Good but not the best

I love the fact that the shipping was fast and that installing this was easy. I'm not so big on the fact that it doesn't have any preset buttons for the radio. It powers my stock speakers really really well, and my subs seem louder than before, the equalizer for this deck is awesome! It was kinda tricky to figure out at first though (didn't read the manual). I would recommend this product to anyone that is looking for a good head unit for cheap but still wants good sound.

Great product for low price

This radio is the best one I have owned. It is easy to use and the USB feature is very convenient.

Purchased this product to play MP3 audio books.
Pro: Works well for the MP3 feature.
Con: Too many steps to select preset stations. Also, I don't care for the red light display.

worked good

Like the 20 watts rms, most decks only put out 17 or less, seems to sound good, simple with a small amount of buttons on it. good for the price, would recommend. also like how the remote is simple, most other remotes i have had like 100 buttons on it, this one is very simple and actually easier to use than the deck buttons.

If you are looking for a cheap item, but with all the modern hook ups. This is it, but don't expect too much quality.

Good Starter Deck

I installed this deck in my car and it powers my speakers well. I love the look and really enjoy the fact that i can plug my ipod in through usb and controll the music from my ipod. there are a few features that i still havent figured out but ill get them. the red on the deck looks really good and its nice that its not blue like most. i like the deck and would purchase it again.

This CD player was a great choice. The price was amazing and the product works great. USB port charges my iPhone while playing music, very useful.

JKC Kd-R520

The product is a good product for the price, when its working. I have had 2 problems that seem to alternate, for some reason my deck cant retain its bass settings in the pro eq section, however i know im doing it correctly, because it retains its mid and treble settings in pro eq. And secondly, mine has had a faulty connection at the back of the deck, causing me to send it in for repairs.

However for the deck itself it has a decent rms and its simple to use, does not require a rocket scientist.

Excellent buy

This stereo was an excellent value. The stereo arrived the very next day and took me about 45 minutes to install. The most time-consuming part was splicing all of the wires. Otherwise, it was an easy installation. The stereo looks great, especially at night with the red and blue lit panel. The sound is super even with the originally-installed car speakers. Worth every penny spent.

Not bad for the cost

Worked pretty well for the cost. Nothing fancy-pretty big improvement over the stock Subaru radio.

Great Buy

There are better decks out there but for the price you cant beat this one. I put this in my 1981 monte carlo and i love it. it has plenty of setting to get your speakers and subs tuned nicely.

Great deck for the money, clean crisp sound, woke up my stock door speakers in my 2002 f250 7.3l diesel. Hooks right up to my phone and plays just as good as a cd. Bottom line I would recommend this to a friend.

I bought this product for my 2001 Chevy Cavalier, it was easy to install, it has great features, easy to use and it just looks great on my Chevy. Its a great buy for teh money you will spend, I definitely recommend it!

Great head unit, even better deal

Just got this in the mail yesterday, looking at the wires on the stock harness and the ones on the free universal harness was confusing at first. I was seriously about to call Worst Buy and have them install it for me. Got a call from the tech at Sonic Electronix and he walked me through what I needed to do which was waaaaaaaaaaaay simpler than what I thought. Had it installed and running in less than 30 min. Great Sound, I love the ipod integration, the customizable colors are cool. Great all around value and experience. I'll be recommending Sonic to all my friends for sure.

amazing!!

This improved the stock system sooooo much! On the old deck i would normally listen to music on 3/4 volume, with this its like 2/8 volume, its amazing how much louder it is. Plus it has all the cool features like the color adaptability so you can match it to the color of your interior lights/gauges/etc. This overall is an awesome stereo!! I thought it was ok since it was on the cheep side, but it totally blew me away at how it performed.

car stereo

The red is cool, but the buttons stink. To change the radio station you have to hit the up/down arrows; you can't have a set of 5 or 6 buttons to go directly to your favorites. Also, there's no power button to turn the thing off. I also don't like that you can't go right from radio to cd; you have to go through 2 or 3 other choices every time. The cd player works fine, but I wish I had looked more closely. I never would have bought this one.

awsome product

love the sound quality and was easy to install.
well worth the money and was a plus to also receive the mounting supplies along with the stereo at no charge. one thing I really enjoy was the ability to change the colors of the buttons and have them cycle through lots of different colors.

only draw back was not having an easy button for changing the bass lower or higher, you have to go into all the settings to lower bass for certain preset, not just in general.

This thing is most likely the best headunit you can find under 100 bucks. I got it for 70 something and let me tell you it is worth every penny. More sound tuning than any kenwood unit i tried so far ( kenwood has alot! ) 7 pre-select modes or you can go all custom. Amp gain and tuning for speakers and your subwoofer so you can achieve the best out of your whole system. Really nice and bright colors , even in the daylight you can easily see the colors and the screen. I cant think of any cons to be honest. Works with my android or an ipod if you have one. You can add satellite radio. Many options and never gave me a problem for the last 6 months i owned it. Even saved my speakers by going to safe mode when i wired them wrong. Ease of use gets a 3 because it takes a little getting used to figuring everything out but than ur golden.

great features

Easy to install and use. The fact that you can adjust the frequency and even the Q of the high, mid, and low EQ is very nice. Lows of features like individual source volume and EQ setting that make this great for power users on a budget, but also great for someone who just wants an easy use stereo that sounds great. Put into my wife's Jeep in no time, gonna buy another one for my truck.

Well I have had this deck for about a month and a half and I love this deck, works great with Ipod (Iphone as well).

Radio has great sound and features for the price. The color changing option is amazing.

Good features, but there is a problem with a hum from RCA outputs

Bought this for my son because it had the capability to be operated from an iPod, but I did not have the time at first to research amps and speakers. When I finally did get around to getting the amp, speakers and sub and installing them, there was a hum in the speakers which got worse with higher engine RPM's. I worked on diagnosing the issue over several weekends, buying ground loop isolators, etc., to see if that cleared up the problem. I finally found a good troubleshooting guide on the 'net, and worked through the process. A friend had an extra CD player, and when we swapped out the JVC, the hum went away. I just determined that this weekend, and have not had a chance to take it to a JVC authorized repair shop (nothing local). Until we determined what the problem was, my son was ready to live with the problem because he liked the iPod feature, and he was also able to listen to online books from his iPod. Note: the product also the capability to play music from a USB stick. Except for the hum, the product seems to be a good purchase.

Great entry level head unit!

This was a Christmas gift for my fiance, she didn't need a bunch of bells and whistles.

What I like about this head unit is:
1. Ipod/mp3/phone hookup both USB(ipod) & 3.5mm pin jack anything with a headphone jack.

2. the ability to adjust the color of the display. Sounds like a trivial thing but if you've got a pontiac (red)or other make that uses colored dash lights this helps make it look like it belongs with the car.

3. this was a breeze to install thanks to sonicelectronix! I put it in Christmas Eve @ midnight took about 15 minutes, I had already pre-wired the wiring harness to the Axxess unit for her car.

I give this 5 stars across the board its got excellent features and the price is outstanding. Durability I'm not sure of but a buddy has been running a JVC for several years with no issues.

This stereo has been perfect for my wife in her 04 silverado. Everything works and sounds as it should and the music is crystal clear. I would definitaly recommend this unit to anyone that wants to upgrade to another unit but are tight on funds like most of us in this economy

exactly what i expected

Every since i bought my first JVC chameleon year ago i have been a fan of JVC, not only for the price but for the quality. This head unit was all i needed in a stereo, and then some, BUT i think there is almost to many settings, kind of like a kenwood (one button does to many things). Whenever you want to change something the instruction manual is a must, but it is all i needed. Also just FYI JVC needs to make their remote bigger and harder to lose

You get what you pay for surely does not apply to this. Exceeded my expectations in every way! My lady friend asked me to find her a colorful deck with a USB port and this one was one of the cheapest that fit my criteria. I was expecting just the usual basic features but it ended up having more than my kenwood in my car! Very customizable and easy to use. I taught her how to do everything in just a few minutes. As usual, Sonic threw in some free accessories and the free shipping got it to my house in less than two days! Thanks Sonic!
