I just recently installed these 5 1/4" component speakers and the difference was noticeable immediately. Well designed and well built speakers, crossovers, and tweeters. I use these as mid-range/ upper range speakers with an amplified system pushing 75 watts rms and they have an incredible sound to them. If you know the feeling of wanting to sit in the car and actually listen to the rest of a song instead of going straight into the store then you understand how good they sound. There is some work required for installation but the reward is well worth the effort.

The Best You Can Get

Just received and install these today and they sound awesome right out of the box and they will only get better after the break in period. The mid bass is nice and deep for a 5 1/4 inch speaker and the tweeters set at -3 are not harsh at all, in fact they make me want to listen to every song in my ipod. I'm pushing 80w rms to each side which is the recommended amount of power. Bottom line is if you buy these or the 6.5 inch version, you will not regret it at all. This is the best set of speakers you can get for under $200.00, hell even $400.00. I would like to thank Sonic also for giving me a price so low that they could not post it on they're site (I had to call to get it) I won't name the price but it was LOW.

I installed these in my Grand Prix half a year ago. They sound great, the handle mid range bass, mids and treble very well. They were pretty easy to install, they pair perfectly with the Kicker KS69's I put in the back.

Would highly recommend these speakers, they will handle anything you throw them style wise.

Incredible Budget Sound Quality set

This is a true sound quality component set. The tweeter is the superstar of the set. An astonishing delivery device of high frequency bliss is the best way to describe it. The mid is no slouch either. This component set seems to be relatively forgiving in terms of installation but with any install, great install makes great sound. My front stage install location is in my kick panels. I experienced an increase in stage width and depth after switching out from my 404GTI comps to these. I also experienced a decrease in output. The only negative, and I am not sure it really is one, is that these comps don't seem to be the most sensitive. These do not seem to be built for volume as much as for those looking for a true sound quality build.
