Best sound quality/spl sub period

The following review is for IDMAX12 D4 V.4, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

I have had many subwoofers in my life but this is by far the best for sound quality and SPL that I have encountered. In addition this subjects and a small cubic foot box which makes it ideal for fiberglass enclosure's. I am using this subwoofer in conjunction with A jl audio HD 750/1 monoblock amplifier and it sounds amazing! I highly recommend the subwoofer to anyone that wants SQL for the price and the quality I cannot think of many that meet or exceed this one.

WOW!

The following review is for IDMAX12 D4 V.4, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

I had never heard of Image Dynamics before, until Sonic recommend their IDAMX 12 as an alternative to the JL Audio W7 12. I wanted a sub that could get loud but also maintain good sound quality. The Image Dynamics IDMAX 12 did not disappoint. I think it would be hard to beat it in a sound quality competition, honestly. It sounds amazingly clean, accurate, and tight, even in a ported enclosure. And when you put some power to it, it transforms into an absolute monster. I have mine powered by a BASH 500S subwoofer amp. If I even turn it up to half volume it shakes my six bedroom house, literally. I have tried turning it up all the way and the sub just drinks the power, but I don't leave it up for fear of clipping the amp. I would love to hear this beast on 900 watts. I think 1,000 watts continuously might push it to its limits. Even so, it performs impressively on just 500 watts. All in all, I would definitely recommend this sub to anyone looking for a high output driver that can maintain its composure at high volumes. The sound quality is impeccable. The build quality is solid. And the aesthetics are clean and simple.

VERY VERY NICE SOUNDING

The following review is for IDMAX12 D4 V.4, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

I bought this sub for SQ and it also gets loud while keeping its composure.
Wanted a Focal K2 E30 KX but had a hard time with the $1000 price tag.
I have Focal Performance 165AS3 in the truck doors. I built a sealed fiberglass box for the IDMAX12. It is about 1.3cu ft. JL audio HD750 for the sub. For the Focals i'm running a JL HD 600/4. Thinking on getting a Audio Control DM608 for speaker processor for more control on the Focals.
This sub completes this setup nicely. I cant believe how hard it hits and how great it sounds! The deck is a Sony MEX-GS620BT.

OMG

The loudest single subwoofer I have ever heard. I know there are louder ones, but not with this sound quality. This is a purchase you won't regret. You don't need a 1000 watt amp though. A 500 watt RMS amp is more than enough for this subwoofer.

Great sound.

It is a good sub, it gives true bass sound, not easy to find, it can take the power burst and sounds good at low volume, needs a stong amp not for low quality amps. It was a good price.

You're not paying for the name here...

Running this off of a Kicker ZX1000.1 wired to 2ohms and it has faired well so far. My box is built a little large and tuned quite low so it does not fit my taste. Will be looking to rebuild at the end of the summer. With rap/hip-hop though, it sounds great!

Brother has the same sub and amp in a different box and it can pound and still sound fantastic for all music genres! Make sure to spend time on the box design, and you will not be disappointed. Don't run it in a sealed box, build yourself a nice ported (preferably slotted because this thing can move some air). Along with the box design get yourself good equipment, hardware, etc. to use it to its full potential.

Don't let the name fool you this is an old school sub that can compete with the W7 at half the price. This review might not be helpful but seriously do your research and get what you want. I was thinking about going W7 or XXX, but at this price it's hard to pass up. It's hard to justify the price of the other two, plus you have to feed them. This is a very efficient subwoofer that can run well on as low as 500 watts and still put out the bass.

Very nice sound quality subwoofer

This is a great sound quality subwoofer. Have it in a 1.7 cu/ft sealed box yet it still produces deep and accurate bass. It's responsive to genres like drum n bass and heavy metal. I really doubt it will take 1000 wrms though; probably 600-700 watts if sealed. The voice coil gap is so tight that I had it rubbing within the second day of using it but it works fine now. I will probably recommend using a ported enclosure for additional output.

Great SQ Sub

For those of you who are familiar with car audio SQ subs, you probably know that the IDMAX subs are a top contender for producing amazing sound quality. After much research and finding a great deal on SonicElectronix's ebay store, I decided to give it a try and I was very impressed. It's mounted in a 1.2CU sealed enclosure and it sounds amazing. Prior to purchasing the IDMAX I've had an Alpine Type X and a Polk Audio SR124 SVC and I must say, the IDMAX is the cleanest sounding sub out of the three. Although it doesn't slam as hard at the type X does it sounds a lot cleaner. This sub hits every note accurately and it can get down low with no problems. The IDMAX however, doesn't hit the high notes as well as the SR124 but overall, its a very musical sub. It's great for all types of genres. I should note that you may want to research on what amps are best for this sub because my Alpine MRP-1000 amp doesn't like this sub very much. If played at high volumes, the amp will shut off when the sub hits a low note. It's kinda weird and I'm not sure why it does that but I heard that it's a common issue with those amps when powering an IDMAX.
