Unbelievable sound and versatility!

I used this amp in my son's Toyota Yaris with two Zeus 12" DVC 4ohm subs (run to 1 ohm) and two sets of Hifonics 6.5" 3 way Zeus speakers and Soundstream tweets. I run with an Alpine media controller and Soundstream parametric eq and the sound quality is beyond what most home hifi systems have. The bass kicks some serious butt! This amp beats ANY combination for the money available! Thank you Hifonics and Sonic Electronics for making this excellent piece of equipment so affordable!

Arrived DOA - went with something else.

I was all ready to hook this new amp up based on the specs. Accepts 4 AWG wire with no problems, wiring was easy, but the protect light was on as soon as I gave it power. I never got to hear it work. I sent it back and went with a different brand of amp, one that cost a bit less and worked right the first time.

6 Years old & still going strong

Bought 2 ZXi 8008's YEARS ago, original install was 2 cars ago, in latest auto and still pumping. Unbelievable how versatile 1 of these 5channel amps can be, imagine what can be done with 2. They have survived midwest humidity and heat, and shook off St. Louis winters. Maxxsonics brands are all engineered just as good, have had great success with Crunch & Autotek as well. I would purchase new again, IF these ever give up!

Nufin But The Truth

I have this amp in my 02 Cadillac Dts. It runs 2 sets of Pioneer 6.5 co mponents and 2sets of Pioneer components dome tweeter off the front channel and a set of 5way pioneer 6x9's off the rear. The sub channel runs 2 Cerwin Vega V-Max 10's in my rear deck in a custom enclosure I built. The amp powers everything without hesitation. It's powerful, clean, & has grade A sound quality. Additionally, I have 2 JL W7 13's in my trunk powered by 2 Hifonics Brz2400, 1 per sub. It knocks to the heavens above but the great part is i can turn my subs completely off and just off this amp powering my 10's, 6x9's & 6.5 door and sounds hella good. Better than the average Joe's. Do your big 3 upgrade! Ample power supply is a must and it took me about a month or 2 to get everything level & equalized to my listening standards.

Cost Effective!!!

Just installed one of these in my personal vehicle. Lots of raw power and makes for a simple, clean and efficient installation. Make sure to run 0/1 gauge wire and a minimum 150amp circuit breaker with this one or you'll wish you had. So far my unit seems to be working great, not overheating or going into protection mode. My only major suggestion would be to set the crossover @ full range to bypass the amps EQ & allow your head unit to process the frequencies. Add's much more headroom and the vocals will come back to life. I don't know if its the active range of the EQ (10khz-15khz) or what, but the highs run way to bright for my taste. If your head unit is decent it will be a tremendous improvement.

For the money, you really cannot beat this piece. You will not find as much overall power in any other amplifiers dollar to dollar. And being a 5 channel amp its perfect for powering a complete car audio system.

Best amp yet... I have it hooked up to 1 2ohm type r 15 and 4 6-3/4 component speakers in my 2001 suburban. =I was a little skeptical because of the price but over all it was better then expected.. it hardly shows any stress and never get hot which I love

Hifonics does it again

WOW. This amp is what I have been looking for for a while. Real good clean highs and tight responsive bass with this one. It took me a bit to get this thing tuned but after getting there all I have to say is, WOW.

Great amp!

I just recently installed this amp in my car and it is amazing. This one amp powers my complete system and that's what I wanted. This beast is pushing (4) Kicker comp 12s and (4) Kicker 6x9s! I haven't had any issues with this beast so far. I can say that this amp is POWER hungry! My 160 amp alternator can barely keep up with this amp. I love it so much, I buying another one to put in my other car.

Hifonics Zeus ZXi60.4 + 1K

This amp is bada**.! I have this amp driving a JL12w6 @2ohms it freaking pounds and does so clean. The 4 channel side is running 4- 61/2's and 2-51/4's. Front channels 2ohms, rear channels 4ohms. Amp runs decently cool and plays really clean and loud. Amp is a little bright on the highs but can be adjusted out. thats just a matter of opion anyway. Installs very clean too I really don't care for the blue illuminated Hifonics logo but you young bucks may like it. Love the amp and would highly recommend.

Great Amp

I needed to upgrade my old Rockford amp as well as my Pioneer 4 ch. they were taking up way to much space, I built a custom box that holds my single 12 Rockford t1. and I have my Rockford 6x8s. This is all in my 07 Mustang. I really was not thinking this amp was going to be all that great. I just wanted something as a temp fix. but after I have this thing hooked up. I got the sub hooked up at 1ohm and the doors are at 4. This thing is great. The blue glow goes great with my neon in the trunk as well. and the stainless on the amp matches the sub.. I'm very happy. The only thing is that this amp is power hungry. I have my yellow top up front with a kinetic dry cell in the trunk. and it works like a charm. very happy

Very Pleased

I have this amp running a dual 2ohm SA-12 at 1ohm,(4) sets Alpine 6x8 type r's, (4) 1" tweeters in each door and this amp is driving it all amazingly, the highs are on point and the lows hit HARD..I would recommend to anyone looking for a single amp to do it all...This amp is POWER hungry just some heads for folks with weak electricals

I'm giving it 4 stars on features due to the lack of subsonic filter, but this shouldn't be a deal breaker

Great Amp.

This is a solid amp. Have it hooked up to 1 Sundown SA-10 2ohm sub and four coaxial speakers powers everything really nice and it bumps the sub super hard. Would definitely recommend.

dissapointed cant believe it

The following review is for a previous version (ZXi8006).

I am a part time installer been dong it since I was 18 im 36 now. I installed this amp with a 10 inch kicker cvr sub running at 2 ohms and two kicker 2008 2 way 6x9's and two 6 inch kicker 2 ways for the doors. I ran all new wiring including three sets of rca's. This amp ran very very hot hotter than any other amp I ever used. The head unit would not go past 20 with the gains almost all the way down because it would shut off. I tested the output on the head unit and adjust the gains according to that it would still shut off I even upgraded the power and ground cable to stinger 4 gauge of course. The ground was bolted on not screwed because screws get loose with vibration and strip out to easy. I dont like how the adjustments are set up. there kinda confusing and takes up more time trying to adjust everything. they use a different scale system thats real wide. I was not getting full power out of this amp and my customer was very disappointed because I told her how good this brand was. I personally use autotek amps same company and they work great. I sent the amp back and was tested defective and I got credit for it this company is very reasonable as long as you don't abuse the equipment. It happens sometimes you get a bad one. I'm not sure if I would use another 5 channel amp again. I rather use a separate amp for the subs.

The all-in-one amplifier!

The following review is for a previous version (ZX8000).

The Hifnocs ZX8000 will solve all your amplifying needs. It has 5 channels so you could either hook up four speakers and your sub, or go for an active setup with two tweeters, two mids, and a sub. I ran this in my Accord during the summer and it has never EVER turned off on me. It stays rather cool even when your blasting your music, and that's probably due to the all aluminum heatsink. The crossovers are very flexible with Highpass, Lowpass, and bandpass crossovers, allowing you to have an active setup without any other processing. I recommend this amp to everybody looking for an all-in-one amplifier. It definitely does rated power and then some, and I am sure the nobody would be disappointed with it!

To The Point.

The following review is for a previous version (ZX8000).

1) Visual :
Eye candy; SOTB, the glowing-blue 'HIFONICS' logo, the CNC-machined aluminum heatsink, moulded-binding posts, MAXXI-FUSES (if you dont know what these are, just Very-Large ATC fuses), overall excellent craftsmanship.. Pleasure to look at.

*One thing of concern is the polished CNC aluminum could be scratched easily if care is not taken.*

2)Features :
Check out this web address for the technical specifications :
http://www.maxxsonics.com/hifonics/ampsnew_zeusamps_spec.html

3)Configuration
With an iPod, I downloaded several
sine waves/bass tests onto it, and properly crossed over the entire system in about 1 hour.

4) Overall
A much better product than anything I could have purchaed at any of the electronic retailers in Canada, ie. Futureshop, A&B Sound, BestBuy, or Visions, and overall, I spent less money for what I wanted EXACTLY, and the next best thing doesn't even come close :)

Great for the price

The following review is for a previous version (ZXi8006).

i have a miata and I put together a custom sealed sub box with 8 5.5" tang bang drivers run down to 2 ohms, and hivi tweeters and woofers. I wanted an all in one 5 channel amp because of space restrictions so I got this amp cause I've heard good things about the brand and the price seemed great. The sound is awesome. The subs run plenty loud and the settings let me dial in my speakers without the need for any crossovers(wish there was a subsonic filter though). I can only say good things about this amp. except that the blue light might be a bit too loud.

Great amp for the price

The following review is for a previous version (ZXi8006).

This a very good amp that outputs it's rated power pretty cleanly. You need to provide it with good signal voltage for best performance, though. If your ground is not ideal, this amp will let you know (through whining).

Also, it really needs to be actively cooled, particularly if you are mounting it recessed where the sides can be covered.

I'm not a big fan of the LEDs. Too bright for me as I can see them in my rear view mirror (Ford Escape), especially since I was trying to do a stealth build this time!

Other than that, it hits hard and doesn't b**** about it, what more do you need.

The best amp for the price

The following review is for a previous version (ZXi8006).

I been using this amp for almost two years and I have no complaints about it. This amp works so well that I´m surprised, because the amp never shut down for the heat or anything, besides the amp sounds very good: I run two pairs of Infinity speakers (6.5 and 6*9) and I get the most pure crystal sound from the amp, and the amp on the dark looks fantastic! I have another Hifonics amp on my sound system and both looks together GREAT on the night. The people always say that this amp it´s an art piece.

Dennis From Las Vegas

The following review is for a previous version (ZX8000).

this is simply a great amp from hiphonics. it has tons of power and the specs are certainly underrated. great features and very easy to install. i am pushing 2 pairs of 6.5" mids with 2 pairs of tweeters and a 10" dvc bazooka tube @ 2 ohms. i am only using the amp at half capacity. amp does get a little hot but it does not shut off. i have looked and looked and there is not another amp that could beat this for the money spent. Definately worth every penny. very highly recommended and is truly a gift from the gods! makes my durango shake like no other!i did not rate durability because i have not had it long enough to rate it. (i only installed it about 5 hours ago)

Good Buy

The following review is for a previous version (ZX8000).

Well First of all I own a nissan 200sx so not to much room to load up all the speakers I want. So I decided this amp would be perfect. I could run my speakers on it and not have to buy another amp to push a sub. I recommend this for anyone with a small vehicle or anyone just getting into car audio.
