Great for the price

I do not have this exact product, but i do have the 500 instead of the 550, but it is mostly the same thing. the touch screen face was a nice add and it helped clean the face up so u dont have to have 100 different buttons u dont need. the motorized face is great. the PICT software is one of the best features, it makes for a great way to "wow" ur friends when they see pics of them or really anything on the screen flying around. The internal im is strong enough to compliment the sound coming from my other 4 speakers, the 2 on the internal amp are there, just not forceful, but the brighten things up good.
I would say a very good buy, it has versitility, style, simplisity, everything u need in a good, rock solid head-unit.

Great stereo

I, too, had the KD-LHX500. Only a little different from this. It's not too hard to work with. I did need the manual a few times to figure out how to work some of the options like uploading pictures to the stereo.

I have also owned the KD-AR5000, which is the Arsenal version of this deck. Only a couple of the specs are different. I believe it's just the RCA output voltage compared to this one. The KD-LHX500 didn't have the RCA aux input.

I currently have the Clarion DXZ855MP full-color touch-screen, and the sound quality and power of this JVC deck is noticeably superior. I don't know if there are many other decks I would choose over this one. JVC has been a great source for head units for me, and they've supplied me with THE BEST stereos I've ever used.

Easy to use full featured head unit.

Received and installed the JVC KD-LHX550 head unit today, and am very pleased with my order. The quality of the unit is great, from looks to performance to expandability. I like the SD card slot feature, however the only way to swap the card is to remove the faceplate entirely. I store mp3's on my 512mb Mini-SD card and swap it between my SmartPhone and head unit, so it makes it a little inconvenient at times. Overall I am very satisfied with my purchase of this unit from Sonic, and the free installation hardware sealed the deal for me.
