My brother had the Hifonics BX1605D but thats discontinued now so i asked him what kind of amp should i get he suggested me this i hooked them up to 2 12'in dub series and man did they hit! but they were getting old so now im going to get 2 12'in Performance Teknique ICBM-5712DX i hear for the money they hit like no other.... For all you who have a bass boost hooked up i suggest not turing that up all the way i learnd my lesson before it wasnt a good one

Amp is great!

I bought this amp to hook up to my Fi 15" Q subwoofer at 1.5 ohms and it is really hitting hard. It could go harder but my alternator can't produce enough amps, so every time this hits and my lights are on they dim so low its actually pretty funny. Overall great amp, looks amazing especially at night, works great! Never gets really hot

I have this amp pushing a 2006 S15L7 and it seriously knocks! The amp is easy to use and the power is incredible. The included bass knob makes it easy to go from loud to BOOM. Hifonics has created a monster!

Good Amp

The following review is for a previous version (BXi1606D).

Just recently received this amp in the mail. I was going for a cheaper stereo this time around recently wrecking my 2 W6s in an accident... I have this amp on 2 insignia 1800w 600rms FUBAR or power acoustics subs whatever you prefer. I have to say im going to need to amp my interior speakers because this amp pushes the subs beyond what I expected.. also looks nice with the blue illumination. Sound quality isn't as great as my old JL.. but for the price I think I've gotten more then what I've paid for!

The BEST of the BEST

The following review is for a previous version (BXi1606D).

THIS AMP IS THE BEST I'VE EVER OWNED. I ONCE HAD AN PUNCH BD1000 AND IT WAS NICE, BUT NO COMPARASION. I OWN A DIAMOND D5 1200.1 THAT WAS COOL, BUT NO COMPARISON. I HAD A MTX 1501D IT WAS CLOSE, BUT NO CIGAR. I HAVE THE BXI 1606 ON 3 ALPINE TYPE R AND THE SOUND IS INCREDICLE. THIS AMP SLAMS THE SPEAKERS TO THERE COPACITY, I'VE BLOWN 2 ALREADY. I REALLY LIKE THIS AMP AND I WOULD RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE WHO IS LOOKING FOR A GREAT POWERFUL AMP FOE A GREAT PRICE!!!!!

BUY THIS

The following review is for a previous version (BXi1606D).

I bought 1 of these amps for my 2 kicker
o6 s15L52 subs that need 750 wrms each and let me tell you this amp is more then enough.I hit 156.3 at the last db drag I was in.The amp is built well and easy to use with plenty of room for big gauge wires. These amps smoke all comp and the price you cannot beat.I only wish I had bought it a little later since 2 weeks later it is 20 dollars cheaper.

Not bad........

The following review is for a previous version (BXi1606D).

I have owned 2 of these amps and I popped 1 and sold the other 1 to a friend that has an awesome set up in their SUV and I mean he had the bass boost on 1 then turned it up a lil and I felt like I had compression chamber around me! :0
Strongly recommend this amp.

The only downside is it does dim lights if you do not have a BIG enough cap either.

Hifonics BX1605D

The following review is for a previous version (BX1605D).

I'm running two 10" Alpine Type R DVC's with this amp. I initially hooked it up for a four ohm load and was disappointed with the results. I rewired the subs for a one ohm load and after some fine tuning I'm more than satisfied with the way they hit. I have my amps on a rack in my spare tire compartment and I noticed the BX1605D was getting hot to the touch. It did not go into protect though. I installed a fan the other day and that seemed to make a difference. For someone on a budget this is a pretty good amplifier. One other note, the controls on this amp suck if it's in a hard to reach position. You have to get a small flathead screwdriver to adjust it and even with that it's difficult.

holy sh*t

The following review is for a previous version (BXi1606D).

I've had an MRP-M850, Rockford Fosgate 801x2400, Soundstream XTA 880.2 and my dual 12" Type R's (4ohm DVC) have never gotten more than about 250 watts RMS each. Let me tell you, I now know what type R's are supposed to sound like. Drained my stock electrical system after 3 minutes, incredible. 800 RMS to two type R's is so good. Buy this amp NOW i got mine off ebay for 150 plus 25 shipping so only 175 and I would've paid 250-300 for this amp. I will probably only be buying Hifonics amps from now since they are cheap, powerful, and clean.

HARD HITTER!!!

This amp is a great hard hitting amp. I bought it six months ago. Put it in my 530i BMW it hits so hard the trunk ratters out of frequency. I don't like the bass frequency. Hifonic should use the Autotek crossover in this BXi. The price is good!!! Add a two or four way kicker crossover you'll love it more. Ricky aka Rap Dad-de SA,Tx.

WOW

The following review is for a previous version (BX1500D).

I have this powering 2 12" AW1206T's each taking 750watt RMS at one ohm they are wired in parallel for the 1ohm load.... cant barely breath in my front seats let alone the back.... It barely gets warm after 1 hour of pure pounding at 1500rms and keeps on going... i ran it for 3 hours before it started getting warm which is amazing considering i had it in the 1 ohm load. Great amp. Make sure when you wire it your wiring to spec..... it is not stable at all ohm loads

Its okay

The following review is for a previous version (BXi1606D).

You get what you pay for, Its a good little amp but is overated, youll be lucky to see 1000-1200 watts rms out of it at 1 ohm. It never really overheats, the dials seem kinda cheesy but overall its an alright amp.

Hifonics Brutus 1606D Amp

The following review is for a previous version (BXi1606D).

I just bought a Hifonics Brutus 1606D amp, and it is loud and clean. I have it wired at 1ohm to a RE XXX 12 inch sub, and it hits extremely hard. For the price this is one of the better amps on the market. I like the fact that you get a remote knob with a protection light on it. I reccommend this amp to anyone who wants raw power but doesn't have a whole lot of cash to spend on an amp.

Nice Amp

The following review is for a previous version (BX1500D).

Overall, I say its a nice amp for the price.

The first one I purchased was defective, but the second one I recieved operated fine.

Don't believe the specs for the amp. I've been running it for a few months now, it pounds pretty hard. Wired at 1 ohm, there's no way it pushes 1500 rms. You'd be lucky if you gets 600 rms out of it. Amp is a power hog too. I have a 200 amp alternator /w a cap, but I still get dimming lights. Better amps out there if you have the bucks, but still good for the price.

Cant Hear

The following review is for a previous version (BX1605D).

First of all let me say what a great deal this amp is . I have two 12 in. kicker L7's I had a kicker 550watt amp which I paid 380 buck, and still was not doing the job, the guy at the audio dealer told me I would have to pay 700 buck for a 1200 mono amp that would get the job done. So I left , a friend told me about Hifonics so I checked it out. I picked up the BX1605D;when they gave me my car back after the install let me say I could not sit in my own car. The sound was nice a clear and still the bass hit hard I never knew it would loud like that. This amp is the best buy ever you get your money worth and a whole lot more. If you want competition sound on a student budget the Hifonics BX1605D is the way to go

Hifonics for life!

The following review is for a previous version (BXi1606D).

I have had this amp for almost 2.5 years now, and I've owned about 6 or 7 amps, nothing has held up, and has been as great as this amp! Its so durable for one, (I'm a very careless person sometimes) and I dropped it from the shelf onto my garage floor from about 6' and the thing still works flawlessly, I had a rigged setup with some 10's that slid around so much, that it actually broke one of the RCA inputs off, and now its powering 2 15" Kicker L7's, and I have yet to hear a louder system than mine, and I've heard a ton. This amp is great, and very strong, great looking, and overall amazing! I will definitely be purchasing another Hifonics Amp

hifonics bx1605d versus profile ca800

The following review is for a previous version (BX1605D).

I just ordered the hifonics bx 1605d amplifier. I was currently running the profile ca800. I purchased the hifonics because I needed an amp stable to 1 ohm. Current sub is an atlas 15" wired for 4 ohm load.

hifonics rates the 1605d @ 550 rms into a 4 ohm load, profile is 600 rms into the same load. Gains were set properly, everything turned down, no bass boost, no gain. turned the h/u up to 3/4 volume, (just before distortion) then turned up the gain. (just before distortion)

The hifonics sounds NOTHING like my 60 dollar profile amp! All the people who've heard the hifonics cannot believe the difference in diminished output! YES thats right DIMINISHED OUTPUT!!!

I didnt use bass boost on either amp, and all settings are flat. I checked to see if the speakers are in phase, (they are) but still the hifonics is not as loud as the profile. Does 50 watts rms make that much of a difference? I dont think so. The amp was professionally installed. All wiring under the hood is 4 gauge, I have stock alternator with a deep cycle blue top battery under the hood.

I hope when I go to the 1 ohm sub, (avalanch 18") I get better performance, if not I WILL BE SELLING THIS AMP and SOON!

BX1605D

The following review is for a previous version (BX1605D).

I have a friend with one of these hooked up to 2 15" L5's and it has more than enough power to push them... These amplifiers are known to be more efficient now that they are underneath Maxxsonics... These amps are well worth the price of them and then some... I just ordered this amp also to push my PBX 15 and it should fit real nice... plus you got to love the 1 year warranty, just in case, not really gonna need it with this amp tho... and the adjustments are just what you need for sub applications, what else could you ask for??? It is made for a screw driver, but you can just adjust it with you finger if you wanted to... overall... best bang for the buck!!!

Get thumping

The following review is for a previous version (BXi1606D).

I was greatly impressed by the specs of this amp and for the price i thought it was unbelieveable so i got this amp. Have it pushing 2 rockfords P2 10" at 4 ohms each wired to 2 ohms at the amp. This amp is supposed to give out 900 watts rms at 2 ohms and my rockfords are 400 watts rms combined. I have the volume at 3/4 on this amp and it thumps my subs real hard. I got an immediate improvement in my bass quality when i hooked up this amp and the voltage drop was significantly less even at louder volumes when compared to my previous class A/B amp. Great buy although i think the power output is a bit overrated.

I recently just purchase this amp to power my 2 10" JL Audio W6 DVC, and it pound! The bass is so loud, I could hardly hear my interior speakers. I haven't wire it to 2 ohms yet, but even with 4 omhs, it kicks. Great Amp for the buck. I have no problems with it yet. Another great thing is, this amp does not get hot, even on sunny days. If your looking for a dependable, reliable and cool looking amp, this would be it!

unbelieveable!!!

The following review is for a previous version (BX1605D).

my friend told me to get a 3000 watt amp for my two 10" alphasoniks but i decided to go with hifonics and this amp is crazy. i cant even turn my bass boost up past 5 db in fear i might blow something. this amp definately has the power to push these two alphasoniks. thanks for the fast response and shipment of my order.
