Have this amp connected to my Dodge factory head unit using high level output connected to 2- 12inch pioneer champion series at 300 RMS 4ohm. unbelievable quality and sound. Once you tune your subwoofer and amp to specs you wil have no problem. more that enough bass needed, Great amp!!

Usable

The wiring has done me right so far but the only thing I don't like is the speaker wires. You have to carefully split it so the wire doesn't show. Other than that minor thing everything was great and a great value!

The perfect amp for my needs!

This little amp puts out just the right amount of power for my system. I mounted it behind an internal side panel so that it would be out of sight, and it fit perfectly. I haven't had any problems with it what so ever, and it really brought good sounding base to my sub woofer. I would definitely recommend this amp to my friends.

the price is right for this setup. the ground wire and the power wire are to big for my amp but i made them fit. better to have to much than not enough so if i upgrade to a larger amp it will be fine.

My buddy had 1 of these running to pioneer 10s and it sound great Hit pretty hard great amp over all.Probably does a little more then rated 550/600 maybe.Very clean looking amp sturdy feeling and great clean sound

I run 2 12inch audiobahn exursions on this amp and it pushes them very well. The size is perfect not to big and fits right unerneath the seat or small space. The best part is it stays pretty cool even after running most the day.

Big power with little space

Not a bad little amp. I run 2 kenwood 12's @ 2 ohm with this amp and I love every minute of it. I am sometimes tempted to turn the gain down but it runs so clean I never do.

I like the wire kit I got with my amp it seems to be holding up goo it handles the power of the amp I got but I would of gave it 5 stars all the way around but I wold of like the ground at less 2 more feet for good use but over all its a nice kit

Great little sub

I had one of these in a small sealed wedge box in a grand cherokee powered by a JL 100/2 amp bridged of course and it was great. Break in was short maybe 10 hours of play time and a bit of tweaking. Some settings every one thought i had a 12.

amazing sq!

I bought it for a sq build for decent kick drum thump, and it exceeded my expectations greatly. i was downsizing my build from two PSI 15's on 2kwrms, to this on ~320wrms am i'm not dissapointed! i built a box to jl spec but tuned to 28hz for a flatter, sq response curve. this dude dominates low lows and the xmax is ridiculous and no distortion! it is a very musical sub. the only downside is that i wish it had alittle tighter bass, but it could be the box, but my 6x9's in the doors handle that decently. buy this sub!

Nice sub

I just bought this from a shop around me. It is in a sealed box behind my seat in a regular cab s10. The bass boost on my amp is on zero and this speaker is still loud. I will go back and buy another and hopefully port the boxes and blow my doors off. I highly recommend

Crazy the Size vs the Power

This mrv m 500 on a alpine type r can get so loud that my nose vibrates and causes me to sneeze. Thats no lie. and on top of that its cool to touch after a long session of high volume and what not. When looking at the size of it, it looks like a joke, but it performs as good at amps that are 10 times the size. couldnt be more happier with the purchase.

The eyelet connectors are flimsy and the speaker wire is hard to separate. When it does it exposes some of the copper. Otherwise the kit is ok.

Amazing Bass (and grace...lol)

Wow! This replaced a 13 yr old pioneer amp (that actually sounded really good) that was rated at only 50w less power than the M500. BUT it seems like this Alpine has twice the power! Much fuller sounding low end and kicks my JL 12w0 hard! Instant smiles. I am pleased, to say the least. Get one!

Oddly good for the price

I have always found JL Audio to make my favorite speakers, but man, I cannot believe how good a speaker this inexpensive sounds. I used to have 2 (12") Infinity Kappa Perfects in an old car that sounded incredible, they also cost me $300 apiece. I am running two of these in my car and they sound almost as good as speakers that cost more than twice as much. The bass is deep and tight with moderate power. I have them ran in parallel so that they operate at 2 ohms and receive the full 600 watts my amp is capable of. I am truly impressed by these speakers relative to the cost. Whether you have been into car audio for most of your life or just got into it, these subs are one of the best affordable options on the market.

Good product , but not enough speaker wire to wire two front door speakers in a scion xb. I guess it would have been enough if I had run one of them with the power wire instead of running on the other side of car, but everybody knows that's a bad idea due to engine noise. You would think they would take that into consideration. Also not a big fan of the square and round speaker wire very hard to separate and strip without exposing bare wire.

Bought this kit for my 650 watt rms amp. Not true awg 4 guage, but close.jacket is pretty thick.all wires flexible. Reached under the back seat of my 2008 silverado crew cab. But not a whole lot of slack if your going to a trunk. Fuse is ok... ive seen better and worse. Bottom line, if your on a budget and running 800 rms or under, this will work fine.

Great sound for a "shallow" sub

I had always wanted a JL sub because of the great reviews I've read. I am so glad I stuck to my guts and got the W0. I know is rated at 300 watts rms, but do not let this fool you, this sub hits HARD! I paired this sub (single 10 inch) with a Boss mono amp running 300 Watts @ 4 ohms in a ported pro box for my 05 ram 1500 regular cab and couldn't not be happier. I did the big 3 upgrade because of the amp needing constant 14 volts in order to keep up. All that aside, this sub looks and sounds AMAZING!!! JL does an outstanding job with the design and quality of their products. I would highly recommend this sub to anyone wanting to add some "entry level" bass to their sound system. You will not be disappointed.

Great woofer for a budget build

Great woofer if you are building a System on a budget. Requires only 75-150 watts RMS for optimal performance. I have my gain set right around 125-130 rms at the amp. I control either more or less through rms power with a 7 band EQ. I verified it all through measuring my volts at the amp speaker terminal, with a 50 HZ test tune at max non distorted signal from my head unit with the help of math of course. Sounds great at lows and highs. I was very surprised at the low end response of the woofer. Not an overpowering bass sound, mixes very well with my mids and highs but at the same time you can hear the thump from a short distance. I am referencing this review from a prospective in a Ext. Cab pickup in a forward firing sealed 0.77 Cubic Ft. box with polymer fill. Woofer requirements are .065 for a sealed box.

SUPER CLEAN BASS - VERY IMPRESSED

I bought two of these JL 10” subs to replace two Rockford Fosgate R2D2’s which I wasn’t all that impressed with after having them for just few short weeks.
The sound quality of these JL subs is absolutely amazing. They hit fairly low for a 10” sub and especially in this power and price range.
Unfortunately, I have no choice but to go with a sealed enclosure. So I have no idea how much better they would sound in a ported and tuned enclosure.
I have them paired with a Rockford Fosgate R500X1D amp, driven at 2ohms. The RMS of the amp is 637 watts (birth sheet)

These JL’s, like most 10” subs in this power and price range don’t produce a lot of SPL or the kind of low end bass that you hear coming down the road a block before you show up but I don’t know that I have ever heard a cleaner sounding bass from a 10” sub in this price range.
I have heard a lot of subs that sound good with one certain type of music but these subs honestly sound amazingly clean with every genre I’ve sampled with them,

Cons:
I have nothing bad to say about these subs but I will add that it would have been nice to have a set of mounting security screws like other manufacturers include with their subs.

Overall:
I would HIGHLY recommend these subs to anyone looking for clean bass with nearly any kind of music you throw at em.

Good Evening,
This alpine amplifier puts out some serious bass at 530* watts RMS. MY Rockford Fosgate subwoofer handles the power without issues.

I have a kicker 1200 and at 600 watt @ 4 ohms, (never tried the 1200 watt at 2 ohms option) I hear tremendous more clarity in my music overall without sacrificing ANY bass. On my Kicker I'm running a single NVX 15" which I love.

I have a compact so I had to choose a lower watt setup. I wanna try a rockford fosgate and jl audio amp sometime. But overall if I had to choose a good amp I would go with kicker because my music sounded way better.

Great wires!!

After reading reviews and most importantly watching the video Sonic posted with this product, I decided to give it a shot for my Cerwin Vega VPAS-12. The wires are exactly as described, true 4 gauge, not all insulation like the other brands. The fuse block is solid and easy to set up. I was worried it may not fit the VPAS connectors since they mention 8 gauge, but it works and it is holding in no problem.

The only thing I did change was the actual battery and ground terminals, they seemed weak, so i chose something stronger and all is well.

I have 2 of these in separate Atrend BBOX sealed boxes powered by a MTX Jackhammer 600 watt rms amp. The boxes are filled with polyfil and are just the right airspace. They absolutely pound, but also give a clean and tight bass. If you have limited airspace of just want a smaller sub these are awesome. Also I had just one hooked up for awhile and it outplayed a Kicker 12" sub. They're awesome and worth the money.

Reliable, Powerful, Compact

I have had the Alpine MRV-500 for over 5 years now, never replaced it. I have typically used it in 4ohms. From one car to another, blowing up a couple subwoofers in the process I am impressed with the quality. I do have an audio control epicenter hooked up to it and it makes bass even more crisp.
I've had mostly kicker subs ranging from 300 to 100watts. I've also used Skar Audio 1,200 watt, Infinity 1000 watt, Precision Power 800 watt. They worked very well in a vented box. I would go on a limb and assume it was a 1.75 cu ft but not 100% sure. Since a very young age I have trusted Alpine products and by far I am very impressed.

Excellent low power subwoofer

Im running 3 JL W0v3 10s in a 1.8 cuft sealed enclosure powered by a NVX JAD1200.1 amp. Each subwoofer is receiving about 283 watts rms. These sound great for what they are. These low end JL W0 will sound better than most other brands out there. There's a lots of subs that will play louder but as you listen to music you will appreciate what JL Audio subwoofers sound like.

This is the actually 3rd pair of JL Audio W0 Series subs I have ever owned over course of 19 years. My first set of quality subs initially purchased back in mid 90s and have been true believer and fan of every product JL audio puts on market. From subs Amps and everything down to quality wiring. You get what you pay for plus more with these subs. Also note they are able to handle more power than rated at. Would def reccomend these subs for anyone looking for entry level QUALITY low end bass at amazing price. They sound impressive when used in ported quality box tuned at 32 Hertz as recommended by JL suggest specs . Always have been of JL Audio and will def continue to be for years to come. JL Audio is known for making quality products that stand the test of time, so you're sure to get years of clean sound from this sub. I have a couple of JL Audio 8" subs I purchased in the 90's that are still in service today.

This is JL Audio's entry level, basic 4-Ohm, single voice coil sub. Paired with a quality amp (150W-300W RMS), and installed in an appropriate enclosure, it's sure to satisfy anyone looking to add clean, powerful bass to there system.
I have a single 10W0v3-4 installed in a small, custom made sealed enclosure, under the back seat for my crew cab truck. I use JL Audio C2-650 components for mids/high's, and power it all with a Zapco ST-5XII 5-channel amp, and I couldn't be happier. My system sounds crystal clear and can achieve uncomfortably loud volumes.
This sub blends end seamlessly; it hits clean and tight when the music calls for it, and never sounds like artificially enhance BASS.
I took a star away, because it's probably the most expensive option when compared to other brand, 4-Ohm single voice coil subs with similar RMS rating.

Little amp really packs a punch!

Alpine packed a lot of power into this little package. I'm just running one 10" woofer in my wife's Jeep, to add a little bass to her system. And I have to keep the settings pretty low due to the amount of power this thing produces. Not to mention it's compact size that allows it to fit nicely in areas with very limited space. I also like that it allows you to simply add an Alpine "remote bass knob" ! Now she can adjust her bass with 1 simple turn of a knob on the dash. Anyway, for anyone looking for a great little amp (that packs a great punch), I'd HIGHLY consider purchasing this Alpine MRV-M500. And it won't break your bank either, as it's very reasonably priced! GREAT BANG FOR YOUR BUCK! (no pun intended).

More than expected

I bought an Infinity 1060 about a year ago but never installed it in my daughters car. Finally, I got to it and the speaker was bad from the factory and out of warranty (that figures). Called Sonic and nothing could be done but ask and you shall receive. I asked about this sub and got a great deal. Put this in a tiny sealed box and its awesome. My daughter loves it because it is super tight bass that is quick and effortless. I am powering this off a 4 channel alpine amp in mono, so its seeing about 175w. Sounds incredible. As a matter of fact I bought another one for the 2000 4 runner. My son wants 2-4 for his car. These subs are amazing from Iron Maiden - Dire Straits - to Songs on the Contemporary Christian stations. I was going to spend more than $500 per sub in my runner but I don't have to now. These sound good with dub step and heavy rumbly bass but you will need 2-4 to not over work them. Tiny box with large sound. BTW, I don't care if anyone outside the car hears or feels it but they can and do when my sons in the runner. Oh, well.

Mind Blowing Deep Bass

I was running 2 kicker comp 10's in a ported box but needed to save some space in my trunk. I replaced them with one 10" JL W0 in a .7 cu ft sealed box. the depth of bass from this one 10" speaker is unbelievable! I thought of getting a designated Shallow mount woofer because I need the space in my trunk but these only needed .65 cu ft box. It's not shallow per se but I have almost my entire trunk back and enough dB's to wake up a BASSHEAD!

Excellent Amp Small Foot Print

This amp has been Incredible. It replaced my Rockford Fosgate Prime amp that I thought went bad. It stays cool, puts out rated power and sounds great doing so. Usually it's hard to tell with sub frequencies but I is a great amp. Very happy with my purchase!

Alpine MRV-M500

The name alpine speaks for itself but this really is a sleek, powerful amp that delivers crisp power. I had a really tight spot I wanted to put an amp to keep it low profile,and this fit perfectly.

I have had a history with JL subs since back in 1999 when I switched from a Rockford Fosgate XLC to I think it was a 10w0. Back then the JL took way more than the XLC would without breaking, and always sounded great.

Hit Banger

This little unit does the job. I was pushing a Rockford Fosgate R2D4 10. in a ported box. Unfortunately, the amp gave out on me. The solid Blue square started blinking blue. I looked in the troubleshooting and there was no indication of the blue blinking light. I unplugged and re-plugged the 12+, GRND, REM. Then the blue went to red. I swapped out the Alpine amp with another amp laying around (DX 500.1) and everything works well.

So far so good! AMP installed into 2016 Jeep Wrangler JKY Sahara

The installation for this was easy. I purchased the ILX-W650 Alpine Head unit and paired that with SBV-10-WRA Subwoofer. The sub is plugged into the Amp, the Amp wiring to the Battery, Ground, RCA to the Headunit - painless.

Adjusting settings on the Amp were straightforward. The sleek design allows me to place this under my driver's seat without drawing attention to it.

For the size/power/price combo of this amp, how can you go wrong?!
It’s fairly clean sound, doesn’t get 1000 degrees, has plenty of power, and fits in smaller places like under seats. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a premium monster amp, so don’t go thinking you’re going to put this on a pair of 500w 12’s unless you’re just wanting to blow something up. I’ve got this on a JL 10TW1 and it sounds phenomenal.

Good quality but...

For my taste this is a good beginner sub. My girlfriend laughed at the box it came in and called it cute. It is definitely more of an SQ sub than an SPL sub. If you're looking for something to fill out bottom end then this is the sub for you. It made plenty of bass in the trunk of my Corolla but it was maxed and left me wanting some headroom.

Everything I Needed

Used this kit to run an amp to the trunk of a 2015 Kia Optima. Ended up trimming about 1½ft of excess to help clean up the install. Everything seems to be good quality. Ran the power wire down the driver's side and RCA & amp signal wire down the passenger side to avoid any interference. Plenty of length of everything for a full size sedan.
