Pair of JBL P662s

The following review is for P662s, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

Purchased these speakers to replace Kia Spectra5 factory woofers, they perform very well and can handle full volume from the factory stereo.
Bass is slightly less than factory woofers but clean sound reproduction at high volume levels outweighs the difference in my opinion.
I would advise an installation kit for the KIA as these speakers will not fit the doors properly without an adapter ring, they will not clear the window track.

good product

The following review is for SA69, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

They worked well for adapting my 6x9 opening to 6.5" component speakers. Had to modify them a little because the holes on my speakers didn't match but the end result was nice and clean. Very sturdy.

Awesome Speakers!

The following review is for P662s, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

I highly recommend these component speakers for their clarity and great style. I tested them and wanted to hear what everyone was ecstatic about and boy were they right! I currently own a pair of high end focals and these speakers definitely give them competition! The clarity on these components are superb and great for the price. Great customer service as well!

A valuable installation tool

The following review is for SA68, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

Worked very well when putting Polk DXi 6.5s in my 98 Ford Ranger. Not very thick plastic, but that worked for me, since I didn't have much room behind the factory door panel. They are way more convenient than making your own adapter. You'll have to drill your own holes for the speaker mounts, and/or dremel them out a tad if your speakers need a larger cutout, but I used the measurements beforehand and they worked perfectly. Very nice.

Good replacement for factory Bose in 2014 Altima

The following review is for P662s, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

I chose these based on the need for a 2 Ohm speaker and the good reviews on this site and others. JBL and Infinity both make 2 Ohm speakers and this would allow me to use the Bose amplifier and head unit in my 2014 Altima Sedan to keep the expense down. My car is one week old so I was not too eager to rip out a lot of stuff (or spend $$$$ after just spending $$$$$ for the car). I bought 10 JBL speakers for under $400 from Sonic Electronix (2x GTO329, 2x P662s, 1x P963)

These speakers fit, they sound very musical to my ears, and they have great highs and solid "kick". I am not into a lot of bass, but I want to hear the sharp attack of a drum and I find that is a good test of the realism of speakers. I can hear snare drums and high vocals and keyboard notes clearly now.

[Note: The Bose system definitely sends midrange and high frequencies to the doors. I didn't know for sure because Bose does things differently than other audio manufacturers. They make cheap speakers sound as good as possible, but that is still far short of musical.]

I also changed out the corner dash speakers (tweeters) with the tweeters from a pair of JBL GTO329's. The GTO329 does not fit into the corners of the dash - too deep. So in desperation I clipped the tweeters off and made my own mounting plate to put them in. The Bose tweeters I pulled out were mounted on a square plate and was less than 1 inch deep from the underside of the plate down. I also disconnected the middle dash speaker.

This evaluation is based on the sound produced by both the P662's and the tweeters from the GTO329. I would buy both again. I listen to Classic Rock, Christian Rock, and Acoustic Guitar. SuperTramp, Styx, Pink Floyd, Acoustic Alchemy, Third Day, Chris Tomlin, Selah.

Better then nothing

The following review is for SA69, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

this item is exactly as mention and shown. It worked great the only con to this product is the fact when you have to modify it i.e cut out the tweeter part it is pretty hard to do without the right tools. also all the holes dont line up so instead of mounting using all 4 bolts in the corners i had to choose 2 so its not fully attached but it still works.

JBL P662s Speakers

The following review is for P662s, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

I installed these on my Harley Street Glide. They totally ROCK. Big time improvement over the stock speakers. Great sound at high volume with very little distortion. I'm partial to JBL products. I own a lot of JBL speakers and they all sound great. I read ALOT of reviews before I purchased these. There was really no negative reviews on these speakers. Now I know why.

Great Speakers

The following review is for P662s, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

Speakers fit perfectly (with 6.5 adaptors, Front/Rear) in my 2002 E46 M3!
Still have the stock amp, so i'm not pushing them to their limits, but they sound probably 17 million times better than stock. also I'm not able to vouch for the High/Tweeter as I am using the stock amp.

note: if you are using the stock amp in an E46 BMW it will only be sending low sounds to this speaker, therefore the tweeter will not be used. Replace all your speakers at once to save some headache.

SA69

The following review is for SA69, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

Solid and clean, perfect if using for 5.25 otherwise have to Cut\saw the opening. I believe these should be sold in separate sizes for use of 5.12 or 6.5 as they are not 1 size fits all. Gave ease of use a 1 for this reason and I needed 6.5 and had to saw the circles bigger.

Sufficient, Not Efficient

The following review is for SA69, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

Exactly sized to match, but the tweeter space is extremely difficult to utilize. I am unimpressed by the lack of instruction as to make that piece come out without the use of a drill &/or dremel which causes innaccurate shapes for the tweeter holes. It cannot be cut out, I am extremely strong, but cuts in those notches are innaccurate and too shallow to be effective. The piece (where a separate tweeter would be) is necessary in the case of coaxial speakers, but needs to be easily removable for the installation of separate speakers. Waste of money for this brand of adapter.

Excellent Speakers

The following review is for P662s, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

I've owned JBL Power Series speakers before, so the excellent performance of these P662s speakers didn't surprise me. The textile tweeters are an improvement over JBL's old titanium tweeters and play with the same clarity, but without the ear fatigue caused by the old metal tweeters. These tweeters are very smooth-sounding and the reproduction is lifelike.

The bass is very deep for a 6 1/2" speaker, well-defined, and doesn't muddy the treble of the tweeters thanks to the external crossovers. These speakers are a distinct improvement over my old Infinity Reference 6 1/2" speakers. Worth every penny.

not too bad

The following review is for SA69, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

Not too bad, but installing 6.5"" speakers was a challenge. There are no provisions to make the hole bigger, so I had to hack away at it with my dremel, shaving away a little bit at a time until the speakers fit.

The plastic is nice and thick though, which is great once they are installed, but also make cutting that much more difficult.

Good speakers with great mid bass.

The following review is for P662s, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

I might be a bit biased because of my set up. Pioneer deck into pioneer 2 channel with 2 sets of these in each door in custom mdf door panels. Each pair is wired series @ 4 ohms and is getting 150w rms. Even without a HPF on, these will get loud and clean. There's enough midbass that I can feel the drums in the floor of the car with my set up. (no subs yet, rebuilding system after going 2 years without)

I will say these speakers were a little dark sounding on the first listen but that's a plus because when you really crank it there are no harsh frequency spikes to be heard. Piano and acoustic guitar sound really good on these in particular.

JBL P662S

I have these for my rear fill in a complete JBL system needed something shallow to fit under my rear deck pannel. They are hooked up to the 804ez amp and they scream. they are over powered to say the least....i have them crossed over high and the fade is to the front otherwise you would only hear these!lol, but they do what i want them to and they sound good.

These adapters are not usable for most speakers

The following review is for SA68, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

I was trying to use these to install speakers in my 09' Ford Escape. The mounting holes are correct but the speaker cutout is not big enough. Not sure what they used to model the design but not usable for most speakers. The description says they are for 6 1/2" but hole size is undersized. I ended up making my own using 1/2" plywood at a fraction of the cost.

Fit my 2003 Ram 1500 front doors perfectly. One issue I had with the Alpine component speakers I installed was that the 1.75'' dome tweeter would not fit next to the 6.5'' mid. I had to mount them in the door sail. Quality product made from quality material. Would recommend to a friend.

JBL P662 Speaker

The following review is for P662s, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

I bought this speaker as a replacement for a blown one in my van. The old one just blew. Their was more work in removing the panel that hooking up the speaker. Only needed one and will use the other when the time comes. Overall, a positive experience with a good product. The dealer replacement cost was simply too expensive. The price I paid was fair and reasonable.

awesome value!!!

The following review is for P662s, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

These speakers are very high quality. If you look in stores you'll see these for 130-150 dollars!! Now these are the shallow version not requiring as much power as the P662. I have them running off my kenwood deck and they're very loud with some decent bass. Off course better with an amp. The sensitivity is up there and I would say they're just as good as the Kappas if not better. They also have a built in crossover.

Good

The following review is for SA68, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

These fit my 6.5 inch coaxials in the cutout like they said. I did have to carefully drill new holes where this particular speaker needed to be mounted and it turned out well. There may be some 6.5's that won't fit in the opening, but mine did. They fit the 6x8 opening in the truck perfectly and the screw openings were right on the money.

Great Speakers No Regrets

The following review is for P662s, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

I bought these after eliminating other car speakers on Sonic by what I was looking for: 6.5", Shallow mount (My 1989 civic sedan had very little space in the front doors), 2 ohms (to get more power out of my 4 channel amp). These and the JBL GTO were left and I picked these. After hooking them up to my Punch P4004, These things were LOUD and very clear. I had these for a while with no subwoofer, kept them on a HP filter of 100hz and I was still turning heads and I listen to Hip Hop which is often bass heavy. Not to mention they are pretty inexpensive when compared to their Infinity Brand cousins. I'm sure there are better speakers that handle more power but if that's what you are looking for, you wouldn't have checked out this speaker. You will be happy with these and they perform awesome for the price.
TIP: If possible, always try to amp your speakers. You often get better sound quality and High pass crossovers help greatly with the sound out of your speakers, not to mention their ability to play clearly at higher volume levels.

Good speaker adapter

The following review is for SA68, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

I use this with 5.25 inch speakers in the rear of a 1996 Ford F150. It holds the speakers in 6x8 hole very well, but just make sure you use larger screws. To completely seal the speakers, I'd recommend using Dynamat or a similar product to cover the adapter. I also used this with Pioneer 6.5s.

Decent

The following review is for P662s, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

I have two sets of these and a set of kenwood 4x10s in my Tahoe on an SSL 1000 watt 4 channel amp in my Tahoe. I don't think I'm getting the best out of these speakers because of the amp I have, but all in all I like these. I'm not sure how def I am these days cause I seem to have a problem of chronic malcontent... Never good enough or I want more... So if you're used to super crazy loud these may not be for you but nonetheless they are loud and clear. They also have a 0 to -16db switch on each tweeter... I haven't really messed with them... But they are there..

The following review is for SA69, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

With speakers such as 6x9's the sound quality is drastically decreased when the midbass speakers are amplified because of distortion. With circular speakers the SQ is increased due to less or no distortion. I greatly sugguest this product for anyone buying aftermarket speakers.

May Not Fit

The following review is for SA68, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

I bought these to replace a 6x8" speaker with a 6.5" speaker. Unfortunately this bracket is not sufficient, at least for the speaker I chose (JL Audio TR650-CSi). The cut out on the Scosche is a 5" diameter. However, the speaker requires a 5 5/8" diameter. You can modify the bracket by using a dremel or other type of tool to widen the cut-out diameter. However, this would only leave me with about 1/16" on either end after enlarging it enough for the speaker...might as well cut it in half at that point (total height is 5 11/16" on the bracket).

It seems like it would be perfect for a 5 1/4" speaker some 6.5" speakers as well. You just need to make sure it is not too small, otherwise you are better off making your own bracket. All that being said, it is well made and I would recommend it under the proper circumstances.

Did not fit my 6.5in speakers

The following review is for SA68, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

Ordered a set to go along w/ my 6.5in speakers. The speakers were too large for the hole on the SA68. I had to trace the diameter of the speaker on to the SA68s and use a dremel to cut out the difference

They get it done

The following review is for SA69, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

These adapter plates do the job.

When I received them the holes for the screws to hold the speaker were too close to the body of the speaker. A small drill bit and some screws later i just made my own mounting holes.

I used a 2 inch hole-saw to cut out the tweeter holes. and mounted the component polk audio db6501.

Worked perfeclty, the rim of the speaker overlaps slightly holding the tweeter bucket in place. talk about lucky.

If you want to go to a better sounding more common 6.5 from a 6x9 these will do. I recommend having a file, drill, and hole-saw.

Does the job

The following review is for SA68, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

What can I say, if you need an adapter to fit your 5 1/4 speakers into a 6x8 opening this is the perfect thing. However, it is hard to fit 6 1/2 inch speakers and requires drilling new holes

Nice and sturdy

The following review is for SA69, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

If you don't have the proper tools, it can be a challenge to widen the opening to install a 6 1/2 speaker. But totally doable. Nice secure mount.

Easy

The following review is for SA69, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

Was easier than making my own on the lathe out of particle board. Thick strong plastic. Perfect fit. Only had to trim for the larger 6 1/2 spkr. Which is expected when it also fits 5.25 also.

Make it easy on yourself.

The following review is for SA69, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

These adapters are simple to install and save a lot of time. Had they not been offered with my purchase i would have made my own. That's a pain in the ass that won't be happening again. The price is very reasonable and thanks for suggesting these.

Cheaper then anywhere

The following review is for SA69, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

If you have 51/2 it will bolt right up, but if you got 61/2 or 63/4 speakers plan on doing some cutting to make it fit. I knew this when I ordered and have the tools so it's not a problem for me I just needed a cheap option so I didn't have to custom build a mounting bracket for my 2013 Dodge Avenger that came with little 6x9's in all 4 corners. Can't wait to hear my JL audio C2 highs and mids.

Do your research

The following review is for SA68, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

These are very good adapters, however i had to modify them for my JL C650 speakers. I didnt do enough research to make sure i was getting the correct ones. But even modifying them was a breeze and they worked great and were a perfect fit in my truck.

Will not work on 6 1/2 inch speakers

The following review is for SA68, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

These adaptors are recommended to mount round 6 1/2 inch speakers in oval 6x8 mounts(2013 f150) . The holes for speakets are not big enough and there is not enough material to cut out and make work. Had to return for credit.

JBL P662s sweet speakers !!!!

The following review is for P662s, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

I have these in my Xterra for about a month now. they are hooked up to a Rockford Fosgate Power T400-4 4-channel car amp at 2 ohms i think it is about 100 per chan . They sound very loud and clear with plenty of mid bass. i have them crossed over at 120, the 12 inch sub takes over from there. Really nice sounding and Sonic is great to deal with!!!!!
PS
the speakers come with all brackets and screws you need for a nice install. someone complained about no speaker wire. come on guys stop being so cheep and get some good wire to use with these great speakers!!! some people HA HA HA!!!

IF YOU CAN FIND BETTER SPEAKERS, BUY THEM!

The following review is for P662s, which is a part of the bundle you are viewing.

Every review I read about these speakers is how great they are, but you can't get much bass out of them. Wrong! I've got a Kenwood head unit pushing 22 watts rms and I set the EQ for the bass at +5, kept the mid-range flat, set the treble at +4 and set the speakers at +3db. These speakers rock! You can actually hear the difference between a bass drum and a bass guitar. Booming bass is noise, and noise ain't music! I listen to all types of music and it sounds exactly like it's supposed to sound. These are some of the best speakers I have ever owned and I really don't see the need for an amp. Great product from a great seller at a great price. What else could you want?
