Great sub for the price!

OK first let me say that these are not at all competition level subs, and if you want bragging rights these will not stand up to higher end brands. However, if you're on a budget, looking to get your first system, or just need that perfect level of bass, these are the way to go.

I bought two of these, put them in sealed box with 1 ft^3 for each sub, wired them in parallel to get a 2 ohm load and wow these were great! They get fairly loud even on entry level amps (1000 watt Sony Xplod XM-GTX1852 is my amp). I was bridging the amp by the way.

I only gave them like 3 hours of break in time and then I was giving each sub about 300 watts and they took it with no problems. They handled the lows great, sounded pretty clean, and shook my Jeep Cherokee. I even got roof flex and my lift gate was rattling like crazy. I like loud music, but these got loud enough to make my ears hurt, so I found myself turning them down many times. They added a ton of bass and they do sound very good.

One time, a friend and I decided to see what they could do, so I gave them each like 350 watts. I have a meter and in the front seats the level was at about 118 db playing some dubstep. I would not recommend running these at that level, not only is it painful but you can smell the voice coils heating up after a few minutes. But like I said I only gave them maybe 3 hours of break in, not a good idea. Looking back, if I had given them a few hours more they probably would have handled more power.

So in short, these are probably some of the best budget subs. They sound great, hit the lows nicely, shake your car a little, and even cause a little flex. Also, I could be heard from about a block away with these (not the rattle, the actual thump). These are not going to get incredibly loud, win you many competitions or shake cars next to you. They will turn a few heads and add that perfect amount of bass.

I don't have these anymore, but I certainly would buy them again. I sold them because I wanted to save some space by having only one 12" of a higher end brand.
