JVC refurb needs a refurb

The "chameleon" only worked for 2 weeks. I am in mexico with no tunes... and paying for serius radio to boot. booooooo...

Great looks, horrible usability

Installed in a Honda S2000 and have been using it for over 6 months.

Installation was tough for several reasons. One, this head unit is long and the space inside the S2000 is extremely limited, it was very hard trying to shove all the wires into position behind the head unit. Two, the bracket has several metal "dots" that stick out at the wrong places and need to be sanded down for it to fit the S2000.

Usability is mediocre at best. Turning volume up/down requires the iPod-like circular motion, but if you are not careful you will end up switching tracks instead. The unit can hook up your phone via Bluetooth, but it will only work if you switch to the "Bluetooth channel". When you are on the Bluetooth channel, you cannot listen to music from the radio or your USB.

It looks very impressive, but it is really annoying to use.

This is a great HU it sounds great the picture is very clear easy to set up I like the fact the you can adjust each channel separately. The SQ is pretty amazing. This HU is one of the best I ever own. You can't go wrong

Great Product :)

I bought this stereo in hopes that a referb unit wasnt going to be a bad decision.. FAR from it .. I love the deck .. JVC is the ONLY way to go and it has been rock solid .. Owning this Product makes me wanna buy the AVX-77 (that's next). Everything is excellent on this deck EXCEPT the built in blue tooth.. JVC should have put a detachable mic for better placement. I am very satisfied with my purchase and will buy my next car audio product from You!!

i bought the deck so i could just plug in a hard drive and not ever change the music again. the deck is awesome, took a little time to get use to the controls. overall very happy with it.

Good stuff

This headunit have a very slick and stylish look and of course is filled with lot of nice things from Divx, Bluetooth, dts decoding etc.
My only problem is ergonomically problem, because as a driver or even as passenger it's difficult to control this headunit at the move "virtual buttons", especially idea of the volume movement which is making circle movement on smooth surface are almost impossible to adjust, which require to take your concentration from road to the headunit, on the other hand there is possible to fit adapter for the multifunction steering wheel....

Awesome deck....

This deck is awesome, I've had it for months now, there is so much right about this deck and so few things wrong with it, there is no way I could list everything that's good, so I'll try and list the bad.
No mirror function to flip the video for the rear view camera, not a big deal but it would have been nice, thats about it, everything else is great!

EQ works great, it has the hpf and lpf we need, the sub channel is clean and crisp, the motorized faceplate is of high quality and has not been a problem, sound quality is great, the video quality of the monitor is AWESOME, all in all, this is a GREAT deck, don't even bother to think twice about grabbing on while you can.

Great value, just a bit difficult to navigate

A great looking product packed full of features and comes with a remote. Bluetooth is great, the unit has a touch pad (which is difficult to navigate and find certain things while driving), a 7 band graphic eq, and has a USB (haven't tried a bigger USB than 8GB as yet). On the screen, there are 4 levels of tilt, and the screen is big enough to watch DVD's easily. It has a "list" feature to be able to scan through the mp3 directory page by page. I've had this now for about 6 months and works perfectly, very happy with it. I received the unit quickly and paid a great price with Sonic Electronix.

Great deck, With almost no problems...

1st, I've got to talk about shipping, I had my new deck in my hands in less than 24 hrs after hitting submit on my order, That is nothing short of amazing!
Now onto the deck, The screen is amazing, even in sunlight it looks great, The 7-band EQ is great, Front rear sub and center channel pre-amp out is all you could ask for and more, plus it has an extra 2nd audio out for the "dual zone" functions, It plays DVD +r and -R just fine, it not only plays DIVX video but XVID as well, Rear view camera input works great, The only issue I've noticed is the random/repeat setting is reset at power down. Overall this deck gets 9 out of 10 stars!

This Was A Great Buy

This JVC took me by surprise. I have always been a Pioneer fan. Overall sound cannot be matched. I did set-up the HD Radio, worked perfect. It is clean sounding. I am using it on ext amps... Would be a perfect head unit for anybody. I have been tuning & installing systems since 1982. Thanks Larry

The video quality is good, sound is okay. The console buttons are difficult to use, specially the volume buttons, hard to adjust. I use the remote to change the volume.

Generally "okay"

The unit works well and has some nice features, but there are some little annoyances like difficulty setting the presets the way you'd like them instead of strongest stations. You can adjust most settings, but the menus are not very easy to navigate to get to the right option. You may want to consider a switch in-line with the dimmer wire because if you have your parking lights or headlights on during the day, the display is just too dim. The blutooth works, but the internal mic isn't that great. Mine drops calls (on the handset) when you turn off the key.

Good deck, good sound an video, great versatility only problem is doesn't light up sometimes when faceplate is attached and cuts off when playing.
