Can't go wrong with JBL S2-1224SS

Price is very fair for what you get. A well-built ported box with slipstream port and a subwoofer with plenty of 'juice'. I'm pretty new to car audio upgrades so having the sub already in an enclosure that has been built to spec by Harman (JBL) is reassuring. Other deciding factors included 2-4 ohm switch on the outside of the enclosure, good form factor, and nice black/orange aesthetics.

I love this sub / box combo. It is built correctly and fills my car with beautiful, powerful, clear bass. Harman builds great products. If you research the specs of the sub, it has very low inductance. That means that it will blend well with your other speakers. The slipstream port is great and I do not hear any port noise. Can change the impedance from 2ohms to 4ohms at the flip of a switch on the outside of the box, which is an excellent feature. It's a bit expensive but well worth it. This generation of JBL boxes are better than the last generation. Better frequency response and features.

Extremely accurate and musical. Sounds like a sealed box, but the bass is loud like a ported box.

Nice tight low bass.

Amazing bass for the price. Definitely lower then their 12" Basspro powered subwoofer. I would highly recommend it. I'm running it at 4 ohm load. Cant imagine what it would sound like with even more power.

Jbl s2-1224ss

This thing slams.. Very small box but def loud output. Almost too much bass for my car. Love the fact that you can run either 2 or 4 ohms. Very well made box. Would buy again without hesitation.
