I had a more expensive turntable that broke when I tried to move it. It had a great sound but needed a preamp. This new product has a preamp and was plenty loud on my speakers but I am not happy with the sound. I have to move the arm to the record and move it back when finished by hand which was done automatically with my old record player. I admit that I was spoiled by my old player. If I had to do it over again I would now get a more expensive model. If you are not looking for tone but a good price I would recommend this machine.
