Sold for life on Image Dynamics!
I am so picky when it comes to buying products. I do so much research that it drives me insane. I researched many speakers in the price range of the Image Dynamics CXS64 v.2's before I decided to take a leap of faith and purchase my first Image Dynamics product. It has been the best buying decision I have ever made in car audio. These speakers hit so accurately and sound so realistic that it will make your mouth drop. They create a 3D sound stage and are very low fatigue on your ears thanks to the silk tweeters. The mids hit hard and accurate as well. Very clean mid and low end bass. Do not hesistate on these, unless you want to step up to the 500+ range of speakers, this is the best you can get. There is a reason why their name Image Dynamics has the word IMAGE in it! :)

Search Is Over
I got these after other products fell apart or quit working while still in the warranty period. Searching for a replacement speaker for about a month,I been searching and searching for a good musical powerful speakers. These sound amazing. I have a 05 Buick Lesabre so the tweeers are on axis in the factory door sill. Kenwood x996 head unit and kenwood excelon xr-4s amp. the speaker are underpowered by 5 watts so, they can take a lot more. High are perfect and the mid bass is very good. Everything flow very well together with these speakers. I listen to R&B, old school hip hop, classic rock, jazz and funk music. Heart magic man sounds very authoritative and full with these speakers. With jazz music you here every part of the brass section. They sound like they are in front of me and sound dam good. Some song i listen to a million times before these speakers came out good but with these i can here stuff i never heard before like birds in the back ground chirping. I never knew that it was part of the music until I bought these. Very Very Musical Speakers that reproduce music like it was meant to be heard even at loud levels crystal clear. If your on the fence about these, get off the fence and get these. You will not be disappointed. Image Dynamics fan for life.

Awesome!
I went back and forth between these and a comparable set of JL components. I'm totally satisfied with these. Crisp, clear highs and strong mids. I'm pushing them with the head unit right now but will add 125 rms to each soon. I can't wait to hear what they will sound like then. I've owned Boston, JBL, and Alpine and these blow them away with clarity. Strongly recommended.

pure music
this is as simple as it gets if you like clean sound with strong midbass get these cross over 80-100hz 12-24 db slope depending on power applied im running active with 75x4 and to me its plenty. if you want total clarity and accurate music detail get the xs65 components. i have heard alot of components in my life and these really bring the music to life with clarity, detail, staging, imaging and total musical accuracy and they do have midbass, despite popular belief i did find that in my setup the xs65 work better with a hi pass filter on the midbass around 3-4khz 12+db octive i cant say enuff about these buy either one and youll have great sound at a great price

Amazing features and sound!
The sound quality is the best I’ve had in my car/s while the adjustability if the crossovers give me adequate fun time when setting this up. This won’t be your traditional component install, at least for most; you are able to adjust crossover frequency, slopes, and gain, amazing :) I wish I had time to install an amp too to see how much louder they’ll get. They are currently getting factory amplification.

Awesome
I installed these speakers in a 2013 Silverado with the Metra adapters. The key to getting good sound out of these is proper installation with plenty of sound deadening. These speakers are very large and need plenty of mounting depth to allow for a proper seal. The tweeters have an insanely large surface area and may not fit most stock locations. I installed 40 sq ft. of NVX deadener per door and 6.5" foam fast rings to help dampen the vibrations from the midbass and help direct the sound. The tweeters are mounted in the sail panels. They are running passive bridged on channels 1 & 2 and 3 & 4 on a JL XD 600/6 crossed over at 80 hz and they sound amazing. I have plans to ditch the crossover and run active with a DSP, but for now the crossover works fine. The midbass is strong and the tweeters are crisp without being harsh like aluminum. If you are not installing the midbass driver on or within 1 ft. of the tweeter, you need to read the manual and switch the crossover jumpers appropriately. When the tweeter is further from the midbass, the tweeter needs to be crossed higher. While these speakers have excellent midbass, they are not subwoofer replacements. I hope Image Dynamics has plans to switch to push connectors for the next generation because it is difficult to find spade terminals that fit the positive connection, the provided ones are too small unless you bend them. Also, the crossovers do not accept wire much larger than 18 awg. I used knukonceptz 12 gauge in my installation and had to install bullet connectors to fit enough wire into the crossover.

Awesome!
Best set of components ive owned!!! Which have included hertz, morels, kicker, alpine and crescendo. Overall great balanced sound !.. Powered by a PPI P900.4 probably seeing 125 watts set with the dd-1...Tweeters are not bright non fatiguing and mids are perfect!. Overall the set is well balanced for all types of music. I will take away one star for the connections on the crossover which is a pita!. requires like 18 gauge maybe 20 or smaller wire .. I prefer the screw type like most sets i've owned have because i run 16 gauge OFC either way it worked. Many crossover points for the tweeters and level adjustments which is a plus. I set mine as per recommended for A pillars other than i set the tweeter attenuation at -2db. For $160 i paid for these there's nothing out there that can compare. This set is staying installed for a long time. Sonic has great service and speedy shipping!

Great Speakers
Love these speakers. The install went well, but be warned they are deep for a lot of doors. So make sure you can fit a 3 inch deep speaker. They sound amazing right out of the box and even better with my dsp setup. I used these to replace and old set of diamond hex's that cost twice as much and these sound much better.

Definitely an upgrade
First set of aftermarket speakers I have bought. It is night and day compared to the factory JBL system in my GS300 and even the B&O system in the A4. The tweeters are too big so factory location (door sail) is not usuable; which turns out to be a good thing. Using them in a coaxial setup, default crossover settings, the imaging is improved significantly. Music sounds more lively, each different sound is more noticeable as if headphones were used; with a wide soundstage on the dash. I must say the way they have soldered the 22 gauge wires on the tweeters scare me. I feel they will come apart if you wiggle them too much during installation but luckily they did not. Other than that and the flimsy looking spade terminals, build quality is fairly nice. Oh right, had to clean out the threads on one woofer to get the tweeter to fit on properly (probably some paint or gunk on threads). Mid woofer mounting required a 0.5" spacer for my GS300. Mind you this is still a preliminary setup powered off a headunit. Mids are there, vocals are a lot stronger than stock speakers but definitely needs more than 10wrms. Doors have been deadened with NVX deadener. Will be purchasing a pioneer headunit with T/A and probably some RTA tuning for this to sound even better than it already is. Would definitelt recommend this to people who want decent audio in their vehicle.

ID CXS64V.2
Bought these to replace Polk DB6501's. Good speakers, but not what I wanted.
These ID's sound amazing! Highs are bright & crisp, & mid's are just where they need to be.
Really impressed with the sound quality of these speakers.
If you have the room to mount these, go for it. You will not be disappointed. I'm Sold on Image Dynamics products.
Price is not bad, either.
Sonic Electronix are easy to deal with & quality products.

These are the best performance speakers you can buy for $230 right now!!!!!!!
Wow when i bought these speakers they were 320.00 a set and i thought they were worth that money and now they are 230 wow that is a steal of a deal if you ask me! I have had plenty of high end systems and let me tell you that these are on par with any of the seakers costing at least 2 times as much!!! At this price its a no brainer!! I have these bi amped right now an they sound amazing they can take the wattage they claim and more as long as you know how to set the crossover points!! i am very pleased with the tonal accuracy and sound stage they produce!!!! they put out enough midbass at lower volumes but as you raise it to 125 watts for the 6.5 and 100 watts to the tweeter you should crossover at 100hz with a 24db slope and you will be rocking them!!!! They sound great enough to enter into the competition with!!! Enough said buy these and you wont regret it!!

Awesome sound with unfortunate planning
First off, absolutely incredible sound for the price, and as a home theater enthusiast, I've heard some pretty expensive speakers on some pretty expensive amps. On an equalizer with a little tweaking, forget about it, quite the impressive clarity at a very exceptional price, although I do have a few gripes.
I absolutely did not like the plastic encasing on the tweeters, same goes for the mids, the baskets on the woofers ARE PLASTIC... like... seriously? at this price? It's something I would expect out of something less than $50, but when you slap a $380 price tag on something, I would at least expect aluminum baskets on the woofers, which even cheaper brands like boss has stamped aluminum. I tore up the back of one of the tweeters because the grill was cross threaded, so, warranty voided. Second, the tweeter leads, the oh so thin leads leading to the tweeters are hard-wired. I understand why they did this, because they can be used as coaxials if you so please, but if you make 1 too many mistakes and cut those wires too short, you're gonna have to buy new tweeters, because guess what? they're press fit into the flimsy plastic, so good luck soldering new leads without tearing up the diaphragm.
I guess now that I'm putting thought into it, and typing it, it's safe to say that the tweeters are what made the execution of an otherwise fantastic sounding set of components a HUGE buzz-kill, but at least the crossovers are protected by good aluminum, which leads me to my next point. It took a little prying, but I was able to get the covers off the crossovers to adjust the settings. Many other manufacturers tend make these settings adjustable without having to pry apart their very expensive equipment. It's a very good thing I'm a DIY-er, otherwise I would have returned these because I would not have been able to put up with the headache the tweeters and crossovers have caused.
On another note, that little bag of goodies can simply be tossed. If you don't already have solder, a soldering iron, and flux, get you some of those because it's a lot more quality connection. And I have no idea what that allen key was for, because it was too small for the screws on the crossovers, which is what i though it was for, but it wasn't. And none of the screws in the bag are hex, they're all philips, so way to go image dynamics.
I payed $270 for this set, and I think that is THE absolute max I would have payed, given the plastic woofers baskets and tweeter frames. Plus here is an even bigger middle finger, the tweeter to woofer connectors are aluminum, as well as the bullets that cover the pole piece when they're being used as components, those are at least aluminum, and probably the most durable parts of this entire system. I can imagine the woofer baskets cracking in cold weather.
Had I designed these, I would have made the tweeter to woofer connectors with a hole on the side to route the wires through, thus granting the ability to solder new leads if ever required

Excellent price!!! Great Value!!!
For the price of the open box cxs64 v.2 you can't beat the value. Not sure how everyone else's boxes looked but I couldn't tell it was an open box. I am running this component set off an old jl audio slash 300/4 and they sound amazing. I would definetly recommend this product for someone looking for great sound at an amazing price.
