solid amp

I have this amp running 2 skar vvx 15v2s d4 wired to 1 ohm. Gain only half way more power than they can handle. I have the big 3 done with 1awg ofc nvx wire and a extra battery xs d 3400. Still have to get an alt. My current alt is a 105 amp. And other battery is a everstart 800cc amp. This amp is power hungry. I also recomend putting the remote wire on a seperate switch. My head unit stopped turing it on . S***ty pioneer. Amp will get hot but it wont turn off. Just give it plenty of breathing room underneath. Great product. I slam it for 45 minutes at a time. My commute to colledge. Everyday . About three months now. Like i said only prob wws the remote wire . That happened about 2weeks after i bought it.

Best Bang for the Buck!

Got 2 of these hooked to my 2 HDC3 18s Strapped @2ohm and they definately put the power out, but needs a solid source from good audio batteries. I have 2 XSS power batteries to keep the amps juice up!

got this on 2 new rockford p3 15 and they slap with the bass slightly cut down for clean watts and have had it at 0.5ohms with no problem little warm but never cut off it might be cheap but it aint cheap if u no what i mean buy u will not be disappointed i promise

Great Amp. Don't waste money oon big brand names

This amp is the absolute best option for anything under $300. It's built pretty beefy, and it does as close to rated power, as one will. Put this on (8) JL subs, rated at 300-400 rms, and it pushed them to the maximum! Design/Ease of use has (4) stars because of the angled wire inputs. Makes for a stubborn install and mount. Otherwise, best amp out for $300 or less.

Blew my mind

This is a great amp. If you are looking for awesome power at budget price this is it. I have thos beast pushing two mofo 12s and they romp. Needs alot of power to work properly but well worth the sacrifice for the price of this amp. I would recommend this amp because where else are you gonna find 2400 watts rms and actually get it for less than 300 bucks

Hifonics Brutus brx2400.1d in my opinion its a good amp if u just like to be loud. One thing that a lot of people said which I've seen to believe is that u must have a good power supply for this amp. Slamming it with insufficient power makes it hot. It looks good but too much illumination for me once powered on. not sure but love super low bass n I'm not gettin that with this amp. The first one I ordered went up in smoke. Called sonic told them bout the amp n they told me just send it back and in no time had another replacement thanks to sonic. So if ur just lookin for a not to expensive amp to play loud then that's a decent choice but remember its power hungry

Awsome amp

Love this amp i plan on buying one more to push each subs. right now i have 2 12" alpine type rs wired to 2 ohm on this amp temporary subs. pounds so hard havent gotten to hot it gets warm but thats about it. definetly worth the money i would recommend this amp to anyone. its also a looker all my friends are like that amp is sick.

Can't believe it lasted this long

I had this beast pushing 3 kappa perfect 4 ohm dvc 10's wired to .65 ohms. Never shut down and lasted 3 years. I have not found anything else that comes close to running on long road trips with that low resistance and not shut down. Would buy this amp over and over

Well what can I say it arrived on time, works like any other amp plenty of power just the dials is a little hard to understand at first but that's why there is the manual its a good amp, it also looks good.

For those who worry about the price

There is a reason it is CEA compliant, it does what it advertises it can do!
I am a Hifonics Amplifier fan, always have been always will be, and ever since they have been getting certified to do the rated power I get even more excited, its proof that it is a good value!
BUT I MUST WARN YOU, anyone who has been building car audio systems for as long as I have or longer will tell you, no matter how powerful the sub/amp/speakers, the system is only as strong as the weakest link. Plan everything out before you buy, and I mean everything.

More power then I need

I bought this amp to drive 4 10in Alpine dvc subs. It is great! It is more than powerful enough. I am slightly worried I might bust my back window out!

Bang Bang

Very nice and clean power

Did a clamp test on my car's electricals which is 80 amp stock alt, one kinetik hc 1800 in the hood and one in the trunk, big 3 all done. I monitored the signal with an oscope used a 50 hertz test tone with voltages dropping down to 13.6.

The result: with impedance/box rise up to 1.31 ohms (subs wired to 1 ohm) this baby pumped out 2095 clean rms with no distortion at all. The results were louder than any 5000 watt power acoustik amp can ever be!

This is expected since they used a good board for this amp, its the same board thats used in an audioque/soundqubed 2200 and American Bass vfl 120.1 which are amps costing much more than these.

From what i've seen inside the amp, its very well built and its very durable, i've taken it out for a road trip and had 3 hours of full tilt bass and the amp barely got warm, the heat sink works very well. maxxsonics actually did something right for once. I might even grab another one in the future and strap em.

Only thing i hate about hifonics amps is that the ground and power wire input terminals are always slanting down, nothing big, just a pet peeve. Would like it to point straight out and the amp doesnt look very stylish.

Powerful

This amp is awesome. I have it pushing 2 12" kicker l7 at 2 ohms at 1600 watts and they are loud the problem is I have stock altanator, battery so nothing really to beef up the electrical cuz at 1600 watts this thing draws some power. I'm about to get the big 3 which should solve the dimming problem so I would recommend this amp to anyone but if you are like me and just have stock wiring I would also do the big 3.

I have 4 dc lvl4's in a forth order box in my truck, 5 m31 daka battery and a mechmen 320amp alt. I bought 2 of these things and have them strapped at exactly 1.0ohms, they say they can't handle that but omg they can I'm pushing 155.6 DB's and plan on getting 2 more later this year. You'll get another post like this as an update! Plz you don't have to spend hundreds of dollars for an amp that say a big name brand it's about bumpin face not show. ONLY reason I've given it a 3 on "ease of use" because the cable holders are at a 45 degrees angle"

Very Powerfull. Brutus 2400

I have it pushing a American Bass Xfl 15. Doors shake steering wheel shakes violently. Nose vibrates.... It does its job just as long as you feed it electricity. Vibrates windows and cabinets in my house. Prepare for your lights to dim. So yes I recommend it to anyone. Just buy it. Superb price for what it does. Get out there and sweep the streets with bass!

Best Amp for the money

For some reason some people talk down on this amp but I think its because they don't have enough power to keep it above 14.4 volts. I bought this amp on a Black Friday deal. I have it wired to 1 ohm on a Massive Audio Hippo 122 with the big 3 XS Power package and 2 XS Power Huge Batteries with 0 Gauge XS Power Cable & a 270 AMP ALT. My current never drops even on the heaviest notes under 14.5 mostly stays at 14.7. Great amp for my custom console setup and pushes exactly what it says. I had it dyno tuned by a professional it puts out 2505 RMS and that's insane and yes its clean power no distortion. By this amp you will not be sorry just make sure u have enough power and its tuned correctly.

Worth the cash, but it does draw on your battery system. Upgrade that before even considering buying this, you will burn up your alternator and leave yourself stranded. But pounds hard next to over priced name brands

This amp pushes my 15in DC sub however I didn't not take into consideration that the amp does not have a fan in it. It over heats very easy! That's not my fault though. I do not recommend this amp to people that are serious about their bass. Other then that the amp works and looks great!

good amp on a budget

I got the brx2400.1 about a week ago to replace my blown Brz 2100.1 it has better sq over the brz series an has a nice overall look I like all the lights it features. only down fall I don't like is it has no clipping light that the previous model had so gotya go by the ear, use dd-1 or oscope

Powerful

So I just installed this amp in my car. At the moment I have the big three done and a optima yellow top under the hood. My highoutput alternator is being built. This amp sounds good and is built rock solid. Please keep in mind this amp needs power to make power so make your electrical is up to par or you may be disappointed. The amp has a cool feature where you can strap it with another to double your power which is cool. When I tuned my amp I used a multimeter to make sure it's accurate with my subs and their rms power. You would be surprised how powerful hifonics are espically in the brx line up. They will do rated power you just have to give them what they need. They are about 70% efficient which is not bad especially considering how much the amp cost 2400 true watts for 300 bucks not a bad deal at all.

Lasted 1.5 years Its dead!

Figures, its out of warranty and now its dead... It worked great when I first got it, but it cant handle day in and day out abuse. Some people may laugh at that, but if I buy an amp I want it to last... I have an amp from the 90's that is still going today. They don't make things like they used to.

Running a yellow top bat, big 3 upgrade, 0 gauge wire, 2 15in power acoustik mofo's in a 10 cubic foot box inside my 2000 bravada. Absolutely pounds. Even after weeks of getting used to the subs they still blur my vision and hit hard as hell. Solid amp!

this thing is a monster. wasnt expecting the amp to be as big as it is. and its power hungry better have the big 3 h.o alternator and an agm battery if you want to power this thing correctly, but let me tell you this thing puts the power back out. i havent hooked it up yet to an osiliscope to check its rms but its gota be darn close to its rms rating. planning on getting a second and strapping them on 2 incriminators

good looking amp

If you're ballin on a budget, this is the perfect amp. Im running 2 12s champion series pro with a mega box. Its a little weak on the high bass but great on the lows.

Wired this amp at 1ohm and it didn't quite put out the stated rms power. It was pretty close though and I would still recommend this amp for someone trying to find a good amp but not break the bank. The illumination on this amp really adds some style to your system also.

Bought this amplifier about 3 or so months ago, its great as long as you feed it good power. Its a temporary amp for my Sundown X 15s, pushes them good but not to their full potential. It does overheat pretty quickly, but if you're careful, it shouldn't be an issue. Make sure your voltage stays at 14.4v in order to get the full 2400wrms out of this amp

This amp is the first one from Hifonics that is CEA rated that I have purchased. I just wish they had a line of subs that could handle the power from it. To anyone who is foolish enough to doubt the power output I suggest you actually test one before spreading a rumor that this doesn't put out what they say it does. You will need a charging system capable of powering this beast but I measured above rated on the amp dyno..

Not Underrated, I wouldn't buy any other 'cheap amp brand'

Hifonics advertises their slogan "Power From The Gods". Well, that really explains it. Hooked up on a simple battery and charger it was able to bottom out my brand new Rockford Fosgate T2D215 aka the biggest baddest sub they sell @ 1ohm hitting some low notes. All I can say is god damn this amp throws down. I have it turned up almost halfway on my T2@1ohm and powers it well without any bass boost. T215=1200rms but RF is underated

I purchased this Hifonics BRX2400.1D to replace my Hifonics BRZ1800.1D and so far it is pushing my 2 Kicker CVX's very well. The only reason i would not recommend it is because of the annoying bright blue light. (It's bright blue and shines on all sides except the bottom.)

Have one on 4 l7 15s that hits a 150+ daily!!! 100x better then previous Brutus amps, doesn't get hot very clean power on the Open scope. I will be buying another one soon to strap them.

Brutus!!!!! 2400!!! Massive!

so i purchased this 2400rms! rated amp. and i must say this amp is viscous! i have 2 12" kicker cvr and this amp up halfway blew both of my speakers.(which are rated 800max and 400rms)
Sonic Electronix was great with getting me a deal with new speakers and now the amp is only up a quarter. really great amp!!!

Upgraded to this amp from the BRC1700.1D and I am totally happy. It is running 4 kicker L3 subs and handles like a champ. It does get hot when I really push it but takes the beating well. The angled terminals are not the best and had to prop the amp up just to accommodate the 1/0 gauge wire. Illuminated logo looks beautiful along with the accent lighting which give a floating effect. All in all I'm absolutely happy with this amplifier especially for the price. Looking forward to getting another 1 and possibly strapping them together. 5 stars from me.

This Amp is Amazing!

When I first hooked the amp up at 1 ohm on one RE Audio Sxx 12d2 I was not impressed. The amp did not push the sub to its maximum. After no changes to how I connected it, the next day the amp was so loud that I couldn't go past have on the gain knob. I now have 2 RE Audio Sxx v2 12d4 subs hooked up and I'm scared to go past half way on the gain knob still because it slumps so hard. This Amp is amazing and the best in its price range for sure!

So I first bout this amp, and ran 2 Kicker L7 15s wired down to 1 ohm. This amp more than did it's job in both power output and overall simpleness to wire. I then totaled my car, and this amp was literally the only thing that still worked. So I am currently running 2 Summo 124 12s on this and the output is still unmatched by any amp I've owned so far. It has more than enough power and range to push a lot of different types of subwoofers.

No good!

I just got this amp hooked up yesterday and am returning it asap. Two major problems. 1) It caused very loud engine noise. So loud it is unlistenable! I had this amp professionally installed by a reputable stereo store and the installer said the problem is in the amp because it is grounded properly. 2) This amp does not put out anywhere NEAR the bass that it should. I have it hooked up to 2 10 inch 600 watt rms subs. This is a 2400 watt monoblock amp. I had these same subs hooked up to a Hifonics Brutis 1200.1 previously and they POUNDED hard! Unfortunately the amp died on me after about a year. So I figured another Hifonics Brutis amp with double the watts would at least hit just as hard or harder and last longer but this one is horrible. I don't know if it's just defective or what. So I'm returning it and going with a different brand. Probably Alpine.

I have this amp powering 1 Hdc3 12 and this amp makes this sub come alive.I have 2 xs power D1200 and a stock alternator and the voltage stays in the 14 v range.I've had this amp since last March and it went bad a few months ago.I think I just got Unlucky with a bad amp.I called sonic eletronix and they were able to get me a new amp by the next week free of charge.just shipping the old one back was the only thing I paid.My new amp works great!!!!!I would highly recommend buying this amp from sonic eleteonix as they really do cover Warrenton without hassle.I've been shopping with sonic eletronix for years and never had a problem!!!!This amp is great!!!!

Mega power for a low price.

I have the BRX2400.1 running four Rockford Fosgate Dual Punch Stage 2 subwoofers in my SUV. The amp powers these perfect.
The downside, it only lasted about 7 months but I went ahead and ordered a new one and sent the 1st one in for repair. I'm currently running the 2nd one and will use the 1st as a back-up amp.

Great reliability and output for the price

I bought my first one of these amps 5 years ago and it still works the day I un packed it. I recently bought a second and have both of them strapped together at 1 ohm. .5 ohm per amp. This is far below manufacture spec and I don't recommend it if your new to audio. Or. Don't know how to take care of your equipment. As long as you keep your voltage above 14 volts these amps will put out there rated power. And more! Even down into the 12s the amps will still perform and make power for you. I've been in the audio scene for a long time. And in my opinion you can't beat the power and reliability of these amps for the price. Note: don't wire under recommended manufacturer ohm loads. Without experience or knowledge that you can quickly and easily ruin your equipment. With that said if you wire to manufacture spec and keep your voltage above 13 volts. This amp will make u very happy and last a very long time

I'm very happy with this amp. I have it powering 2 15" q class l7's and they slam hard as hell. It's very power hungry tho, I have an xs d975 along with stock battery with a stock alt and I'm dropping to 12v. I also have the big 3 done but am going to get another xs and an alt upgrade to feed this pig! The only 2 things I don't like are the angled inputs for all the wires and the plastic legs to mount the amp. For the price of this amp and the power it puts out you can't go wrong!

This is a great amp with plenty of power. It will definitely handle near rated with the right electical. The only con i can say is that the plastic mounting feet are not very stong. I haf it mounted vertical and 2 of them broke. Luckily it wasnt mounted to high up.

This amp is perfect I couldn't ask for much more. The amp itself is a great amp that has a lot of power for your subs. I have this amp pushing two 8" sundown subs in a custom box under the rear seat of my Nissan Titan and let me tell you they sound great. At first I only had a yellow top battery under the hood and the amp would dim my lights a bit. Nothing much but noticeable. So I decide to get a second battery and it gives the battery that extra juice it needs to perform at its best. Long story short make sure you give this amp the power it needs and it will not let you down. Also I read several reviews about how the amp gets hot. I still haven't had an issue with it. Overall I highly suggest that you buy this amp if you want a good amp.

Hifonics Brutus amp is the way to go they deliver the rms rating as shown I've have own many of the brutus amp and have never been disappointed I have this amp on 2 ddx skar audio 12s and it's more then enough amp don't get over heated on them have played it hard for over an hr so if you want a good amp for a good price I highly recommend this amp if you need 2000 watts of rms and still have a lil room for more

I love this amp I have it on 4 kicker 15's 2 yellow top battery and the big 3 wires 0 gauge wire and it pounds very hard I don't even have it turned up on the amp, the only thing I don't like about it is that it makes a humming noise on low volume.

Great amp for the money bought this for my wifes car, I have had the same amp in my truck for two years sounds great running a .8ohm in both cars. No issues with mine however the first one I put in her car caused a problem with a ground loop it was replaced under warranty no problem and the new one is working great so I would not let that stop you from buying, like I said before I have the exact same amp running blow rated ohm load for over two years with no problems great amp.

I set up this amp in my 1999 Honda civic Lx wire at a 1 ohm final independence to two Re Audio SEX v2 12D4 and it preforms amazing! The amp even looks really good at night. Amp gets a little warm sometimes so give it some breathing room and takes some power. i recommend using 0 gauge wire and an extra battery with a big 3 upgrade so your electrical system can keep up with it. Sounds great highly recommend.

This amp does rated power. Had it hooked up to a massive audio hippo. The hippo is rated at 200rms and this amp fried it in 3 days. Amp is power hungry so upgrade electrical system.
