It's OK...

I found the FiiO E3 Portable Headphone Amplifier to be okay. It does amplify the input signal (maybe 10%), but to no extent I would write home about. If you want a small, portable amplifier and only need a small increase in amplification to suit your listening pleasures, then the FiiO E3 Portable Headphone Amplifier would be for you. However, if you want or need a much bigger (louder) sound out of your headphones, then get something else. For what I needed, I'm satisfied (especially at the price).

FiiO E3 Portable Headphone Amplifier

This item is junk. Did not increase the battery life of the MP3 player at all. Just makes the volume go up and it sounds louder. Save your money and buy more batteries with it.

Solved my problem

I used that tiny amplifier between the laptop and driving two (Koss) headphones (visiting in a nursing home). Now I use it by myself and am glad I found it and bought it..

Excellent Price!

The price alone warrants a five star rating. For what you get, you can't dispute it much. It happens to put more attention to the lower frequencies and my hip-hop/electronic music loving friends are amazed by it. With a treble heavy equalizer setting it is more evened out and therefore very livable for me. I'm impressed and got my money's worth which wasn't hard. One day I'll graduate to one of higher quality but this can make me wait little longer.

Worth its cosst

Despite the mixed reviews I saw, I couldn't get over the fact that it was listed at such a great price. it works pretty good for my portable headphones. I'm just using some earbuds that came with my iPod and it helps. The price is so cheap so what are these people stressin over, you just got an amp for the price of a mcdonalds burger

Not Bad!

This amplifier really enhances the sound, bass and clarity of your headphones/music device. I'm very impressed. My only con is that it doesn't have a on/off switch. As soon you plug in your headphones, the amplifier comes on. I've gone through three AAA batteries fast because I would forget to unplug everything and leave it on overnight.

A great product

I need a preamp to boost my MP3 player to feed my auto radio and this amp did the job. I have not tried it on my home system but I plan to.

Good and Compact

This is a great little amp that can be used for a few different purposes.
It amplifies the audio signal from pretty much any source you want, like an ipod, computer or even a microphone. I used it as a compact pre-amp for my DSLR mic, and it gave me a much better signal to noise ratio. the only downsides is that you can't control the volume level in the E3 like some of the other fiio amps out there. Overall the size and simplicity of the E3 (and the price) make it a great option for anyone looking to amp up their volume.
