Excellent Value, very comfortable

I bought these after buying the over ear headphones and I loved them. I needed something I could walk around campus with and something that wouldn't require me to have over-ear headphones on. These did the trick. Comparable sound quality, excellent noise isolation, not cancelling, but a good deal of isolation. Background noise is muffled and all I hear is my music. Amazing product for the cost.

Noise Cancelling - I'm not sure yet ......

To do a test I put music into a room fairly loud - then put on the JVC-HA NCX78's and I was dissapointed that I could still hear the music more than just a little bit .....so I don't know for sure if they will do the job for me in airplanes which is the main reason I bought them. Haven't flown anywhere for the past several weeks so I will have to wait to find out ......I am hoping that the rush of air noises will be substantially lessened .......I have rated the overall category as just one star
because I just don't know how these will work in an airplane environment....

Good & Bad

Small, lightweight, good sound.

BUT

Turning on the noise cancelling seems to have no effect at all.
Putting the ear buds into my ears does block the noise, but the buds have a tendency to come out.
Putting in the buds & getting them to stay is difficult.

Ear Buds That Work

Ear Buds that are easy to insert; are comfortable; and provide GREAT sound.

Disappointed!

Consumer reports put these in the top choices and I am very disappointed!
