Eclipse CD3414G / CD3414

For the price, this is a great product. Good sound, easy to install. However, mine arrived with the ASM feature activated. This automatically turns the unit on with the ignition and starts playing a FM radio station. There are no instructions on how to deactivate it or at least program it to a station I would prefer. I have pushed every button on the unit to no avail. An owner's manual should be included with the unit. However Sonic has it for download on the item page.

Great Entry Level Deck

When it comes to entry level cd receivers on the market, this is by far one of the best in terms of functionality, performance, and features. The ESN feature alone, makes you wonder why other companies aren't using the same technology.

Good headunit

I bought this headunit simply as a cheap way to hook up my sub amplifier to the stereo, give a little more power to the 4 door speakers (aftermarket Pioneers), and let me hook up an Aux cable to plug in to my iPod. It has done the job very well, though I kinda wish I would have bought a more expensive one so I could have more capabilities and possibly more power for the speakers. Wiring and installation was a little interesting with this because it does not come with a manual. I knew that when buying it and was fine with, just be sure you're comfortable with figuring it out.

great value

bought this as a cheap option till i could afford a more expensive one. was incredibly surprised by the sound quality over the stock HU. the stock speakers sound 10x better which surprised me, cause the use to sound horrible and i figured i would replace them with cheap but decent speakers but now there is no need. but despite all its options it would be nice to find a rather inexpensive stereo like this one with 6 channels cause my car has 6 speaker locations stock but all i can find is expensive high priced HUs but a cheap amp fixed that. anyway would definitly recommend to anyone looking for a inexpensive stereo with plenty to offer. its also incredibly tough was dropped several times before it was finally installed all from 5ft high and was stepped on once and still works great.

Very Very Impressed!!

I was very impressed about the sound quality I got from this unit...... it's beyond my expectation!! I am very pleased to have it, it's much better than $200.00 car stereo I have seen in the past. Very stylish! Installation is a piece of cake even though there is NO manual. It took me 30 minutes to install the whole unit and enjoy listening to my favorite music!!

Better than anticipated!

Great unit that I would recommend to anyone. Plays CDs and discs burned with MP3s flawlessly. For the price, you can't beat it with a stick. Only thing I wish it had was a removable faceplate... not a huge issue for me, though. Also, the controls are fairly intuitive though I've thought to myself 'huh?' a few times trying to navigate settings, etc.. Once you get used to it though, it's becomes a non-issue.

Looks good, but I guess I just got unlucky...

I bought this head unit based on all the great reviews, but I guess I just got a dud. I hooked it all up (and yes, I know what I'm doing), turned the key and all I got was 3 fast clicks and some smoke. The trim that goes around the faceplate (If you can call it that), didn't seem to fit either. I didn't mess with it much though.

But sonicelectronix handled my return very well, and everything else I ordered is working great! They'll be getting my business again for sure.

Highly recommended!

This unit sounds as good or better than other comparable units costing three to four times as much. The installation is easy and I love the Ipod accessory jack which comes in handy for my Motorola Android also. There is no other near audiophile quality head unit that I know of that is even close to this one in terms of ease of use and user features aimed at the budget minded consumer.

Eclipse CD3414G is a no brainer @ $75 shipped.

I dont know how sonicelectronix can sell them this cheap with the plug and free shipping but I wont complain. I bought 2 of these from them and my brother bought 1. I will tell everyone about this great deal. The sound quality is great for a car cd player. I would guess that no other player for $75 sounds this good. This has a lot of features and seems to be built really well. It hasnt skipped once and even tells you the name of the cd and song, on some cds. Probably just newer enhanced cds. I give this product an A+ and I also give sonicelectronix an A+. I had these units 3 days after I bought them on ebay.

I bought this head unit to get me by while i was building my truck and well to tell the truth i sold it quick to a friend he heard it and liked the way it sounded so just up and bought it from me it is easy to use and has excellent sound quality for the price cant go wrong

Eclipse Radio

I would recommend this company because, 1. The product was exactly as explained. It goes great with the amp and ipod because it has inputs and outputs externally. 2. Great communication and told exactly when it would be shipped. 3. The price was the lowest i found. The only con i have is the product didn't have a remote, it was explained in the product info that it didn't come with one.

Excellent Headunit

I have owned this HU for about 6 months, and it has run strong the entire time. Excellent sound quality and great price. Would recommend as a very good starter HU.

Nice quality for the price

This is a quality unit for a good price. I needed something simple and basic, and this looks good and works well. The feel is solid and the sound is good. The dark silver color is a near match to the color of the car. As the listing says, there is no manual, and so far I have not been able to locate one from Eclipse's website or online. So I am not sure how to work the security CD feature yet, but I can figure it out if I really want.

Overall I really like this product and wish I had a better system to hook it up to. Right now it is just connected to some low end speakers with no amp. But it sounds good and you can tell it is better audio than what you'd get for the same price at Wal-Mart.

this unit has great sound and is very user friendly, but it did not come with a owners manual. great value for the money.

I've had this product for over 6 months and I've noticed that when you have it turned up for about an hour the CD player with start to skip and even stop playing until it cools but it OK for the price

I had in mind one radio (Kenwood)which Sonic Electronix carried and a box pops up; For the same price, you may want to consider this one (Eclipse CD3414G). What a novel idea and what a deal! Went with the alternative recommendation which had many more FAB's (Features, advantages and benefits) and a better warranty for the same price. Unbelievable! Shipping was faster than they predicted! Thank you for a great experience!

Awesome

Great product....incredible sound. The only downside is it doesn't have a low, mid, and high EQ. Only a bass and treble adjustment. But just increasing the bass by one will make quite a difference. The product is definitely better than most stereos for this price, but I was very disappointed when I received it. It came in a box with the stereo, parts, screws, and wires. No instructions whatsoever. You basically have to hardwire everything to the harness that you have to buy. The product itself is amazing.

Even though the deck did not come with an instruction manual it was easy to install and easy to figure out how the program it. It has been working great ever since I installed it.

Great Value in a Radio/cd player

I purchased this item because of what it offered for the price. The only draw back with my purchase is there was no instructions with the unit. it was a learn as you go type thing. Even with that, it did not take long to figure out how to operate the unit. The sound quality is good, it has good reception range and the CD's sound incredible. No matter how good a product is, there is always room for improvement someplace. For this reason it will not receive the highest rating.

Great product for great price

I love this head unit. Sounds fantastic, easy to work, plays cd's that skip in my other players! Easy to hook up with color coordinated wires and FREE factory wire harness included in the deal. There is nothing bad I can say about this unit. I couldn't be happier with this purchase. Compares very favorably to other units that cost a lot more.

Cool and Priced Right

I purchased this stereo from Sonic due to their recommendation and I'm glad I did! This stereo rocks and doesn't skip while playing your CD's. The installation is easy, since the installation package that Sonic sends with it. This stereo is a high dollar value at low cost price!

Great Value!

I don't think you could buy a better CD/MP3/Radio for the price. It sounds great and is easy to use. The only problem I have with it is the blue LCD display background lightens from the normal driver's perspective. This is only an aesthetic complaint as you can still see the display fine. It is only noticeable at night.

eclipse rocks

I just recently purchase a the head unit, and I had to let you guys know how happy I am with this puchase. This was a great buy for the price. I absolutly love it. No problem to operate, great sound quality, and a breeze to install with the FREE install kit and wiring harness. But what has really impressed me with this unit is the fact that it plays cd's that skip in most any other player I've tried to play them in. One old one by Led Zeppelin that is rare and live which was burned by a friend for me that I thought I'd never get to listen to uninterrupted again. It won't even play in my son's $200 Pioneer head unit, but plays in my $75 unit bought from you guys!! HA!!

Best Choice you will make

I bought this stereo over six months ago and I could not love it more. Eclipse is not a very well known brand, but their stuff is better than Kenwood and Pioneer. The pictures online make it look really weird, but I assure you in person it looks much sleeker. Besides looks, the stereo has a lot of power and is extremely user friendly. Unlike most receivers, to change the Bass and Treble you just click in the volume knob and spin to the left or right, where as on Pioneers, you have to go in menu after menu after menu. I am also driving 4 Kicker door speakers, a Kicker sub, 2 Pioneer Subs, and 2 amplifiers off of this stereo and the sound is incredible. I recommend this over any other stereo including a $200 Pioneer or Kenwood (mostly for power and ease of use). It is also really nice to have a built in tracking device and window stickers that are included, so if anyone steels it, relay the information to Eclipse and your set. The only con to this is that there are no instructions/installation manual included, so have it professionally installed, or make sure you have a wiring guide as well as the wiring harness for your car.

Great value; Great Unit and very happy with it!

I had a problem with my amp in a Toyota Avalon and replaced a factory radio with this one and it has worked perfectly. Even with no exterior pre amp the unit power is perfect!

Not Bad.

This is a decent deck, not the best. But for the price you can't beat it, i would like something a little nicer but i needed a deck and didn't have much money at the time and i don't see a need to replace it because it does the job.

You get what you pay for

Had this deck for 8 months now. Picked it up new and it was discounted because SE had a lot of em with no instruction manual.

Pros: Great audio quality for the price-range. Pushes the stock speakers well. Looks clean; not like an amusement park in the middle of your car/truck.

Cons: After a few months the backlighting (parking/headlights on) started flashing. AUX in is faulty and shorts out portable music player.

The reason I purchased this was so I could hook up my flash mp3 player. I tried a different player and different rca interconnects and the problem persisted where the player would get shorted out after some static. It has to be the deck. Back to making mp3 discs...

The flashing backlighting doesn't affect me since I installed it in my work truck and I'm hardly out after the sun goes down. If it were in my personal I would disco the wire and fly the deck in the dark. Not cool.

Wouldn't recommend this deck to a friend, but it's been a good value after getting to grips with making mp3 cd's again

easy to use

This product was a breeze to install even without the instructions. Also the controlls are more intuitive than the factory radio in my Focus. You can get a factory manual download for Eclipse CD 3414 which is almost identical at the Eclipse web site from their tech dept.I've only owned the product for a month so can't comment on "durability".

Crazy bang for the buck

Swapped this deck in my Ford F-150 work truck as a cheap way to get digital quality (CD/Aux-In) output to the speakers. Features are basic. Deck looks very clean with no motorized face to worry about breaking. Buttons and knobs all have great feel for such an inexpensive deck.

I thought I was going to get some new speakers to go with this thing, but after hearing the stock speakers (no amp, hu power only) I'm going to have to pass. It sounds terrific. And even if it gets stolen or I get fired I'm only out a benjamin and some time to solder the harness.

Nothing but good things to say about Sonic Electronix.

Great Car Stereo

I am very impressed with this stereo... especially for the cost. Right now, I am running it through stock speakers, but it sounds much better than the Aiwa that I replaced. Everything sounds great and it is pretty easy to use.

what a deal

Real nice deck, lots of RCA's! plus an ipod one. Basic, but being its an Eclipse you know its good quality. Cant beat the price, and they included the harness and install housing. I won't be leaving this in when i sell my car.
