Great Sub-Amp

I installed this amp to run two 10" Shallow mount subs in a 05 GMC Sierra pickup and it delivers the sound and volume I was looking for. Install was easy and was fairly easy to tune in. The adjustable bass control option is great to tune in particular songs.

Clean Durable Power

I would have to say that this is slightly under rated compared to similar amps. The quality is much better than the Kenwood amp I was using before this amp. I am using it to power a Polk 12 sub that can handle 360RMS, and this amp powers it beautifully. Upon opening the box the first thing you see is the bass control. Best feature of this amp. I love being able to turn it up and down depending on where I am or who is in the car. When taking it out, I noticed that all of the weight comes from the heat sinks, which are massive. The inputs do not require spades, just bare wire which is a plus, however it does not allow for speaker level inputs. It has a high and a low pass frequency which allows for extremely accurate tuning. The controls also have a very sturdy feel to them, and they don't move freely and have a little pull so your setting won't get changed with the bass vibrations. The lights on the top are a bit much if this is in your car, but for trunk use its just fine. Rather appealing to my tastes. Overall this unit is very solid, and extremely well built. For the money, you can't find better made, and higher quality sound without spending the extra cash. And since it is made by Harmon Kardon you know you are getting extreme quality.

Works great, but...

I really like the look of the amp, and the way it's set up (terminals and ajustment knobs), but i was never really happy with it. I think for it's size it's a bit big to be only 360w RMS and i dont think i like the A/B design. For a mono block thats supposed to be paired with a GTO 1214 sub, it should be a class D. I never really got it tuned right and the bass knob feels cheap and works cheap too. My sub thumps on startup so im guessing the "soft-start" isn't working that well. It's a great amp if your looking for a SQ setup though, and if your looking to show it off, it's flashy. For me it's hidden and i upgraded to a 500w sub, so i need a new amp. BTW this amp blew a JBL GTO1214D sub @ 2 ohms, sub rated for 360wRMS, so either i ran it too hard or this amp is under-rated. With 2 30A fuses i think it's underrated, when its going at 14v it pushes more.
