Monster Power

The following review is for a previous version (BX2005D).

I purchased this amp a little over a month ago. It wasn't until recently that I completed my install. I have it hooked to 3 12" Audiobahn ALUM12N subs that are 6ohm DVC for the 1ohm load. They handle 1100 watts RMS each and this amp beats the crap out of them. I recommend this if you need the 2000 RMS honest-to-goodness watts of pulverizing power. Stays at a moderate temperature without extra cooling. Make sure to install it out in the open. Or in a rack with some fans. But so far, so good with them temps.
Overall, it's a simple amp, has a few lights, loads of power, and gets the job done with no B/S.

This amp is a beast!!

The following review is for a previous version (BX2005D).

This amp is an all-out power house. My friend has this amp in his 04 suburban with 2 kicker L7s and the roof looks like its going to cave in with all the flex. This Amp puts out all the clean power you need and its all there..not overrated what so ever. If you need a great powerful amp for a decent price definitely go with Hifonics, they are Great for the money and durability!!

Hifonics Amp

The following review is for a previous version (BXi2008D).

I got this amp running 2 pioneer premier 12's that I bought from sonic. This amp is great. I have never had any problems with it. My subs hit like no other. The lights on the amp light up the whole back of my van. Good amp for the price.

Awesome Amp

The following review is for a previous version (BX2005D).

Hifonics amps are really great amps. They probable have the best bang for your buck. If you buy this amp be sure to have your head pounded if you put the right subs on it cause they could blow. The only downfall is that you probably need either a cap, battery, or higher amp alternator.

Amp rocks

The following review is for a previous version (BXi2006D).

I have this amp with 2 Hifonics BX12D2 and man does this amp put out alot of power. Thats not even the best part, when people say this amp does not get hot they are right. I was listening to my system for about an hour and a half straight and when i opened my trunk and felt my amp it was hardly hot. If you want an amp that can be affordable compared to other amps and push out all the wattage you need this is it.

Great amp

The following review is for a previous version (BX2005D).

I just recently bought this amp and it's awesome. I am pushing two Earthquake 18's with this monster and they sound beautiful. The only problem I've had so far is the little light-up Maxxsonics logo on the remote bass knob has went out, but oh well, I'm not one for looks, just good music and bass. Anyone looking for awesome bass at a great price, this is your amp.

SICK

i had the 2008D on 2 type r subs and i have never heard anything that pounded harder the only reason i gave it a 4 in durability is because fedex dropped it or something when it was shipped because there was a loose piece inside it but it still worked for a couple months until the loose piece shorted on the connections inside the amp and fried it. If it wasn't for fedex i would still be slumpin right now

(:

I'll give this particular amp 5 stars all the way across.

I was also skeptical of this amp's performance because some people had made Hifonics out to be 'cheap'

I'll tell you one thing, they were wrong. This amp has miles of power, I had it hooked up to an Audioque HDC315 in a 3.6cu ft box tuned to ~36hz in a 2007 Infiniti G35 sedan with stock electrical, down to one ohm. It absolutely HAMMERED the lows thanks to the plentiful power coming out of this thing. Broke my damn sunroof motor, it's permanently cracked open.

Looks good at night, cool blue haze coming out of my trunk, and the black finish is sweeeeet; the bass knob is wonderful.

Very, very happy with my purchase.

well worth the money

I recently purchased the 2010D to power my 2 JL W3V2's in my 2002 Hyundai Sonata. I was somewhat skeptical towards Hifonics because they do not seem as mainstream as other brands, and a lot of people bash on their products.
before receiving the amp, i had a HO 200 amp alt. installed and i installed a Kinetik hc1400 under my hood and another Kinetik hc 800 in the trunk along with a stinger 80 amp relay. I feel that if you have the proper power running to it, this amp will definitely put out the rated power it states, maybe even more! it also helps if it is tuned right (obviously).
At first i thought that it was way over-rated, but then i realized one of the 2 100 amp fuses going in between my batteries was blown, and after replacing that and letting my back battery to charge, it is so LOUD!!!
my current set up is set at 4 ohms, so 650 watts RMS according to the factory specs. Personally, I think its pushing maybe 700-730 watts continuous. its temporary until i can upgrade my wires from 4awg to 0 and put in an Orion HCCA 12.2 @ 1 ohm :) it should be interesting!

something i wish it had, though, is like a control to set what frequency the bass boost hits hardest at (like the JL amps do). I used to own a 500/1, and it was a nice feature. I wonder if there is something out there that can help me out? that would be nice for when my HCCA gets installed.

overall I feel its well worth the money if you have the right set up and proper power going to it.

Great amp!

The following review is for a previous version (BXi2006D).

I am currently using this amp to power 2 12" eclipse titaniums running at 1.5 ohms, and it really slams pretty hard!! You can't ask for a better amp at this price. It has excellent sound quality amp, and decent bass. However I do think the power ratings are a bit inflated.

Been using this AMP for almost 3 years and still running strong with not a single problem. I would recomend this AMP for everyone that wants a lot of power, longevity, and stability.

Overrated. Great price.

The following review is for a previous version (BXi2006D).

Amp gets a little hot not gonna lie, also doesn't put out 2000 watts at 14.4 volts. But not too much less. Using all 0 awg wires even big 3 upgrade and this amp outperforms 2 kenwood kac-9104d's and for less cost. Sounds a lot better and a little louder. But the biggest difference was after prolonged use it didn't get quieter in any way.
Great buy.

Great amp, great performance, great price!!!

I heard some mixed reviews that this amp is overrated. So I took it to a local shop to be tested. At 14.4 volts it was on the money. He dropped it to 13.8 volts & at 4 ohms 634 watts rms, at 2 ohms 1242 watts rms, and at 1 ohm 1896 watts rms. Not bad for a $275 dollar amp. It does its rated at 14.4 which is where they test them. I have mine running 2 Alpine Type R 1022D's @ 2 ohms and they pound...Highly recommend this amp if your on a budget

Great bang for the buck

Great amp for the money

I bought one of these a few months ago and it is an excellent amp for the money. After being tuned in with an oscilloscope it was putting out 1752 watts RMS with no clip. Wonderful amp for the money. Just make sure you have it installed and tuned correctly.

The following review is for a previous version (BXi2006D).

I have this amp currently pushing 2 pioneer 3000 watts max each.thats 6000watts total and boy does it perform.each speaker is 1000watts rms bridged to 1om..the bxi2006D on these speakers shakes my entire car, house and every other house on my street.for the price it definitly is worth it.it is way cheaper than rockford or any other high quality amp but make no mistake it performs just as great.its the best in its price range.

Awesome amp.

The following review is for a previous version (BXi2006D).

Do not underestimate this amp. Although the Brutus name is new and not well known, this amp does not play around. It is a certified SUBWOOFER KILLER! So far on my killed in action list are (4) kicker comp vr 2 ohm 12s, 1 soundstream XS-12/2, (2) kicker solo-baric L7 15s [yes, i didn't stutter, they couldn't hang for a 45 second drag], 2 brutus 12 inch 2ohm [so far these speakers performed the BEST. The amp is not supposed to be able to run less than 1 ohm stable, but I ran it at .5 ohm putting out close to 3000 watts rms. This amp does not play around. With 5 being a perfect score, I'd give this amp an 8.

Good BOOM on a budget

The following review is for a previous version (BXi2006D).

This is one of the best amps that I have own. It's by no means on par with Kicker, MTX or Alphasonik. But its still great for the price thats its going for. It is a little over rated on the wattage that it is stating. I currently have it pushing 2 Kicker L7s and its a great combination. Only problem is that the amp has no built in fuse or gives no info on the manual on what size to run on the power cable. But hey, you get for what you pay for.

Great Amp

The following review is for a previous version (BXi2006D).

I have owned my Brutus for about a little over a year, and it has been a beast. I have mine pushing two MTX T9515-44s. It is one of the best amps I have ever owned. You can install it with 4 or 0 gauge wire. With extra bats you can get your moneys worth and some out of this amp. For how small it is really performs well, and over heating is never a problem.

Impressive!

The following review is for a previous version (BXi2006D).

I had bad experiences with "budget" amps. This is far from it. I have this amp pushing 3 L7 10's at 1.34 ohms and it doesn't even get warm. Not quite as loud as my Fosgate 2000bd (before it crapped out on me) but pretty close especially for hundreds of dollars less. Running 1/0 g wire with stock electric system in 04 mustang GT, minimal to no light dimming. If your on a budget and you want performance give this amp a serious thought, you won't be dissapointed.

lots of power

I bought this amp for my two kicker l5 12s and it puts out a lot of power. This amp also takes a lot of power. I have a 105 amp alternator and a 3 farad cap and it still drops the voltage to 11 something. The subs are able to move the doors about a quarter inch. I have owned this amp for about three months and have never had a problem. even after playing the system at full blast for about a minute the amp is barely warm at all. I highly recommend this amp.

Hifonics Amp, Overrated.

I have owned two of these amps, and in my opinion, they are overrated. My first amp even fried on me!!They don't put out as much power as people say. I had 2 12" kicker CVR's that were powered by this amp and you could hear the clipping from the amp, and the sounds that it amplifies ARENT very crisp and clean. I hooked up my cousins rockford fosgate 1000 up to my subs and wow, HUGE DIFFERENCE! What's the moral of this story? Don't buy cheap products that claim to boast huge power, you will be disappointed. Save your money for something awesome! But that's just my honest opinion

will even explode fellow innocent drivers

i am currently running this amp and the previous model of this amp in my burban. For whatever reason the previous model seems to output a little more power than this 2010 model but nonetheless this 2010 brutus will rip your face off with bass. it is not uncommon for me to be driving, especially approaching a red light, and seeing fellow drivers covering their ears due to the sheer obliteration these amps cause. make sure you externally fuse these amps because as far as i know they have no internal fuse. I have a 100 amp fuse on the 2008 model and a 150 amp fuse on the 2010 model and both work exceptional.
