2004-2007 sequoia JBL replacement

Replaced the rear door speakers in my 2005 Sequoia. Wow EXCELLENT. WORTH the trouble. Too small for the front door IF you have JBL 10 speaker system. An 8" woofer works it already has a mid and tweeter in the front. (FACTORY AMP)

Some of The Best Speakers You Could Get

I just bought these speakers about a month ago, I got em to replace my old Kenwoods that just didnt give me the quality I wanted and from the first moment that I turned on my radio I noticed a huge improvement every note is clear and crisp and they get pretty loud. Im planning to amp em up soon with a MTX Thunder Elite amp cant wait to hear em then.

infinity Kappa 62.9I

I have had alot of speakers and i think i like these the most there not as sharp as my old memphis but they are sharp and verry loud and if you put them on an amp they will blow you away and can keep up with a audioque HDC3 18" sub ...I am going to put them in my other cars...build quality is better then you think your going to pull them out of the box and say wow!!..

great speaker and great seller

Speaker is great with good sound and solidly built. this is my second pair cause the first were defective, but let me mention that sonicelectronix is a great seller to deal with. they worked with me despite of my return being damaged during shipment. they still sent me a replacement with no problem.

Amazing High and Mids

I have two sets of these speakers and i love them. I have them running at 100 watts RMS off of a 4 channel amp with a Kenwood head unit. I haven't been able to get the bass I am looking for out of them but running them with a sub woofer is an all around amazing system. If you want a reasonably priced speaker with amazing highs and mids then these are your speaker.

Really happy with the speakers I bought! Really loud, clear and plently of bass if needed! Owned it for 6 months still blasts strong. Broke my other kind due to off-roading but that's my fault! Lol
Just buy them and you'll be happy!

I actually put these in my boat. They are sounding great. I replaced the stock Fosgate speakers with these infinity and you can tell the difference in sound quality. Deeper, more rich, warm sound. Great price too!

Best speakers I've ever installed

Paired with a 75 watt X4 amp, simply amazing the power and clarity I'm getting. Didn't even need to install the subwoofer...you can barely hear/feel it. If you want a sub to keep up, make sure you get a 10" or 12". (A single 8 is what I'm using)

Better than I Expected

These are very clear and bright-sounding speakers. I did not think the bass would be all that adequate, but it is definitely adequate for classic rock. Probably not for rap, though.

Great sound at a great price

Bought for a 1997 Cherokee. Fit in with a few simple modifications. They are a little too deep for the doors but no cutting was required. Sound great and will be buying a second pair for the back. Would recommended to anyone looking for great mid low and highs all around. Sound fine just off the head unit as well

Great Value

I put two sets of these speakers along with a JVC KW-XR810 stereo in my son's '03 Celica GTS. We were on a budget so we did not go with component speakers. I was amazed at how much better this system sounds than the factory stereo with the JBL speakers. The bass that comes from these 6 1/2" speakers is unbelievable. I was leaning towards staying with a JBL speaker but after I did my research and compared the performance specifications these Infinity Kappas were clearly the best bang for the buck.

Personal Opinion

I was trying 62.9l The Infinity Kappa rear door of a Peugeot 307. The doors were soundproof, but ue into the car door is ue boring, because they originally come factory coaxial cable bolted to the panel, so we had to supplement a wooden ring to fit.
Went with a Kenwood stereo and X994 volume of 24 sound great and have very good shot, a sound very linear, more than 26 distorted, but is normal in non-amplified speakers.

Infinity Kappa 92.9I

Since I have installed these speakers in my jeep's sound bar, the clarity has been amazing. They totally blew the factory sound out of the water. They would probably sound better if I were pushing them with an amp, but even without one they still rock.

Great Speakers

I used these to replace front door speakers in a Saab 9-5. They looked excellent, had no issues with the install and they sound wonderful. \\they went in a very good HK factory system. A big improvement but are of the quality that with upgraded amps they would really shine. A great deal at this price point as well

infinity 62.9i car speakers

I did the self install on these speakers. The job was not difficult. You just have to take your time, no one is going to do a better job then you.!! The TWO most important thins you must watch out for on the install: The depth of the speakers with your glass windows and the wire dongle from the speaker. Not a BIG Problem.!! I just drilled two holes on the side. Slid a plastic Cable Tie in one hole around the dongle into the other hole, then tie off.!! Held secured, no rattle.!!! These Speakers are Wonderful, it is worth the investment of your time.

Great product for the price

I bought four of these speakers about a year ago for my tacoma and noticed a great improvement over stock speakers. Installation was fairly easy. Adjustable tweeters are a plus on these speakers and produce great highs as well as bumbling lows. for 6.5" speakers these are a great value.

Amazing

I am not sure if its just because I have been listening to the stock speakers for so long but these speakers pump hard. I have my amp tuned to only play the high pass through these speakers and they still hit pretty hard with a decent amount of bass. I would definitely recommend these speakers to anyone.

Exceptional Speakers - Exceeded My Expectations

Every pair of 6 1/2 speakers that I have purchased throughout the years has been a disappointment, mainly due to the weak bass and poor imaging. These beauties were definitely an exception!!! Installed in an 07 Accord Sedan, these babies produce resounding highs, balanced mids and SURPRISINGLY low lows. They are a fantastic complement to my 693.9i speakers. And the kicker is that they are only powered by the stock stereo. I'm satisfied as-is and can't wait to see what they sound like with an amplifier. The only down side that I can think of is that the base is lacking at low volumes, but an amp would cure that. If you're installing them in an Accord use the Metra adapter #82-7803 and some self tapping screws and your in business without cutting or fussing. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

simply AMAZING!!!!!

ok so i have a 2001 ranger edge that i am installing my stereo system in. first off my stock speakers are 6x8's and i prefer round speakers, so i purchased a 2 sets of scooche speaker 6 1/2 mounting brackets for the 6x8 speaker openings, these infinity kappa's fit perfect. so i wanted to get something that i could afford but still sound AMAZING!! these are by FAR the speakers to get. i bought 2 sets and i dont even have my aftermarket deck and amps in yet and they sound AMAZING!! i am buying a Kenwood eXcelon KDC-X792 deck and then i am buying a decent 4 channel amp to power these. i have an ascendant audio arsenal 15" subwoofer thats going behind the seats so i definitely need a set of speakers that can get loud sound great and be able to overpower that sub if needed. these are them! i love the look of these speakers with the woven fiber cones and the ability to aim the tweeter at the listener really makes a difference. the external crossover is a MUST with any good audio system. i used to have a set of polk audio momo championship speakers i loved them, actually the two are very similar to eachother!!! but they dont make them anymore so, needless to say i have these bad boys. if your looking for a great set of speakers but dont have all that much money, jsut save up an exra bit of money and get these, dont be in a hurry, you'll regret it. i mean these speakers compare to sets for 3 times as much. cant wait till i get the deck and new amps. i'll get back to you when i do!!!!

Superb sound at a fair price!

Ive been using Infinity Kappa series speakers for YEARS in several different cars and trucks. The 62.9i Kappa’s are incredible! I installed 4 of them in my old 2000 Rav4 but have used this same speaker in my Tacoma 4x4 and in the doors of my 2000 Mazda MX5 Miata. I must say that they come alive with a proper amplifier or high quality head unit. Do yourself a favor, set the bass at 0 and begin turning the mid and high end up. ONLY after feeding them some power!! Im feeding my Kappas with about 20 wats RMS all the time, my Bass is set at -1, mid at +4 and high at +5 and it sounds incredible! Im running them in foam baffles with the bottoms cut out too. I only drop the ease of use category because of the factory installed outboard cross over, it makes installing them in certain locations a pain...

By Ilovemountains on August 29, 2011

great little speakers

Very good sounding speaker that handles a good amount of power. I run 75watts rms to them and they sound good. I recommend using hushmat or dynamat when placing them in the doors of your vehicle. Also get some tie wraps or aka zipties for the little crossover.

The reason you should buy name brand speakers

I have these in my 94 camaro and after owning sony, pioneer, jbl and kenwood I can honestly say these are the best. No other speaker this size gives this much bass for being so small.very loud and clear but to really get the best sound you need to amp them and have a good head unit with a good level of adjustment. They will still sound good just off the head unit but not once you turn the volume to the max. my kenwood plays them good just a few ticks under its max. You can adjust the angle of the tweeter buy only twisting it so DO NOT PULL ON IT TRYING TO MAKE IT PIVOT cause it doesn't. I thought i would adjust the crossover and turn the tweeter down but it gives you perfect detail without hurting your ears. I mostly listen to hip hop which can some times be bass heavy and blow most speakers so the built in crossover is nice

Brilliant!

Easily best bang for you buck. Have these installed in a 2001 civic sedan in the front kicks and back panels. These speakers were a super easy install. Ran them originally off the head unit (Sony CDX-GT930UI) and off the head unit they sounded beautiful. Then amped them off a cheap 4ch amp i had lying around and sounded gorgeous. The bass response off these is amazing for a 6" coax. They were a little bright for my tastes at first but if you hit the tweet button it will throttle it back -3db and it sounds absolutely perfect. Oh yeah and these are much cheaper than a lot of other coaxes ive dealt with in the past but sound just as good if not better than their more expensive counterparts. Worth every penny and versatile for running off head unit or amped. I highly recommend these.

So how do they sound?

What can I say, choosing speakers isn't easy. There is no way to listen to them all before your purchase a pair. You can go to Worst Buy and play around with them but you can't get a good listen in before a store goon comes up to bother you. Honestly, what are you to do? In my car I have an Alpine 9885 head unit, stock speakers, Kappa Perfect Sub hooked to a Kappa One Amplifier. I was between getting these infinity speakers to go along with my infinity Sub or getting Alpine Type-R speakers to go with my head unit. Long story short I bought the Infinities for two reasons; a) Type R speakers were sold out on this site and b) the Infinity's were 2 ohm which is a plus because I am running them off the head unit. So how do they sound? Well, they sound awesome, these things really sing. Running off the head unit they still get plenty of power and get way to loud for me before they distort. The sound is clear and the lows are complemented very well with my sub. I am glad I bought these speakers. I have no idea how the Type r's would have sounded but I don't care because the infinity's are great speakers and I am happy and that's all that matters. Also, if you read this entire review than you are probably an audio freak like me that spends way too much time scrolling the products on Sonic Electronix and I just thought you should be aware of that. Keep your volume up and your windows down, You'll hear me before you see me.

Thumping speakers

I put these speakers in my 2003 dodge Dakota with the infinity system because my old speakers were blown due to them being 11 years old and some very heavy bass. I replaced them with the 62.9i's and they are great replacement speakers for a factory system with an amp, wonderful bass and great sharpness. I'm highly satisfied with them, they ROCK!

Great sounding detailed speaker

Infinity has been my standard for over 15 years now with infinity Kappa's as my go to speaker. These speakers are replacing the former set due to one of the door speakers developing a rattle in the speaker after a few years of daily hard use. This version of the Kappas excels the earlier version that I had installed as far as build quality and slightly better in term of sound quality. I appreciate the built in crossovers and rotating tweeters that other manufacters do not offer. I actually purchased another manufacturers speaker but returned them since they did not match the sound I had grown accustomed too with the Kappas.

Great Bike Speakers on 2014HD

Got these to replace the oem speakers in the front fairing on my 2014 street glide. The originals were 2 ohm, so I chose these as a direct replacement. HUGE improvement! much more clarity, punchier bass, crisper highs, and a good bit more volume. I ended up added a Fosgate PBR300x2 amp and the Infinitys really came to life. Bike sounds better than most cars now. Only MINOR complaint is the crossover/connection point hangs off the speaker so you have to add extra steps for mounting it.

FANTASTIC COAXIALS!

Absolutely LOVE these coaxials. These are 2 (ok 2ish) ohm speakers so they get the perfect amount of power from your amplifier or even from your radio's built in amp. The tweeters are not overly metallic and have a pure natural sound. Very reminiscent of the Emit-R tweeters in my home speakers. PLUS they are directional and have the ability to attenuate their output to easily match your stereo and personal preferences. Lots of midbass from the oversized woofer cones and all nice and tidy in a great 6.5/6.75 package. These went right into the rear doors of my Traverse and match the 3.5" kappas that I installed in the 3rd row factory holes. Beautiful speakers, beautiful sound.
