Goshers 3016P

This is the four sensor blind spot avoidance system from Goshers. First for the good. I got a good price for twwo of these kits when it was on sale at Sonic. I had a professional installer install the kit here in the DC area and there is only one company in this region I would trust to do the job right and that is Safe and Sound in Manassas, VA. I have used them multiple times in the past for several of our vehicles. THe system works pretty well in that it not only detects a vehicle in your blind spot, but also gives and indicator as to which side the car is approaching. Both the turn signal and brake circuits will activate the sensor system. There is an approximately 1.5 second delay upon detection to not give a secondary false alarm (which is nice and works well). Also, because of the front sensors, the system knows whether you are overtaking a car or whether a car is overtaking you and adjusts accordingly. From what I have seen there is only one downside to the system. When you are at a stop, either the brake light or the turn signal circuits will still activate the sensors. Specifically, as you are at a dead stop in traffic, any cars passing on the left or right will activate the alarms. I contacted the OEM to find out if they intended to put a GPS based circuit cutout on this system to shut it down while at a stop. The short answer was - NO. Frankly, they should reconsider this since that is the only improvement to this system that would really make it top notch and almost completely Murphyproof. So you might be wondering, has it earned its keep yet? The answer is yes. The wife was ready to make a lane change and signaled a turn and was about to move the car into the next lane when the alarm went off - accident avoided.

Good aftermarket blind spot assist system

Decent Price.
It took 4 hours by a professional to be installed.
Gosher's support was helpful to answers the questions that my installer had.
Works fine on my wife's 2004 Toyota Echo.

Good buy

This is a very good aftermarket product that will assist the driver alerting them on approaching vehicles on their blind spot. This product is not the ultimate device but one must practice safety at all times. This item was the installer's first install device. We had a few problems with the right rear tuning lamp going in and out but the installer is working on correcting the problem.

Fantastic

I bought this kit, not knowing how well it was going to work. A few searches on the internet for a blind spot monitor kept bringing up this brand, so I decided to take a chance. I looked, and they are the only ones who have a real company presence, and have dealers around the nation. I called ahead of time for an installer in my area - and they had one. When the package came, I took it over to get the install done on our Camry.

It's probably the best thing my wife and I did. It works great and warns us when something is next to us and not seen. I'm going to make sure we have these in all of our cars. We've had it for over a month and it works great.

If you are skeptical, don't be. The tech at Goshers worked with my guy before and after installation. They really have good service and seem to stand behind the product even after we bought it.

Gosshers Advanced Blind Spot Warning System

Overall, it is a good system. Professional installation is recommended - I agree. The biggest complaint is that at a stop with either the brake depressed or the turn signal on, any car passing on the left or right will give a warning buzzer. I wish Goshers integrated a GPS or speedometer sensor to disable the system while at a stop. Maybe in an upgrade?

It works 85% of time.

This system requires precise installation of sensors. The more precise they are installed the better results. Even with premium package I still get false alarms (of course not as many as with two sensor version, I guess) and some times it won't detect vehicles in blind spots. But I haven't used it long enough to make a final judgement. It's been installed on my Infiniti FX35 and I was planning to install it on my wife's Lexus, but now I need time to test it and to think twice.

Excellent device

Since it has been installed in April 2014 I have taken my vehicle on various road trips and the system is an excellent tool. I would not be caught without such a device. I would recommend this product to every car owner throughout the world.

Works as expected.

This upgraded four sensor system was the second I purchased. The first was the earlier version and is installed on my Prius C.., no real blind spots. This upgraded version was installed on my sister's Honda Odessey, which does have blind spots. She had some concern at first with the left hand indicator flashing a lot when she was on the freeway, no beeps and the right hand sensor doing nothing.

I test drove it around town to check it out and found both sensors to be working properly. The up graded four sensor unit only indicates when something is in the blind spot area AND NOT also in range of the front sensor. My Prius with the two sensor system will light up when a curb is close and when a car is right beside me. The upgraded system only indicates when something is picked up by the rear (blind spot) sensors and not by the front sensors. When turn signals are used and something triggers the sensor system on that side of the car, you get a beep beep, to let you know to check again...

Both systems were installed by a local auto alarm and stereo shop. 1 1/2 hrs labor for the Honda and two hrs for the Prius.., but on the Prius they also installed a backup camera and backup sensors...

I can't say much about durability, as neither system has been installed long enough, to know. As far as features of once you get accustomed to the system they begin to become transparent.

Works great!

I'm not sure about the other review, but everything I read about Goshers kits was correct. The system works great when installed correctly, and works even better when fine tuned a little. It was tough to find a installer who was willing to put the effort in, instead of just throwing it in my car and letting me drive home. From what I see on the other review, the installation wasn't done very well. I definitely had my doubts, but since getting the car back from the shop almost 2 weeks ago, I can say I would buy this again and recommend. It's not a microwave factory system, so it's unfair to think it would perform better than one.

I don't think it's fair to give an excellent product a poor review for a one off bad install. Goshers themselves will tell you that this is a installation critical product. I can say its great, and works as it should to warn you of blind spot threats. It's exactly what I needed.

mini cooper

I have a mixed review. Support is good. The system works well but indicators go off when the car is at your side which I consider too late. I'd like to have a notice when the car is further back.

Product not reliable

Difficult installation, even for a professional. After installation, the signals generated are not consistant: sometimes there are signals, other times on identical traffic conditions there are no signals. Lack of consistancy. The various settings of the unit cannot achieve the consistency. Poor design of the LED indicators.

Don't leave home without it

The Gosher's BSDS performs perfectly. I have no complaints. I owe most of the satisfaction to the professional installers who had already done several of these systems so I was confident they would not disappoint -- and they didn't.

Everything works as it was intended. Make sure you purchase the premium model listed under this product name.

There is also an advantage of having the sensor lights inside the vehicle instead of on the mirror on the outside where many factory systems are installed. My wife loves it!

Didn't work for us.

We had this system professionally installed by our local Al and Ed's Autosound in our 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe, which has large blind spots. When we first tried it it only lit up or beeped when a car on either side was already up to the passenger seat row in our Santa Fe, way too late to be useful. Took it back to have the !5 degree sleeves added to get it to aim further back, but this wasn't significantly different. Al and Ed's people said this is as good as it gets. What a waste of $350. plus $450 installation. The rear sensors were installed in the correct location as instructed in the manual. Do not get this unless your installer will guarantee in writing that this will alert you to a car that's entering the back of the blindspots. I don't think they'll do this. It also went off when driving along a medium strip with bushes or trees. We can't recommend this product.

Goshers

Had product professionally installed works well beeps when people are on my blind spot only negative is the beep needs to be louder

Works for us

The configuration of our car (Buick LaCrosse) made checking the blind spot more difficult than in our other car and we bought it used without blind spot indicators. We had a local repair shop install the indicators. They had never installed these before so it took them a bit longer than usual (5 hours) but they charged us only for 3 (thank you!). We had it set on high sensitivity but that was picking up every little thing so we moved it to low and it works quite well for us now. We changed from the white indicator lights that came with it to the black LED lights because we found the white ones were hard to see when the sun was shining on them. It made a big difference.

Works as Described, Very Well

I have had our BSDS-003016p Premium version installed for a few months, and wanted to post my comments here. We had this unit installed in a Acura TL sedan. The system works exactly how it is designed to, by notifying the driver that something is in the blind spot area.

I saw reviews here that it doesn't warn you about vehicles coming from behind. That's right, it's not supposed to. Nowhere in the documentation does it claim it does. I checked the manufacturer's website, and they also don't claim that it will detect approaching traffic. Giving a brand a 1-star review for something which is not part of the technology is unfair.

Needless to say, this system works very well. There are a few annoyances in city driving while approaching an intersection or making a turn, but other than that it's a solid unit. We recommend this unit, but make sure your installer understands the function an installation specs prior to installation.

By the way, the Goshers customer service staff was fantastic when working with us and our installer. Customer service shows everything about a company, and is hard to find nowadays.

Over all ok but sensitivity problems

The unit seems to be over sensitive giving many false alarms but that may just be a matter of adjustment which we are still working in. The main problem is that the buzzer for alerts when your turn signal is on dis defective. Gosehers says we need to get the replacement part through Sonic and Sonic says we need to get the replacement part through Goshers. Still trying to get that resolved.

Blind spot detector ...sometimes

I do not recommend the product. I have a car that has a blind spot detector from manufacture . So when I got my son's Car that came without it, I purchase this item.
The lights intermittently work when a car is on your blind spot and you cannot tell they are on during the day.
