Good sound, easy to use interface and no problems at all

The following review is for a previous version (TID-500).

This is a great product, it has good sound, was easy to install in my car, but it lacks small features like screen dim when its not being operated, and you cant configure what you it to do when its being turned on, like start playing from the SD card and not always start the radio(Which I cannot use yet because I dont have US to EU antenna adapter, this did not come in the package).
Im not sure if the iPod feature is working with an iPhone, I have only tested with iPhone 4, but its going to a infinite loop of loading the iphone.
I haven't got the nav/tv box yet, but im concidering buying it soon if it works in scandinavia :)

OK for the $$$, Sound Quality Suffers

The following review is for a previous version (TID-500).

Well, I have had this installed for about 3 weeks. The DVD quality is very good. Touch screen is easy to navigate. The problem is the equalizer and speaker setup. Yes, you can run A/V cables for frt,rr,sub all separately however, there is a very real lack of sound quality control. The only adjustment you can get is treble or bass. There are 4 preset EQ's like Jazz, Rock, Classic, etc. The sound when playing a dvd is also very low, you have to crank it till about 30, (40 is max) to hear most dialogue. The front bezel is kinda flimsy and each time I adjust a setting it rocks back a bit. Doesn't make me feel too good about it. If I had installed it earlier, I would have sent it back. I waited too long to RMA it. I have better SQ out of my Sony Explode HU. Personally, I think it is crap. The pros are still there, you can get a touch screen DVD player that will provide entertainment for passengers. It's not horrible, but It's hard to recommend this to anyone. P.S. this didn't fit my dash without some modification (removal of plastic behind factory HU to clear the depth of this one). May not fit yours without similar hacksaw action.

Good features, some annoying flaws

The following review is for a previous version (TID-500).

I bought this based on it's features and playable file formats. It Plays songs and videos off of a SD, and USB which is what I wanted. (as well as DVD, CD, Radio etc.) The Problems with this are you can't see the screen in the day with any sunlight. (my cheap gps unit works just fine in a worst location) At night the Screen brightness can be a big distraction reducing your night vision, even with the screen set to it's lowest setting (dim 3)... This would be a perfect product if the screen quality was better, or you could turn off the screen at night if you wanted, or better yet a night mode similar to my cheap GPS. If the graphics were skinable or able to customize. Can anyone read the clock? Seriously? A firmware update would be nice. How about Rockbox capability? Most of the problems could be fixed in software... Just a suggestion...

Farenheit TID-530

The following review is for a previous version (TID-530).

This product is strange, sometimes it work perfect and sometimes it doesn't. It's random play seem to get confused at times and repeats the same songs on DVD MP3's. Also I haven't been able to get this unit to play WMA files, yet it suppose to play them. If I was to choose I would go with the Power Acoustik PTD-5300, it performed better.

Good buy!!

Recieved this DVD player in speedy time, thank you Sonic! Farenheit did a good job @ making it very user friendly and easy on the eyes. Works as detailed in specs, love this unit it fits perfectly in a 95 GMC Jimmy! Comes with noise filter built in fuse, very well built. Now i'll have to upgrade the factory speakers due to the fact this unit slams out the wattage!

Great stuff

I installed the unit in my 2011 Ranger 3 weeks ago, perfect fit! It came with the harness and adapter kit for fee, which I would've spent $30-40 on alone. What a plus! As for the controls, features, and sound quality, I give it 5 stars. Sounds good, looks great, and does everything it says it does. It plays my iTouch/MP3 player just fine. Didn't need an extra wire or anything, just the regular aux port or USB cable. Your iTouch should've come with one already, no biggie. The control itself is kind of laggy, but works nonetheless. Probably my only complaint. Other than that, all pros for this one. Don't bother to pay more for the Power Acoustik, paying more for the same thing. Trust me, just like Toyota and Lexus, it's just the name, but same stuff under the hood. ;)
