Wide range of tone

Riding in an 02 Mazda Tribute and the stock speakers weren't holding up with my RF P3 10s. Have a Hifonics Brutus on the 10s and never had problems with it. Since I had such good luck with their amp, I decided to try their speakers (2 pairs of these for Front and Rear). This opened a whole new world of sound for me.

Pros: WIDE range of frequencies, high peak and RMS watts, sturdy construction, nice size magnet and looks stylish.

Cons: NO INSTRUCTIONS at all. The only paper that comes with the set is a template (all size speaker hifonics makes) for building a custom box and instructions on which screws to use when mounting the speaker and grill. Harsh high end without proper EQ. Also, the crossover is hard wired to the cables that would go to your amp, tweeter and woofer.

In my situation, I had to drill holes for the tweeters in my door panels. No big deal, but the ring that holds the tweeter to the panel is a little loose. May have to put tape around the base of the tweeter for the ring to catch on to. Also, I had to make a bracket for the 6.5" speaker to fit in a 6x8 hole. Pretty easy if you google a template for that conversion.

Overall, this was a significant upgrade from my stock fullrange speakers. The mid-lows are very smooth and warm. The highs (tweeters) can be harsh if you don't have an EQ (or amp) to play around the.
