Mega Mids

First off I'm a die hard JL fan, Silverado currently houses XR 6.5 components in each door with a 10 inch w3 to give it a bassline. All speakers are backed by JL slash series amps to give it a very clean sound. I had a very treble Happy center stage and prominent low notes but I was missing the "fullness" to tie it all together. I installed the 3.5 jbl gto's in the center of the dash right below my deck and supplied them with power from my 300\4. Essentially after tuning I had created a 3 way component set, my sound is now incredible. Now when I crank it up it sounds like I have the whole band performing in my cup holders. So far I have no complaints, if your looking for a a set of small speakers to add some mega mid to your system I highly recommend these drivers.

Partial Review - Tweeters Only

I purchased these to change out the Bose "premium" speakers in the dash of my 2014 Altima 3.5SL. These speakers do NOT fit in the corners of the dash. I did this myself and only had so much time to finish this on a Saturday. The factory corner speakers are only tweeters. I thought these JBL speakers had the "pivot" feature that I have seen on other JBL/Infinity speakers, so I tried to twist the tweeter. It dislodged from its mounting and was just hanging by the leads! So I decided to chop off the tweeters and use them by themselves to do an even-swap with the original speakers. So this review is on the tweeters only.

Wow! Clear, accurate highs. So much more open than the Bose. I listen to acoustic guitar and classic rock. SuperTramp "School" is my test song along with Acoustic Alchemy which I have listened to for years. I know these songs, and these tweeters deliver very accurate sound. For what it's worth, I can recommend part of this speaker. I will install one of the complete speakers in the center speaker spot (it is a 9-speaker system so I had to buy an extra pair to get an additional speaker for the center.) I will post another review for that later (when I get time to install it).

Great amp.

JBL is a pace setter when it comes to electronics. From the MS8 sound processor to the JBL Charge and this amp is not an exception. I am just not sure what the gains botton does because the bass sounds clearer and crisper with the gains botton turned all the way down. I am looking to upgrade my sub from a 275 watts rms to a 500. Maybe the botton may come in handy then.
As you adjust the bottons, you will immediately hear the different effects that each adjustment gives making tuning a breeze.
I tuned mine without the use of the CD.

The following review is for a previous version (GTO328).

They're ok definitely need a crossover on the pretty clear I wasn't really able to use them though. Didn't fit in my car so my friend bought them off of me. He was satisfied with them though.

JBL GTO328

The following review is for a previous version (GTO328).

When I got these I thought they would be like some other JBL 3 1/2" I had before but I was pleasantly surprised seems JBL has lifted their game a bit these are quality units unlike the previous units these almost look like they are made in the USA but we know better don't we. I would say better quality control and a bit better management. I am currently fitting them so no idea on the final sound but so far very happy.

The clear choice

The following review is for a previous version (GTO328).

These little speakers made the world of difference. No adjustments to the head unit and simply replaced the factory dash speakers with these and it became very clear.

Nice Speaker, Clear Highs

The following review is for a previous version (GTO328).

This is the third set of speakers I have used in my 2012 Ram's dash. I really like the fact that these are 2ohm which made a difference in the overall output as I am still using the factory amplification. One note however, these speakers are quite large for a 3.5 " set. The size of the magnet and the surround can complicate install so make sure you have clearance for both. Great output for the size and a more controlled voice over my previous Polk and Kicker sets.

great sound and volume

The following review is for a previous version (GTO327).

I have these in the front dash of my '93 Concorde, and these sound great. I'm running them off my alpine CDA-7873 head unit, 60wx4 running about 25 RMS to them. they are way louder than my 5.25's so I have to adjust the fader control for them. the bass is surprisingly good too, I've owned 3.5's in the past, and to say the least the bass sucked. these are good. tweeters can be a little harsh, but thats what the treble adjust is for; currently they are on 4/7 and its more than enough. very clean sounding too is what I mostly get from people when were on the road. I definitely recommend these, JBL for life!
