Nice product
I have a 2005 HONDA CRV with 95k miles and when I took it to the local car audio store - lowest priced option installed was over $400 with HALF the function. So after research found this product - paired with a Axxess ASWC for steering wheel controls for $200. I am VERY pleased. Setting default audio levels on FM, AUX and AV input was nice touch to balance out music source levels; HD radio is cool; hands free calling is weak but functional - I'm 6'2" so my seat is farther from the built-in mic - no business calls but great to pick up a quick call; paired easily with my iPhone, steaming music over Bluetooth is nice; don't even plan to use CD since a thumb drive is easier.
Not sure why folks blast the display lighting - no issues here but would have been nice to hook up available dimmer control wire. Price to value ratio is HIGH for so many functions. First car radio I have ever installed and the radio was a breeze - ASWC took some work as the instructions we're real clear. Did not use the included mounting dash kit (Acura/Honda) - bought another one locally for $15 (Honda / Toyota) that had better screw in positions that allowed me to use the same factory metal brackets. Just couldn't understand that bag of parts on the Acura / Honda mounts - most likely user error. Also added new power outlet in hidden Honda enclosure to mount and power my Sirius radio from the existing power supply. The Electronics Installation Kit is a must have if your a newbee like me. Nice fun project for my 14 year old son and I ...

Great entry,
This is a fantastic entry device at a low price.
Pros:
Bluetooth - works fantastically, I can stream pandora from my droid to the device, navigation cues come in perfectly, and it even switches over to hands free on a phone call.
MP3CDs - Work very well and are able to browse while still playing, a nice feature my higher end products lack.
HDRadio - when it works its great, but expect to get some sort of antenna post or something, because the reception sucks.
USB - works great with jump drives and mini hard drives.
Cons:
audio clarity could be better, it works but doesnt sound as good as my higher end JVC or Kenwood head units.
display is hard to see during the day.

Packed with features
Great value! I would pay $160 for it without losing sleep. Ive had it for a month. Lets go down the features list.
1 HD radio, the only thing that makes it worth it is the Tag button. sound quality is great when driving is the city, countryside it goes in and out of HD to regular.
2 Ipod control works like a charm, I can control from radio or ipod.
3 Aux jack is on the face plate, I wish it was in back, works good.
4 USB port plays files off of a flash drive, useful.
5 Blue tooth is perfect, when I turn on my car it auto connects with my phone. when I make a call it puts it on the speakers and the mic picks up my voice good. Pauses music and displays phone number for incoming calls.
6 Cd works like its supposed to.
7 Three sets of pre amp RCA. I used the sub woofer RCA. I can change the power level of the sub from the stereo seperate from the bass, this is handy because some songs I want more or less base from the sub. Turning it all the way down turn off the sub ( I do this when Im sitting in my car listening to music at school in between class when the car is off, subs will kill a battery within a half hour).
8 Looks. The blue lighting is cool and so is the design, ( my opinion Duals look way cooler than any other brand) Some other reviews say that the buttons feel cheap... they are fine. would buy again. PS free shipping to CA makes up for the pricey taxes. Thanks sonic.

Love the Stereo!
I am happy with every feature on this unit. I have had tons of different radios and just went looking for a cheap deck with USB socket. I was impressed since I opened the box. Looks good and performs even better. I don't know what it sounds like in a car but on my Harley it rocks! Haven't tried the remote...but it even has a remote!
Great quality for a great price!

Bad reception with FM stations and Bluetooth..
Not recommended; I had an older type music system in my car, so I wanted to upgrade to a newer model with extra features such as HD radio, cell phone Bluetooth and USB. This radio offered it all at a great price.
BUT, the FM reception on stations is not good and the cell phone Bluetooth can't be heard very well by the other person I'm calling.
I only liked the HD radio feature and USB/Line-In.
Dual needs to increase the sensitivity to pick up radio stations.

Great value, average performance
Great value for the money. For 129 you get all the bells and whistles. CD has good sound. iPod connectivity is great, you can actually bluetooth your music over. The only problem is the hands free feature due to the internal microphone, it is very annoying for other people to hear especially on the highway. I would go for something with an external mic.

No problems with it looks great. HD Radio cuts in and out but over all nice. Bluetooth mic sucks. But dont really use it. Rt price is 259.99 so great savings

iPhone User Comments
I have to say that this is a decent upgrade from my stock Honda radio. Unfortunately, the USB interface and supplied cable doesn't support the iPhone 3GS... but it does appear to work fine via the Aux and Bluetooth interfaces.... I was just hoping I could use the one USB cable for AV control and charging of my iPhone :(
Other than that installation was pretty straight forward and so far so good on everything else...

Good Value
Application: 2001 Accord, Bluetooth phone, HD Radio and iPod Control
Pros:
-Ipod Control is intuitive and works well.
-Bluetooth works well as does caller ID, easy to set up
-HD Radio with iTunes Tagging is a great feature. Its nice to be able to tag a new song you like.
-Sonicelectronix provides all the accessories for installation which is super convenient.
-Stereo Bluetooth. I do not use this much, but it is a cool feature.
-The faceplate is well laid out.
-USB works great for charging devices.
Cons:
-Display is somewhat hard to read in the daylight.
-The scrolling text is almost impossible to read
Note: For iPod Control two good options are to either operate in iPod mode or Aux mode. The advantage to iPod mode is that if you change modes or take a call, the iPod gets paused. The advantage to running in Aux mode is that you can use the iPod for navigation which is easier to read and it still charges.

Good Value, lots of features.
This unit was very easy to install and setup. Lots of advanced features like Blue tooth, iphone controls, etc. The 4 channel output was nice too, one I enabled it. I installed this with my factory installed speakers and it worked great.

Dual XHD7714 very good product
very good product. The sound quality is amazing and also the hd radio the only negative thing about this unit is the bluetooth it seems like either the mic is to far away from the person or the quality of the mic is not so great. i used it a few times in the beginning and i had to disconnect it from my phone because the other person could hardly hear me. i think this unit should come with an external mic for the bluetooth so you could bring it closer to the mouth and that would make this unit stand out compared to the more expensive ones.

I love this head unit!
I live in Pittsburgh and have no issues with the HD. Having the usb input let me get rid of my i pod and Cd's. the scrolling through the folders is fast and convenient. I currently have a 6gb flash drive connected. blue tooth is very good on both ends as long as your windows are up and not a lot of background noise. This is by far my favorite head unit. my brother has a brand new sabb suv with a mrsp of 48,000 and my 150.00 unit, feature wise, blows his out of the water! best deal out there! buy this and you will not regret it!

great for the price
Works great so far, Connects to my droid easily so I have Pandora on there constantly. Barely use the HD and did have reception problems then I found out it was my antenna connection. Took the radio and cleaned my antenna connection with some sand paper and now it sounds awesome
Color change would have been good but no other cons

Love it!
I'm not a radio tekkie. All I can say it does everything. I installed in a 1997 Toyota Celica and it works great and fits well. Especially love the USB port.

SUPER BUY
The best money I've ever spent on a car audio product. Worth every penny. So many great features.

best bang for the buck
Built in HD radio tuner so you have hd stations out of the box.
controls are fairly easy to master
love the choice to control IPOD from the head unit or the IPOD
USB input works great for flash drives
bluetooth phone pairing idea is nice (with incoming phone call, music is automatically paused or muted and callers phone number is displayed on head unit and ring tone is played through the speakers. you then either answer or ignore call via control on head unit. you hear the caller over your car speakers which is nice but i found myself having to lean close to built in microphone on head unit to be heard on other end)

Dual XHD7714 - Works good (if you ONLY drive at night)
All the built in features of the unit worked perfectly in my 2002 Civic. The Bluetooth, AUX, USB, HD everything worked great. The frustarting part is that the readout is absolutely NOT readable in the daylight. The durability is a 3 because all the buttons on the faceplate require an excessive amount of force and they sound and feel cheap. If Dual can make all these features work well I think they can certainly make the display and buttons better and this is why I rate the Ease of Use as a 1. I am returning it to exchange it with either a Kenwood or Pioneer and will purchase the separate HD tuner.

Sounds Great
This radio came with all the features I wanted, and it sounds great. The installation kit fit perfectly in my Toyota, too.

Sounds better on paper!
I thought I was being very careful to select a unit that had great features and not harsh on the pockets. After reading several reviews on here, C********, A*****, etc. I purchased this unit. The two stars are for the features, but the bluetooth works great for streaming music, but ineffective if you want to have a telephone conversation. The other person can't hear you. Maybe an external mic would improve things. Hd radio is good when the stations come in..there is a definite sound difference when it switches back and forth. Just annoying. The construction of the unit is a little cheapishly feeling. But my main complaint..I had a non-bose Clarion system in my 2003 Nissan Maxima. I thought it was just my iPod connection or a distorted mp3 download. So I put in an original cd and still lackluster results. Quickly returned this unit and going to either a JVC KD-R610 or KD-R900. It doesn't have all the other features..but with the USB port, im pretty satisfied. Just beware of Dual head units..sounds better on paper..that's about it!

Superb value for money
Bought this for the HD radio and the iPod interface, and because I know Dual from their Hi-Fi amplifiers. Which are very good. So the sound quality is excellent and easily run my Bose car speakers. The HD radio is superb and I am keenly aware of the difference between normal radio and HD so that was all good. Complaints. Not many, but the front panel is bulky and stands out from the dashboard. If I recess it any further the front will not open properly so I've concluded this unit needs to be stuck almost a half inch out from the dash. But putting aside that minor problem I think this is a very smart buy if you want the same features that caught my eye. No question it is a bargain.

Phone is worthless
The unit is not that bad if you never plan on using the Bluetooth phone feature. Yes, the microphone built into the deck completely sucks and makes the feature unusable. I could deal with a "canned" sounding voice, but the phone mic is so bad no one can actually hear what is being said. Everything else on this deck functions as it should, but the phone is completely useless.
The USB feature is nice and works as one would expect, but I have had issues in extreme cold when below 10F.

WOULD RECOMMEND EVERYTHING WORKS GREAT ON RADIO EXCEPT BLUETOOTH NOT THE BEST QUALITY.

Great product for price!!!
Easy to install and liked that everything is built in unlike the jvc and other brands. In this price range, there is nothing better! hd radio does cut out when you get farther out from the city but so does my friends pioneer head unit. blue tooth works fantastic and love the aux and usb input. I just added a 20 GB hd to it and play all of my songs through it with no issues at all. no big lag with scrolling through chapters. owned it only about a weak now so not real sure on durability.
sound quality is good when placed on the loud setting and settings are adjusted
CONS:
oversize volume would be nice if it controlled more than just volume.
and if the color scheme could be changed to factory colors.
other than that, A great buy

Dual XHD7714
Way good deal! You know , i am a little bit picky about my stereos . I've had a Pioneer DEH-P800PRS about 3x more $ and a Pioneer DEH-P980BT about 3x more $. I must say I am very satisfied with this stereo. Sure it doesnt have all racing cars or dolphins on the display but, thats okay. You wont regret it!!

Great price for the options
It has everything you need (BT, MP3 player, HD radio, USB, 3.5 Aux, Ipod compatible) at a great price. Only complaint is that the harness from the receiver does NOT have a line for the power antenna, so when I switch on the radio, I get little to no reception.
