eeh....

They sounded great at first, but after a while i blew two of my 4 speakers. Granted, I was giving them twice the power I should have, but with other high-end speakers i've noticed they are a lot more durable. If you didn't notice in the specs, infinity speakers ARE 2 OHMS. This is where i went wrong. They're not terrible, but also don't buy just for the name. Rockford Fosgate makes some 6x8's that i prefer much more than these for the similiar price range.

Great, just Great

Installed these in the door of our 2013 Mustang convertible. Due to the premium sound system's stock speakers, I had to order speaker brackets for a 2012 coup but the change was quick and easy. The speakers really provide warm mids and crisp highs. For use with a head unit they out perform their bigger brother 6829 Kappa.

awesome prouct,highly recommend

I purchased these for my wife's 02 ford explorer for Christmas. It replaced pioneer 3-ways, and needless to say was far superior than the pioneers. Being that these were 2-ohm speakers, it was like I changed amplifiers as well. Crystal clear highs, an awesome midbass. 110% satisfied with my purchase, great price as well.

Ford's best friend

Replaced the front door speakers in my 2013 Mustang convertible with these about a month ago. Sonic had a great price and the product arrived in two days. Had to order a speaker bracket from ford for the doors but after that instalation was simple and easy. Sound quality is much improved over stock and these even sound better of the HU than the 682.9.

clear and accurate speakers

I put these in the rear deck of a Mustang to replace some junk speakers the previous owner had installed. The clarity and accuracy of these speakers is exactly as I expected from Infinity. They are not made for systems with big power but they work perfectly with a head unit powered system or a small amp.

Nothing Special

There is nothing special or worthwhile with this speaker. They sound nice, just same as most speakers over 40 dollar range. The problem is that if you push them loud, their tweeters will go, leaving you with a dull sounding woofer.

Do yourself a favor and don't buy just for the name. Don't get any mid priced model when for another 30 bucks you can get the real deal. If you are serious and don't want to waste your money you won't regret spending a little more on the Infinity Kappa 682.9cf...

Those do hold up at high levels and sound way better with more depth and natural sounding mids & highs. So remember, the Infinity Kappa 682.9cf are ones to get. These are just mediocre at best.

I have both and I now have to replace these because tweeters blew out. I am getting the Precision Power PPI PC572, because it is 3 ohms and has separate crossover and high dB sensitivity and can take more watts RMS. It should sound better at almost half the cost of this one. I look at materials and specs, not dumb name brands that like to cash in on popularity.

Great Bass

Well, believe it or not, I had a pretty crappy sub in the back of my car, around 250RMS or so, and then I put in these speakers, and I thought that my sub was producing the majority of the bass, turns out my sub had been blown for a while and it was the speakers. Pretty good speakers if you ask me, I'd recommend to anybody, decently clear. If you crank up the bass though it can start to get hissy, but they are speakers not subs, so really shouldn't be much bass coming out of them. Awesome Mids. BTW, great for Fords because they rock the 6x8s all day.

Quality Product

Crystal clear speaker. This was a noticeable upgrade over the factory speakers, and distortion isn't an issue. I like the built in tweeter option as well. Bass does lack a little, but I have a sub so it isn't an issue for me. Overall, if you are looking to replace factory speakers, I highly recommend these Infinity ones, especially for the low price.

Great Christmas Gift

This was a purchase for our teenage son's truck (his 1st one).
After shopping online & finding this site...we were very happy with the price, quality of the product & prompt service by Sonic Electronix. We would recommend others to take a look at this site to see if they can find what they are looking for before making a purchase on another.
This stereo has great sound & the speakers fit perfectly as the information said they would. Thanks :)

Good highs, weak bass

Pros: clear mids and highs, rotating tweeter, adjustable treble, cheap, will fit in doors of many cars.
Cons: weak mid bass.

If you read through the reviews of Infinity's Reference and Kappa speakers, either coaxials or comps, you will gather quickly that these speakers are being liked for their clear mids and highs, but not so much for bass.

I own a pair of these speakers. They're in the front doors of my Ford Taurus. My experience with them has been similar to what has already been reported elsewhere. You get nice clear highs and mids. The voices and sound staging feel very good. However, mid bass (forget the low bass) is kinda weak. It's there, it's well controlled, it can be heard, but it's somewhat weak compared to either factory speakers or my pioneers in the rear deck. In the end, these speakers are pretty good for their price. The ideal car setup for these speakers is one where they are in the front doors and bass is handled by a subwoofer.

Not to bad

These are pretty good speakers. Had the alpine type R in the truck before I bought these and the alpines sounded better. Not bad for the price
