jbl cs 1214 is great

These speakers are just simply amazing I was ultra surprised at how loud they are compared to other speakers and I would recommend these to anyone really just an amazing product they are worth way more than they are selling for.

Exceeded Expectations

Running two of these in a sealed box and they really surprised my how good they sound. I wasn't expecting much but they do get pretty loud and low. I'm giving them 500 watts rms to share so the power is perfect for their capability. For a budget sub they're perfect. They're 12's and they sound like 12's. I only wish they had better terminal connectors.

JBL Are The Truth

These JBL subs are just AWSOME! I'm using them in a vintage pair of JBL L100T's. The original woofers deteriorated over time which I purchased over 30 years ago. I had them reconed once and they deteriorated again. I caught a deal on a pair of Kicker Comps which I purchased and caught a deal, buy one and one free for $99. The where ok but could not hit the low bass I was looking for. I'm pushing these speakers with vintage NAD 2155 in 4 ohm mode. I then put a pair of Alpine Type R in the Jbl cabinets. They hit pretty good which I thought was great until I purchased these JBL-CS1214. Man do these subs sound like the original woofers. These bad boys slam. I mean they really slam and the low bass I was looking for was there. I ended up playing every cd in my collection all over again and even the NewSchool music with all the strong low bass was a joy to listen to. I sold the Kickers and the Alpines and I will buy another pair of these JBL'S to put in my pickup truck when I restore it. Trust me when I say that these JBL'S are the truth.

Great subs

I like these subs you don't need a huge amp to get deep and heavy bass out of them. I have them in a ported box with a Sony classD amp at 500w RMS at 1/2 gain to break them in and they slam. I like the look of these subs no chessy plastic or rubber on the magnets and cone. They have a big JBL 1000watt on them to let you know they mean business and let me tell you they do. I would recommend these for anyone.

Very Nice Quality speaker that will give a hard bang... I recommend.. I got it to match the other 3 I already had.. Now I have a 4 pack that really bang.

I have installed these in 4425 studio speaker cabinets, they of course are not meant for that environment tons of low end , at an awesome price. They look awesome, Pushing them with a Kenwood home stereo from the early 90's running 100 w RMS and they could easily take double that.

In love with these subs

Bought one 12 inch cs1214 for my truck a long time ago, went through about 20 different set ups/systmes in my truck, and just recently i bought 4 12 inch cs1214's my trunk in my BMW. It bangs so hard! i love it, im so happy i came back to JBL. it definelty is a lot better than kicker, kenwood, jl, lanzar, planet audio, id recommend JBL to anyone who wants the best bass for their money, i have the best car system anyones ever heard around town, i shake the cars next to me at lights and im only giving 1 cubic foot of air for each subwoofer. the best bang for your buck

I purchased theese to replace 3 Memphis pr's I have three of these and I absolutely love them great sound quality amazing output for the price great control for tight kicking bass while getting low for long rolling bass in other words they slam with a classic design

Good for the money

People it's jbl, I have two of these babies in sealed boxes on a TRUE 2000 watt crunch amp at 4 oms running at a 1000 Watts per sub continually it's not a game.

Great "bang" for teh buck!

I put these into an old set of home stereo tower speakers to replace some blown woofers. I have another pair of the exact same speakers with MTX Thunder woofers in them. The JBL's hit harder and clearer.

The money I spent on these was well worth it to revive these old speakers for my shop!

These things knock!

First, I haven't had a system in a vehicle in years. I ordered one 12" speaker and a sealed single truck box for my '04 single cab F-150. As I predicted, it wasn't enough for me, as I used to have good systems back in the 90's when I was a teenager. I ordered another JBL 12" 1000 watt and a dual 12" sealed truck box. I have a Boss monoblock amp that pushes 250 RMS at 4 ohm and 1100 watts at 2 ohm. I have the speakers wired in a series to operate at 2 ohm (More watts and amp has an easier time pushing power). I wasn't impressed at first. Once I tuned the gain and sensitivity on the amp just right, these speakers came to life! It has only been three days since I installed these. They aren't close to being broken in yet and these things pound! They hit on all frequencies. Low, medium, and high! They definitely exceeded my expectations. The speakers are in a sealed box too! They will sound even better in a vented box or band pass box. My poor truck is probably going to rattle apart. Seriously though. I had some good systems back in the day. JL Audio, Kenwood HQ's, IMPP Pioneer, Cerwin Vega, MTX, etc. etc. etc., and these speakers bring back the old days, without breaking the bank. I recommend these. I might end up buying two more and fabricating my own ported box and putting all four in the bed with a cover on. That should upset the neighbors!

Great sound for the price!

I got this sub for around $40. I wasn't expecting much out of it, just a cheap replacment for my old one until I had the money for something higher end. I have been very surprised to find the sound of this isn't bad at all. It doesn't hit quite as low as I'd like, but other than that it's really good. I would recommend this sub to anyone on a budget or getting their first sub.

Amazing for the price

Amazing for the price they are loud and hits some serious bass even hits the foot bass perfectly. I just wish it didn't have the old style connections. They left out the extra fancy stuff to make a more quality sounding subwoofer for a lower price and it shows.

Great value on a budget

I would recommend this to anybody that is on a budget and doesn't have a lot of money to spend but wants decent music and be able to be heard

THESE SUBS SLAP!

I installed a pair of these in my car and it changed the way I hear music forever. The bass hits harder than my momma when I forged her signature on my report card. I use a NVX BDA750 Amplifier and it runs rather smoothly. It really brings out the lows. All my trap music bumps even my husband's jazz albums sound good in my car. And I hate Jazz. I highly recomend them.

Great speaker at a great price.
Sounds good, deep and considerably tight for a 12, I use it in a ported box in the back Volvo wagon..so it does its thing nicely. Good for an amp that's not really a power plant as well as a large amp due to the lower rms required and high max.
They need to bring back the 10" version for more articulation of rock and pop music.

Powerful sub for a great price

High quality sound for a great price. I installed this jbl sub in my waggon powered by only 165 watt Boston amp and it's still earth shaking with all the tight punch when tuned. Delivery was a day early as well! I give it 5 stars.

Very good value

I have two of these in a sealed box around 1 cubic foot each. They sound very good for the money. They hit real low and hard in my large SUV. The upper bass is a little twangy so I had to cross it over no higher than 80Hz at 18db per octive. Once I did that, they work great. Your results may and will vary. I used 12 Gauge wire soldered to the terminals and shrink tubed since they're the old style push-on type.

Good job for what i need it for

It kicks good and produce enough bass for me. I have it in my Tahoe and they sound good. just enough bass not to blow your ears off.

jbl's are great!

Jbl subs work wonderful!, these subs have a high SPL rating,which means they don't take a whole lot of power to make them pound!, initially had these subs in a sealed box, but when I switched to a vented box they reallycame alive!, i would dedefinitely suggest these subs to anyone looking for a truly effective cheap sub rated at 1000 watts.(I have them on a cheap 2000 watt pyramid amp at 4 ohms, n it truly pounds in my Pontiac)
