Final Audio Design Say What!

In the $600 and under price range these are the best closed backs i've heard. Great detail, great dept for a closed back, intimate vocals as mids are forward, treble sparkes but never gets harsh, and bass is tight and detailed. They sound great on every genre unless you like a lot of bass. Better than the sennheiser hd530vb and i like better than the Sonorous VI. More well rounded. The only thing I don't like is how the pads touch my ears.

Good Recommendation

Bought these under Sonic's recommendation. They work really well with my mac without an amp. Such precise bass. These headphones are fun and it will be fun to go through and listen to my collection again. For sure i'm going to add an amp later to make them even sound better.

Are these closed backs?

I'm a fan of these. The soundstage is wide for a closed back headphone especially in this price range. Vocals, drums and detail are really where these shine to me. I've been studying for finals the past week and I can't take these things off. I've been on a Tidal binge when I should be studying. My only complaint is these headphones are addicting.

Sound better than they look

The style is pretty basic... nothing fancy. They are really comfortable with the large ear cups. The leather is really comfortable, but I don't think it is real leather (it should be for this price). I've been able to listen for a long time without my ears getting all sweaty and gross so I can only assume that the pads breathe well. The headphones are big though. I can't imagine traveling with them

The sound quality is top notch. Very enjoyable with or without an amp. Vocals are crisp and clear. Bass is deep. Soundstage is pretty accurate. It is really easy to get caught up in the music and detach from the world.

The headphones are kinda like a a Porsche Panamera, from the outside it is big, has a hump, and looks like a cheap gimmick. Once you get in and start driving, you forget what the car looks like because it is one of the finest cars you have ever driven... or in the case of the headphones.. one of the finest headphones you have ever heard.
