Great sub, not so great encloser.

First of all this is a great sub but I’m only giving it 3 stars for the following reasons. Although the sound quality is great the output isn’t what I expected. I previously had a 12w7 connected to a 1000/1v2 and was use to that kind of output. I wasn’t expecting the same output from this sub but was expecting more than what it is, especially for the price. Second, if putting this in a trunk and you have the enclosure firing sideways like it’s supposed to the spl is even worse. If you fire it backwards then it sounds 10 times better but because of the way the box is made it looks awkward that way and takes up to much space. It hits pretty low but isn’t as accurate as a 12w7. In my opinion this sub is for someone that just wants clean good sounding bass without it being too loud but if you enjoy sql with spl then you might want to go ahead and pay the extra money for a w7.

Great sound at low amount of wattage being used

Sounds good at higher volumes as well as low, the ported box also looks nice with the jl audio name on it. The box is tuned from the manufacturer for the speaker nice touch A+ISH..... But I want to get another one. I think 2 would sound nicer.

best quality bass ever!!!!

JL Audio is the best there is!!!!.... just to start lol. I have a high output 12w6v3 with a slash 600/1v3 and all I can say is WOW!! The bass is crisp & clean. The lows are insane!!!! It hits every note no matter how fast it is(HEAVY METAL)!! Now I've listened to a lot of audio system in my day and JL Audio is the best quality out of all the other brands #1. But if u don't want to spend the BIG money on JL then get some kickers but EVERYTHING ELSE IS JUNK!!!!!!
