Great box!
I have a 12" Kicker L7 in one of these boxes. Hits much harder than the closed (no ports) box I had before.
Make sure you don't under power your sub or you actually get distortion, not only in the sub, but you get port noise as well from this box. I got port noise and some distortion from a Alpine MRP-M500 (500w at 2 ohms). It worked fine with that amp. Hit hard. But once I got a Kicker ZX750.1 (900 watts at 2 ohms), the audio quality skyrocketed. The bass is much clearer. Much less port noise.
My amp settings had bass boost almost half way and gain a little more than half way (bass boost actually sounds great with this box).
The box is WELL built. The fuzz is nice and easy to clean. The wood is put together nicely. Very sturdy.
I used t-nuts. Make sure you align the holes right before drilling or you could drill on the edge. If you do it right it will work (but it will still be uncomfortably close to the edge).
I highly recommend this box for the L7. Looks good, sounds better.
