Over Heats

It gave a decent amount of power but over heated really bad. It got so hot that you couldnt put your hand on it for more than 1 second. It actually went into protect mode a couple times because it got too hot. But once it cooled down it went out of protect mode.

Hitron HPA800.4 Review

While looking for a replacement unit for my failed Phoenix Gold Tantrum Amp, I came across this low-cost, similar powered Amp with basic or similar features. Even though they are not in the same class, I needed something to replace it as I was selling the vehicle and wanted it to at least sound high-end. Although it does not have the fully adjustable variable bass settings, it still puts out a decent "thump" when runing it at 50% volume. Not bad for the price and recommend it for cash-strapped individuals or a short-term replacement unit.

Very decent amp.

Great amp for the price. Runs well, never had a problem with it. IT DOES RUN HOT. I've measured it with an external thermometer probe running at around 128F. Thermal cut-off temp for Hitron's 2-channel HA-600.2 is 150F (there isn't a given max temperature for this amp in the manual, so your mileage may vary), so there's a good amount of heat it can handle before it'll kill itself with it's built-in heat protection.

Good for the money

Just installed in 99 Accord. Got it pushing 6.5ks Kickers in door and 6x9ks Kickers in the rear. Sound very clear and crisp, No distortion, but the amp gets pretty hot after a bit. Overall excellent purchase, got shipped very fast
