These subs are some of the best i have hear, in my life. I have had them one week. with a JL Audio HD1200/1 Monoblock Class D 1200 Watt Amplifier pushing two tens in a enclosure without a port. I listen to Rock to Metal. Like Rush, Tool, and others. Any music with a bad ass drummer sound INCREDIBLE!!! More like LIMITLESS. I have Focal Utopias 6.5s in the front and the are pure enjoyment. I have not hear any distortion or off sound at all. Also have a Kenwood DNX997XR and its great also.

Amazing Sound Quality!!

I was finally able to install a system consisting of Focal Utopia speakers. The system consisted of one pair of the beryllium tweeters and 3.5" midrange speakers that I built fiberglass pods for on the A pillars, and a pair of the 8" woofers in door pods I made. He also had me build a box for 2 of these Utopia 10" subwoofers. I used the 8 channel Focal processor for tuning and for all the crossover setup. I used the 6.900 6 channel Focal amp for the front stage and the 1.2000 amp for the subwoofers. More power than they are technically rated for, but if its properly tuned and you know the limits of the speakers its perfectly fine. This was by far the best sounding system Ive built in 25 years, and these woofers are unlike any Ive used. The overall sound is incredible and while they are in a small sealed box, with the processor's tuning ability I was able to get very impressive lower bass notes than I was expecting. The only other subwoofer setup Ive had or built that rivals these in sound quality was my own pair of JL Audio 12w7's in a vented box, each with its own JL 1000/1 amp. They had basically equal sound quality, but they also had the most volume of any 2 speaker sound quality system Ive ever heard. They made your eyes shake in your head and the roof of my Yukon would flex over an inch. Overal, if you want the best no comprimise sounding subwoofers on the planet and only have room for a very small box, this is your ticket right here. I would love to double up and do a system with 4 of them and 2 of the 2000 watt Focal amps. Then the volume capabilities would be on par with other high end subs in big vented boxes, while still having the best sound quality.
