ohh, it hits!!

the jbl p1022 is a great sub. i pick this thing up about 2 week ago built a sealed box .75 added fill. powering it with 500 rms@ 4 ohms.its in a 2006 nissan frontier ext cab an the base is bottomless. i just played shortest straw from metallica. it has heavy fast dubble bass. this sub performed perfect, hitting sooo hard . i also play all types of music like lcd sound machine, ghostland observatory, they have a mix of different sounds of base. once again the sub performed perfect. hope this helps. i will try to post it in action on utube very soon.

"I'm in love with a woofer"

I have two of the older version of this sub.
Mine are single 2 ohm voice coil and they each have a Xmax of 16mm one way.
I have the two wired in series for a 4 load. They are each in a .8 cubic foot box. I am only giving them 200 watts RMS each to break them in. OH MY GOD... Loud and clear. Deep as well. Sound quality is amazing, SPL is really good. (haven't turned them up too loud as they require 400 watts RMS each, I am breaking them in and you do more damage to a sub when you underpower them than when you overpower them.) But with them at this power level, and moving about 7mm one way, (still have twice as much to go), they are really loud... almost as good as a 10" W6. Highly recommend, get one if you want to have some really clean and decently loud bass, Two if you wanna play and show off/ hurt your hearing, Three in a ported box if you are nuts! I can't imagine how the 12's are. No cons, all pros.
