Great speakers, excellent price!

I looked around at other shallow mount speakers and this was the best price. More like "best bang for the buck" sort of thing. The build quality is excellent. The speaker is not as large as the pioneers I pulled out of the civic but.. the sound is much more accurate, clear, precise. They do have a coated cloth surround, so they're not going to last forever, but for the price, that's fine with me! The old pioneers I took out of the civic were "muddy" sounding even when they were new, lacking midrange and treble clarity. They had bass but no presence or clarity. These JVC's are much more accurate and clear, they don't have a lot of bass, probably because the magnet is smaller. I've also noticed as the speakers have "broken-in" they've become louder with the same volume level. I've seen that happen before with speakers. However, if you're looking for a clean, crisp sound from a shallow mount speaker this is the clear winner! There is mid bass from this speaker, just don't expect subwoofer type bass out of this shallow mount speaker. And the price is the best I've seen out there online. I had a friend who ordered from Sonic, and he liked them so I tried them. It was packed well with packing popcorn all around, packed well!

Excellent Door Speakers, Excellent Price, Fast Shipping!

These sound really good, way, way better than the muddy old dry rotted OEM Honda speakers that came out of my Civic that never really sounded all too good in the first place and now sound like a pack of angry frogs in a lawnmower due to age!
The highs are clean, clear and crisp, mids are very full, warm and clear. Vocals, keyboards and guitars all sound really good, these also give a decent amount of low-end bass that fill the sound spectrum quite well, which is unheard of from most door speakers I've tested or owned, Especially for a pair that unbelievably cost me less than $25!
These can also handle a good amount of volume without distorting!
I was a bit concerned about how these would sound in the highs and midrange since these are 2-way and not 3-way units and were dirt cheap, I thought, sure I'll get what I paid for-junk, but man, I am very impressed and real glad that I chose these JVC's based mostly upon their stated freq. response range, dB output and RMS capability
They sound much better than I ever anticipated and work really well with the new BOSS head unit and new Boss rear 4-way 6x9's that I've also installed. (I didn't get a pair of Boss door speakers to match the rest of the Boss brand setup because Boss doesn't tell you their Freq. Resp. on most of their 6-1/2" speakers and I wanted a pair that could give out some low end bass below 60hz!)
These go down much lower than 60hz and sound a lot better than a far more expensive pair of Kicker brand door speakers I recently installed in my Mrs Buick! I might take the Kickers out and get a second pair of these for her ride!
These are also NOT an ugly designed pair of speakers by themselves, unlike some other pairs that I looked at first that made me think "what were they thinking when they designed these?"
I don't really like the look of the plastic grilles that came with these, and thankfully I don't have to use them, they aren't mesh style "Grilles" and are just the open faced plastic "spider" style rings/covers, Although, the speakers themselves will never be visible behind the OEM door panels built-in mesh grilles in my Civic anyway, but I just thought I would mention it.
FYI!, I do NOT work for these folks at Sonic nor do I personally know anyone here, so with that said;
The price on these was a bit lower here than anywhere else that I could find that sells these online and the shipping fee here was also much cheaper than everyone else online too! And the good folks at SonicElectronix really ARE pros with very fast, hassle-free order processing, handling and shipping out items! These got to me in less than a week (3 or 4 days) and they were packed really well, which is awesome in MY book, and why I have made a few purchases from here over the years for all of my vehicles and for some friends and family members vehicles as well, and why I will continue to buy whatever I need or want for my vehicles to sound great from here!
If you bought your stuff from anywhere else you most likely got ripped off!. I learned the hard way to look here first after getting the shaft from some "scummy" online sellers out there! Always check prices here at Sonic first, I do! :)
And another great thing with shopping HERE is that whenever you look at any product page, say head-units for example, if there is anything else that you would need or should have to either hook it up or install it properly they will show you exactly what you might need on the page of the item your looking at, and it is always a real related item and not just some unrelated junk they want to get rid of like most sites do! I don't know about you, but hat really grinds MY gears when a site shows some totally unrelated items under a "related items" banner!!

Replacement speakers

I bought these speakers to replace the rear speakers that are blown in my 2001 honda cr-v. I have the speakers running off the factor radio. The speakers are very clear but not much bass, that's to be expected when your're running after market speakers on a factory radio that's only putting out 4 or 5 watts. Overall for the price these speakers are good they would sound better with an small amp on them. I would definitely recommend these speakers as replacements.

Clean sound

Not wanting to spend a ton of money to replace the speakers in my old truck these were a perfect choice. I chose to replace all 4 speakers to restore OEM quality sound. They produce clear crisp sound at a reasonable volume which is all that I was looking for.

Less bass than factory, but still good for rear speakers

The good: its a pair of name brand speakers for dirt cheap. The bad: they sound like dirt cheap speakers. Installed these in the rear cab of a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado without much issue, just needed tin snips to cut a longer slot into the 6-3/4" mounting ears. These don't handle bass as well as the stock speakers did, which I expected due to the shallow mounting depth and tiny magnet. However, the tweeter made a nice improvement, and seeing how these aren't made of paper and foam like the factory speakers, they should hopefully last longer.

Good speaker, not direct fit

Great sounding speakers for the price. However not a direct fit for a 2011 Hyundai Elantra Touring; had to modify the old speaker base.

Not worth it!

Was told these were an upgrade from the factory units and comparable to the Rockfert Fosgates I bought for my Jeep. This was REALLY not what I was promised!!!! Not much better than the factory speakers! Save your money!!!

Best speakers for the price

You get what you pay for, I had nakamichi factory speakers which were pretty decent overall for the year, these speakers just have more clarity. No bass what so ever, I have a sub in my car so that doesn't bother me. Definitely an upgrade from terrible factory speakers from the 90s tho

Good speakers outstanding price

Would recommend if you are looking to replace factory speakers for cheap. They lack bass but all 6.5 mid range do. Very clear and good sound.

These are 5 star speakers. With that said they are also "better than stock" upgrades. They sound and preform amazing compared to your cars original speakers. If you are looking for high power, knock your socks off volume and clarity these aren't your choice but if you want crisp,clear sound to replace your broken, distorted, crackly old speakers, these are a great choice.

Pros
-Better than stock. (In most cases and older cars)
-Good sound quality at 3/4 or under volume.
-Price.
-Looks good if you are mounting them in the open.

Cons (Not really a con just advice)
-Not meant for high level systems with high output subwoofers.

These speakers sound great. You can’t beat the price. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was due to the terminals for the adapter wiring kit were loose and had to be adjusted to make good contact on the speakers.

Excellent replacement OEM speakers!!!

Pleasantly surprised!!!

I needed some inexpensive speakers to install into my son's Power Wheels Escalade. I've never owned any JVC products before this but I was actually impressed by the sound quality of these speakers. They're nice and bright but not overbearing. I'd recommend these for an inexpensive audio setup that doesn't require an amplifier.

Great Stock Replacments for the Price

As some reviewers have pointed out these speakers don't deliver the 40hz range. which is understandable due to the size. However you can expect your mids and highs to be covered very well. I used these to replace my stock speakers in my kia rio. I would recommend these for a few different reasons: they are inexpensive, deliver good mids and highs, and even with just head unit power are louder than kia's stock speakers. For a great setup just add a sub woofer that is capable of 40hz. I currently have this pared with a sub woofer I bought from here about 4 years ago.

A lot cleaner than OEM

I’d recommend these JVC’s for someone who listens to music that doesn’t have heavy bass or has a Subwoofer.
I replaced my OEM speakers and added a alpine amplifier. They are very clear and clean sounding compared to OEM but have lost all the bass! They sound as if they are bottoming out whenever I change my EQ up a notch on bass. The specifications say down to 32hz?
I threw out my OEM’s so won’t be going back. Just means I’m in the market for an under seat powered subwoofer I guess.

Great Speakers at any price

I am sure some of the high end speakers on the market can spec out better, however , in my opinion a car stereo sound system only has to be great, not concert hall quality. These speakers do the job.

IMO these are better than the Memphis audio 6.5s that were installed when I bought the car. not the greatest, treble is good. bass is so-so. but better than stock speakers.
