JVC HDR30

I like this radio. It was easy to install and sounds great. I mostly selected this item for the HD radio, but I have never used it. I couldn't figure out from the instructions how to switch it over to HD mode. The remote is simple but nice for use in my fish house. It pulls in a lot of stations with just a cheap rubber antenna.

Great VALUE!

good product and a good price. Only thing that I can suggest is to include antenna adapter when you purchase this product.

Great Features, but mechanically flawed.

Like most people who have ordered this stereo, the CD eject noise started. It sounds like something is breaking inside, but the manufacturer says it's just a firmware update. Well, after 3 attempts to upload the firmware, I still have the horrible crunching noise inside. The effort it took to actually get the stereo into the truck, I didn't think it was worth sending back since it still plays music just fine. Other than that, the controls are somewhat counterintuitive, but after a week or two, I'm used to it.

Super choice for all your audio needs

For the price this is a very nice car audio receiver... I enjoy all of the features: MP3, HD radio, and convenient front panel auxiliary input. The only negative I can think of is the audio controls such as the separate bass and treble controls... I still haven't found them. There are preset EQ settings, which is ok... but I like controlling these settings myself. And apparently, you can... I just can't figure out how or where. Even the manual was no help in this area. Everything else on this rig is top notch in my book.

Good product

very good product, if you have never had JVC controls are a little weird, but no problems at all.

great product

this is a great product and great value for the money. the only con that this deck has is that the voltage output for the remote wire was not sufficient for my amp. other than that i have not found any other bad things about it.

Great deal on an HD radio

I bought this refurbished unit as an upgrade from the JVC KD-HDR1. It has several improvements that make it worth the upgrade: the mini jack on the front, ability to preset HD2 and HD3 stations, adjustable input level for the AUX IN, easier access to equalizer and automatic clock setting. I have this connected to an otherwise stock Chrysler with Infinity amp/speakers and it sounds great. Some reviewers have complained that the equalizer cannot be adjusted - that is not true - just press SEL after choosing the EQ and you can scroll through and adjust the seven-band settings (RTFM). I am rating the durability based on the previous JVC HD radio - two years and no problems.

Technoid Wonderland

I'm an simple guy, I appreciate intuitive programming of electronic equipment. This in-dash unit is a button pushing nightmare of biblical proportions, laughs in the face of user friendliness. Save your pennies and buy an Alpine.

great deck

great deck. looks wonderful and works just as well. 3 pre-amps and built in crossover is great for a system. easy to operate and install.

Great value

Radio was easy to install and quality of sound is fantastic. I also enjoy the bluetooth adapter that just plugs in and works. Talking on the cell phone is safe and with some phones can be totally hands free. I have mine set to automatically answer when I get a call and it's great for me. If you're looking for a low cost system, this is it.

Horrible interface, decent stereo

As a stereo, this works well, the remote control is great, and to my ears the sound is good. The features are fine. But wow what an interface: the power button is in a totally non intuitive place, the mode buttons look just like the radio preset buttons, and the ridiculous "demo" is on by default, and if it resets for some reason, comes right back on. Those are just the interface flaws off the top of my head.

If you like a hyper "modern" interface design, maybe you'd like the button layout, but I think the layout failed miserably. I've used it almost daily for months and I still have to think twice even about where the power button is. And I'm essentially a professional gadget user.

But the price is right, it has a remote, it has a line in, and the sound is good enough to my ears.

And I can definitely recommend sonicelectronix.com, they shipped it to me right away.

GREAT!

I bought it mainly because it was cheap, and had great features for the price tag. So far, I am very satisfied. It doesn't skip, even when I hit those deep potholes.

It is slightly difficult to navigate, especially through the eq. The manual sucks, plain and simple. To adjust the eq, you have to switch to a preset like "ROCK", or "JAZZ" or something. You cant adjust "USER". When on one, press the eq button, and then select. Then adjust the first frequency that pops up. Press fast forward to adjust the next band. When youre done, press, SEL. Then youre done.

Also you cant pause a song. WTF?

Deal of a Lifetime!

100.00 for HD Radio with install kit, and wiring harness, and delivery! Sonic Electronix is the best deal on the web.
The JVC Radio dropped right into my convertible, and sounds great, HD radio works very well, just wish I had a few more stations in Columbus, Ohio. HD is a nice upgrade for FM, but a BIG upgrade for AM (I like talk radio, occasionally).
It's nice to see a 7-band EQ built-in (like back in the 80's). I just wish the display had sliders going up & down, instead of numbers. Still, this radio is tremendous bang for the buck. Now, I'll have to get an HDR50 for my Sonata (green lights).

great player

This is an amazing player that functions great and is easy to use. Sounds great and picks up HD channels with no effort. It is amazing how much free radio stations are out there that most people never hear.
