these subs!

Don't under estimate these subs. They will blow your ears off. I promise. If you have the right amp. I have an 1800 watt Kenwood and my rearview mirror feel off. My neighbors didn't like me very much. But I would highly recommend these subs to anybody. Even if you have P3 l7"s or solo XS.

great value

Just bought two of these and they hit hard and have good excursion. I have them in a custom bandpass enclosed box at 4ohms with 1200w rms to them these heat up a little but not much great for people just starting.

They Slam

when these came out my friends n i gathered money and i bought 6 12s, 4 10s, 4 15s, for the price, they couldnt be passed up. all my friends are running a pair of these subs with either the brz1200.1 or brz2400.1 brutus amps and they slam hard!! depending on the vehicle the sound difference will vary alot.

for example 2 12s on the 1200.1 will sound way louder in the a car trunk than in an SUV. but four 10s on a 2400.1 will sound way louder in an suv than 4 15s on a 2400.1 in a car trunk. i dont know why the big difference but i asked maxxsonics for the tuning on the amps so all the amps are tuned to run with the subs but even with the same setup, same subs. same amp. same box. same wiring. the sound will vary greatly.

my setup consist of 2 12s on a brz1200.1d in a ported box running off a premier deh-p8mp and memphis wire kit. maxxsonics recommened 4ohms subs be run at 1ohms to get the most out of them and remember these amps are cea-certified so im running 600 TRUE rms to the subs and they take a beating. still havent broken them in but have been raising the volume slowly from 15-20-25-and currently at 30 and have had them for about 45days and i know they have a ways to go to break in, u can just feel that its not at its max but once it is they will slam harder.

BRUTUS ALL DAY AND NIGHT !!

Do not hesitate. These subs will rock you! If you want the big boom! Put these babies in a shared 3.4 cubic box with a single slot port tuned at 38 hz in the center of them. I have them running about 1 ohm (box rise 1.1 - 1.2) powered by a second generation ORION 250 HCCA DIGITAL REFERENCE. I will quote my sons reaction when coming 3 blocks away "Dad, it sounds like an earthquake approaching" Now hows that for a review.

Great subwoofer!

I bought one about a year ago, have it in a sealed box, and it sounds GREAT. Gets VERY low, and gets pretty loud as well, I haven't gotten a chance quite yet to hook it up to an amp that will really show it's potential, however, with the amps I have hooked it up to, It's GREAT. I'd recommend to anybody that wants a cheap way to get some decently loud bass in their ride! So far, really haven't found any cons! Love it!

great value

I am 14 and have this sub in my room, I only have 150 watts going to it but it still rattles my door and has made things fall off the walls. You can also see my window in my room flexing from out side. It also sounds great and hits the highs and the lows. If you are looking for a cheap subwoofer for you car or room this sub will be great for you. The only thing that worries me is the magnet cover, it seems really cheap and it seems like it is loose.

Wow in a good way

I've always been a kicker fan. I downgraded from a 15 in L7 because I wanted trunk space. So I bought this Brutus 12 inch sub and for $70 it's worth every penny. It sounds great and puts out a lot of bass. It has a good design and looks and feels durable. It's powered by my Rockford amp which is also a plus. Overall I give it 5 stars.

Can you say 152.6 db .

I brought four (4) B12D4's and put them in my 1994 Mazda B4000 truck with a blow through design on two (2) P1000.1's Massive Audio amps and these subs can take all of the power that I'm giving them. In other words DAMMMMNNNNN!!!!

Good subs

Ordered 2 of these subs on August 13th, on a Friday. Got them the next Tuesday the 17th. Hooked them up in my Jeep Cherokee in a ported box and a 300watt Rockford floodgate punch amp and WOW!!!! hits really hard even on only 300w atts. Good sub for the money and great for beginners.

Very good Beginner sub

I have one of these in a Jeep Grand Cherokee in a ported box. It hits just as hard as my buddy's two Rockfords! Granted I'm running 600rms and he is Running 250rms/sub. Any one wanting good starter/ budget subs these are your best bet.

big sound in a small package

I got a pair of these in a trade about a week ago and im very happy with them. I have them in a vented box and hooked to a sony explode 1000 and these things hit hard and not even getting enough power to push them hard. I have them in a jeep cherokee and have gotten 3 noise complaints. I cant wait until i get a bigger amp on them and see their full power.

The Best

Ive always been a big fan of Hifonics.. I have Hifoncis subs and amps. I love it when people pull up next to me with a good system and give me props on how deep and hard my Hifonics equipment sounds.. Then they also love the look :-)

Great after LPF filtered

I have just one of these in a 1.75 cu. ft. Ported custom box I made to their "Ported Optimal" specs.

I'm powering mine with an inexpensive Hitron HA-1000.1 amp wired @ 2 Ohms for a supposed 600 W RMS output.

In this box I absolutely LOVE the sound of Rap tracks, for example, by E-40.

One thing though... you definitely need to make sure you have the Low Pass Filter on your amp and headunit set properly. The other day I had a higher bass tone try to play thru this thing and made a really bad sound. Did not like it at all.

However, I fussed around with the LPF on the amp and set the headunit's LPF to 140Hz and it seems to have solved that issue.

Overall I'd say the sound QUALITY was better on the Pioneer Premier Shallow Mount this one is replacing. The Pioneer had a broader frequency range though. But the pioneer was only half the RMS though.

So for a slight trade-off on the higher bass frequencies I get a SUBSTANTIAL gain on the low-lows... everything else in my system being the same.

My Ford Explorer SportTrac is extremely limited on interior room for a sub box... but if you have a vehicle that can fit TWO of these...man... I don't know how crazy that must be.

good on a budget

I bought these subs with the intent of doing a budget system, will admit these exceeded any expectations I had. I have 2 paired up to a power acoustik bamf-2000/1d, wired @ 1ohm which produces what PA says is 1200rms (pa always over does it) so say they're running around 900rms, they sound great, crisp tones, can def feel the bass with the radio at 14, all my friends are amazed by the setup for such a short price, they'll out do any kicker cvr setup

My only complaint, the rubber on the sub isn't too thick, and its stitched on instead of glued, something with that much power should be designed a little better but for what I paid, I cant complain

BETTER THAN THE ALPINE TYPE R 12s

i have 2 of these on a crunch 1500.1... i know i know under powering them...but they r still getting broken in..about 5 more hours to go..then i can put my other 1500.1 on them....so 2 brutus 12s 2 crunch 1500.1s.. because i have the dual 2 ohm versions of these subs..

but anyways i have 2 of these in my 94 civic hatch..in a 3.56 cube foot box tuned to 34 hertz.. and prolly only about 250 to 300 rms to each sub..and its crazy...makes my windshield flex... its all in the box design..

i say they r better than the type r 12s..because they r a lot cheaper..u can buy 2 of these compared to 1 type r... and personally the brutus hit a lower cleaner bass note.. mine dont hit the really high bass notes because my box is tuned at 34 hertz..but the lows r stupid.. sound awesome on any music...i play rap..bass tracks...country..and some rock..and they never skip a beat..
my buddy has 2 type r 12s on a crunch 1500.1..i built his box also..and we both agree my subs get lower and louder...and these take a serious beating..i free aired mine..when brand new they did 3" excursion without bottoming out!!

in short buy these...they wont disappoint!!!!

thanks so much for reading my review

WOWW!!!!

I bought 2 of these 3 month ago, and hooked them to a rockford fosgate t2000.1 bd mono amp, and put them in a ported box... all I could say is Dammmmm!!! I knew hifonics made good amps, but i didn't know that their subs were just as good. these subs hit like some high powered 15s, and have amazing clarity. for a hundred bucks you cannot find a better sub.
