The way bass is supposed to sound !!

If you are a TRUE bass lover and want to hear and feel bottom end the way it was meant to be, JL'S double 8's is all you need ! And yes, they do handle 500 watts rms with the greatest of ease !! If your looking to annoy the neighborhood with prosessed electronic bottom end, get an 18, these arent for you. progressive, metal, jazz fusion lovers ??? You are gonna love this sub !! PS. I have this sub in the back of a suburban running with 4 R-series Alpine components.

skeptical but a believer now!

I don't normally review products but after hearing this profuct, I had to. Hears the meat and potatoes of my opinion. This product is very well built, looks good, and sounds even better. . I own a ford platinum super crew and I placed the sub box under the backseat. I have it paired with a fosgate p1000x1bd at 2 ohms and it absolutely slams for a pair of 8 ' s! Don't get me wrong, these 8 ' s aren't going to beat the block down but they will definitely fill the cab of your truck with plenty of bass as long as you feed these babies plenty of power. The only complaint I have is that they do occasionally have problems hitting the really low bass notes but you gotta remember that these are 8 ' s. They aren't 10's or 12's but regardless, I'm very impressed. In my younger days I owned plenty of other systems but for a family man with limited space, this setup is perfect. If you own a super crew ford and want some clean, precise, and powerful sound then look no further. You will definitely be impressed.

Nice setup

I really like that JL offers such a potent package at such a good price. W3s are a really good speaker. It took about two weeks for them to break in and after that I was really impressed.

Awesome little set of sbs

Bought these to get me by until I could build my own box... Wow was I impressed. These two 8s crank out the base. I had pretty low expectations, but these really perform and will probably stay for a while...

To my fellow F150 owners...

We all know its really hard to find anything that fits under the rear seat. This thing fits PERFECTLY and absolutely slams for 2 8"s. Wow, very impressed. Anyone who says differently doesn't know how to tune an amp/processor. Buy this thing, it's worth every penny.

AMAZING

I did all the research and was limited to teh space I had in my truck. I wanted high quality with outstanding sound. I hooked this sub enclosure up to my JL Audio JX500/1D amp with the remote and it absolutely blew me away. I have a 2012 F-150 XLT and this fits easily under the rear seat and produces bass like there are 12" in the bed. I can't believe this enclosure is so load, clear, and flexible throughout all types of music. If you have an F-150 and are thinking about anything other than this setup you will be disappointed if you don't go with this setup. You get what you pay for and by spending a little more you will definitely tell the difference. Highly recommend.

It's for real...

Was torn between this unit and the single 8 version of it. With this carrying a 2 ohm load and the single having a 4 ohm load this made more sense for my amp. Fits perfect in a small space under the seat and offers very clean, accurate sound. Way more bass than you'd expect to get from two 8's. Highly recommend this thing. Well done JL.

So far so good

Had a 12" in my Porsche, and it just was too big. This box and speakers fit perfect. Getting up in age, but still like my bass. This is just enough. Hoping for a long speaker life, like my old 12".
