good bang for their buck! It's definately worth the money!!!

Somewhat Satisfied

If you go searching for a song on your ipod too far down the list, then usually it will play a different song. The screen has alot of glare, and you cant use the scroll bar on the side to kinda ballpark search for where the song might be. Which would be nice since people usually have thousands of songs on their ipod. The only efficient way to search is to have a playlist for everything and remember what songs are where.

Sweet set for the price

Cant beat the price. This product is a fraction of the price of other flip ups. Had this installed in my old car. Was very impressed with the structure of it and the stability and strength. Not very impressed with the EQ's or the time for screens to load. Great picture and sounds pretty decent for the price. Overall....8/10

This thing is amazing.

I just got this and put it in my car today and there was not one thing wrong with it. I was even able to bypass the video safety by grounding the e-brake wire and entering a code in the unit. I have my ps2 hooked up to it and its picture is simply perfect. I would highly suggest buying the product it is more the worth the money.

Good system

I've had this head unit for over 6 months now and I really love it. The iPod hookup is great and it does charge the iPod when hooked up even though the specs say it doesn't. Bluetooth works well but you can't expect it to be perfect, you just have to speak up a bit. The only thing that can be is when your scrolling through songs with the wheel it makes a slightly annoying sound that there is no way to shut off. Overall I think this is a great headunit and would recommend it to anyone.

VERY NICE TOUCH SCREEN DECK, VERY NICE LOOK, IPOD CONNECTION IS A VERY NICE TOUCH AS WELL, I HAVE PLAYED DVDS AND THE PICTURE IS VERY SHARP. BUY THIS !! ITS THE BEST BANG FOR YA BUCK ..!!!!!

GOOD RADIO

the radio still work but when i play a dvd movie it says that i cant listen to a movie whgile driving even if i connect the wire to the arm brake... :( but all the other features works and good quality on the backing camera ^^)

Dual DVD

The display is good, but the iPod feature part of it is horrible, my alpine deck was a lot easier to find songs in my iPod...Overall I'd give it a 4 out of 5.

Dual XDVD8183

Easy to install, everything works fine, i've connected my PS2 and it works great on the radio. screen contrast is good and the layout of the icons in the menu is easy to understand and work with. The touch screen reacts very well and when the screen opens it doesn't make a lot of noise. Overall a great radio to have, clear picture and easy to use.

great buy for the price

I thing. there super easy to hook up thanks to the built in brain. I love the built in blue tooth. your friends will freak out when you pull up and your talking to them through your sound system. very easy product to use.

Pretty Good

I bought this radio not to long ago and it works pretty good. Looks great and works great. Love the blue. The only thing is that it does have a High Pass Filter. Other then that great buy for the price.

GOOD Product

my friends has this indash dvd. It works great. he bought it for 650dollas . but i found a good deal here on sonic. So i will recieve it soon. Cant wait for it :)
