Pretty good unit, didn't work out for my set up
I installed this in my new 2013 Hyundai Sonata along with an MTX Thunder 4 channel amp, new Polk Audio coaxials (which I replaced the front Polks with Alpine Type S components). I wanted to keep the dash stock, so I wired in an NVX XPLOC2 line out converter and ran the RCA's to the center armrest storage area where I mounted the HFEQ and then ran RCA's to the amp in the trunk.
First off, the line driver gave a big boost to sound levels. However, with the gains turned up much past 25%, I got an annoying hiss. The hiss was the same loudness regardless of what the headunit volume was at, but when using the volume adjustment on the HFEQ, I could eliminate the hiss by turning it down to 25%. Once the volume on the HFEQ was at 25%, I could turn the gains up all the way and there was no hiss.
For 2 reasons, I ended up getting the Cadence CEQ773. The 4 bands on the HFEQ were just not enough adjustment for me. I was having issues with the midrange SQ, and with only one adjustment, I couldn't adjust the part of the mids that needed it and SQ suffered too much for me. Also, I wanted to see if the hiss was a problem with my wiring or ground, or if it was coming from the HFEQ. After installing the Cadence EQ, the hiss is gone completely regardless of where the gains or EQ volume adjustment is set, so I know it was the HFEQ.
All in all, I would say its a good unit, but since I couldn't get rid of the hiss and adjust things as much as I needed to with my set up, it didn't work for me. If your system needs adjustments in the mids, I would suggest going for a 7 band or higher EQ. If you just need some minor tweaking, this unit could work well for you and it is a good looking unit with easy to use controls.

Great Buy
I purchased 2 of these. One for my car, one for my wife's car. Easy to use, great sound, good crossover points, best of all no noise. Nice half a din size. Wish Sonicelectronix had more!

Amazing Product
This product did what it need to do and more... it is a very powerful EQ. I had to turn my amps down so they wouldn't blow my subs and component speakers. I wish I had more eq adjustment for frequencies. I would highly recommend this product.

Great Product!!
I have installed this product in my Peugeot 206, near the center console so as to reach it easily when driving and I must say that this is a good product, you can choose two sources: your head unit and your iPod as a second source. The lights are great too, I prefer the blue color instead of the red one and the line driver included works well. So, I recommend this product to anyone who prefers quality without losing power too and S.E is one of the best site ever for car audio and for shipping to my country. Thanx S.E!

Led problems
I went through two of these equalizers in less than four months because the led lights kept burning out. The dealer exchanged it for a clarion eq and I have not had any problems.

great value
Excellent EQ overall.. Sound quality is great .. The built in line driver is awesome and very strong... Used it to replace my old crossfire cfq5x which always had a slight alternator noise.. Could never seem to eliminate it .. The blue lights are a bit bright but i imagine they could be defeated with minimal effort.. Only wish it was a 5 band.

HFEQ = Awesome!
I got this 6 months ago and have been VERY happy with it. It was tested with an oscilloscope which showed it puts out a clean 9v at max volume. This line driver allows me to adjust the bass to each song because as we know every song is different so I always have just the right amount of bass. It fits beneath my Pioneer CD player perfectly and matches the interior lights with it's red LEDs. I'd recommend this to everyone.

Great product
This is a great product, my system never sounded better. I have it connected to the Kenwood DDX 6019 along with the KAC-9104D and the KAC-8404 with two Kenwood W3012, Kicker DS series 6x9s and Focal components for my front stage. @ 9 volts this product made everything come alive. Thanks Sonic Electronix for offering a great product @ such a great price.

Hifonics hfeq
Can't beat the price and hifonics makes good stuff. If you have amps that can be turned up to 9 volts this is a good fit for your system. It helps the poorer recorded music a lot all the 80's-90's rock gets a nice lift with the bass guitar and esp the drums. Very worth while purchase.

Great Value !!!
I ordered it there about 1 month and I assure you that I made the right choice. Easy to connect, a rather simple design but the most important is the power and sound quality.
I can highly recommend it !!!

I love this EQ. I originally bought the clarion in hopes of better sound quality but it was around the same along but the hifonics provides louder crisper sound to me personally. My car sounded so much more different. I highly recommend it this product to anyone

Works as designed with a good price
You don't have to pay big bucks. This model by Hifonics works as designed. If you want to go active and don't have enough controls on your amps, or you want to tweak a particular frequency range, this is for you.
