X57 for the win..

I ended up with these speakers because my original choice for a component woofer didn't work out as planned and i am very glad it didn't.
These speakers love power so don't try and run them off a head unit, that will be a huge fail..
I wouldn't call myself an audiophile but i know what sounds good and what doesn't, these X57's completely transformed my sound stage and brought the bass up front where it belongs.
My system is full-active with 2-way front stage and a sub, the X57 was the icing on the cake and the off-axial response is outstanding, very smooth and refined would be good term to describe the sound, they do a fine job of bridging the gap between the tweeters and the sub.
They use a very stiff and thick plastic basket which helps to reduce the overall weight of the speaker while keeping it just as strong if not stronger than a cast aluminum or stamped steel basket..
These woofers are designed for Infinite Baffle so they are right at home inside your door with adequate damping.
You may ask yourself if a pair of 5x7 woofers are worth $204, the answer is a very resounding YES !!
There is a myth surrounding oval speakers and some folks may tell you that an oval speaker can't perform as well as a round speaker, it's a myth..
Cone Area Is King and a 5x7 will walk all over a 5.25", a 5x7 is equivalent to a 6" speaker and will perform just as well as most 6.5's..
